Riedle was an unbelievably strong striker...World Champion 1990, Vice European Champion 1992, Champions League winner 1997, not bad! It's a pity that we hear so little about him.
I remember I was a child at that time and I am with my uncle supported Sweden, admiring players Brolin and Andersen. There wasn’t enough time left for Sweden to turn the game, but the last goal by Anderson was amazing and gave us some hope!
Thomas Haessler was outstanding at euro 92. Lothar Matthaeus was out injured and missed the whole tornament. Then Voeller broke his arm in the opening game and was out for the tornament
Sorry to our Swedish friends. Martin Dahlin was a striker I really adored in the Bundesliga. I guess the German national team was quite unpopular in all the 90s. The 'Intel 486' advertising is hilarious, isn't it?!... :D
@@Reddragon-hn6ot that may very well be true. I can just remember Germany- England 96 which must have produced even more fouls. i just can not find any statistics to proof that unfortunately
Horrible defending those days. It looks too easy to score compared to the modern 21st century football. Sweden were good in those days with semifinals at euro92 and wc94. Denmark finally beat this Germany with 2-0 in the final.
*Maybe in the 2nd half but in the beggining Mexico's tactic nullified Kloss and Kimmich and made so many counterattacks. Just because their forwards wanst accurate but this ended 3-0.*

except at Liverpool!
Same with Mathias Sammer won the ballon dor as a sweeper but because he retired soon after he’s forgotten about
Ok in 1990 he was a substitute
In the nineties Germany was blessed with numerous elite strikers.... Klinsmann....Völler....Riedle....Kuntz....Kirsten....Bierhoff....
Er war als Mensch auch bescheiden und zurückhaltend.
Kits are legendary.

German T-shirts in 1992 was BY FAR THE BEST and most beautiful football t-shirts in history of football.

Germany had a Super Team there!
0-1 Thomas Häßler (11 min)
0-2 Karl-Heinz Riedle (59 min)
1-2 Tomas Brolin (64 min (PK))
1-3 Karl-Heinz Riedle (88 min)
2-3 Kennet Andersson (89 min)
Riedle was in the form of his life
The first tournament i properly remember, i had the sticker book and the kits were amazing....
Thomas Hassler fut très fort durant ce tournoi

Same me. I was 12. Germany had brilliant team. I loved Brolin and Anderson, and wished Sweden to win! Amazing those moments!

Yeah! In these semi finals I supported Sweden and Netherlands!
What a great ball by ingesson. German defense should have done better but that is a very tricky play to defend. Great header by Andersen as well.
Thomas Hassler👍👍👍
This was my first European tournament, watched on Tv
I too it was my first European championship on tv
time when you can see so many blondie players..
In euro 92,champions is Denmark.... Not Germany...

Perhaps in the last 20 minutes, but Mexico was tactically and technically superior to Germany in that game
