Thanks for getting the Video out despite the obvious illness. I always look forward to party game reviews as its my favourite category. Paranormal Detective was a great hit over Christmas. It balances a bit of fun while still trying to solve a mystery, plus Its also quite fun playing the ghost. I really want Banned words as I was toying with getting Trapwords but got put off by the theme bit. Unfortunately as Jon says its difficult to get hold of in the UK. Wavelength is something I'm looking forward to trying and will be my next Party game purchase.
I had a friend tell me about Wavelength recently! Glad to hear it has your seal of approval. I'll have to check it out! Thanks for another great video. Looking forward to your top games from 2019!
Wavelength seems too easy to cheat in, a team could just have a convention that they always pick a word such that it's first letter indicates the position on the dial by it's position in the alphabet, for example.

Eye Sea ** ** I haven't played yet. *** I haven't played Monikers, but I've played Time's Up so, this is just a technicality With the exception of 'Bring Your Own Book', every one I've played has gone over very well. There are a bunch of others that I already had before I started to watch Actualol and would've gotten afterwards, for sure. Like Deception: Murder in Hong Kong, Telestrations, etc. And there are a whole bunch I still haven't gotten that I'm dying to play like 'Dude', the five in this video, Casting, Tags, and a lot more. And that's just the party game recommendations; but he knows that category really well. He understands what makes the type of people who enjoy party games tick. !!! Alright, so after Jon proof-read my post, I removed the following: Konito ** Imagine Snowman Dice ** Blank Slate **
That is so cool, thank you for sharing. Would you mind if I shared it on Twitter? There's only a few I've never had in a video: Konito, Snowman Dice, Blank Slate and Imagine. I'm so glad to have led you towards the others. 🙂
@@actualol Yeah, go right ahead and share it. Man, I really don't know where I got Konito from, then. One party game I think you and your group would like that I don't think you've ever mentioned is Moods. Have you played it?
Yay I can't wait for the best of the year video! *fingers crossed for a Timmy appearance* also totally do buy games based on your recommendations...some are a bit harder to find in NA though....good thing I'm going to Europe "what souviners did you bring from London, big ben, union jack items?" I’m playing Wavelength this weekend and sooooo excited for it!!! Also no Medium on your list? I really enjoyed that one 😀 I need banned words but it’s not available in Australia 😭😭 And arrival is an epic movie 👏👏 That’s is all 😂😂
Wavelength sounds great, definitely going to check it out. Also, First Contact sound interesting - we like Code Names, so I feel like it would fit in well with my family.
Wavelength is an awesome party game. It reminds me of one of the Jackbox games on consoles/PC brought to life! I wouldn't doubt if they copy it somehow.
Great question. I suspect it's one of those things that was made for animals (like horses and such), where someone thought to themselves: "Hey, what if we market this to people?" and it sort of caught on. Dire stuff obviously - but then again in Lithuania we eat candy made out of cow's blood, so who am I to judge? edit: I should add that my team got it blatantly wrong.
Banned words... seems fun but would you not want to try at all if the score was close? how often does the other team get more points than the person giving clues?
20 second showdown? really? that game doesn't deserve 5th spot...game description sounds so childish (there are so many 'do the challenge ' games that are better : drinkopoly, deer lord, quelf, curses...) my recommendations for fifth spot: obscurio, medium, team 3, we need to talk.... i relly enjoy your charts...thank you for making them...btw i,m still trying to buy scribble time (the game that you put in your 2017. TOP10 but i don't think it was ever properly released)
It's just my opinion of course, but I have played Medium, Team3, We Need To Talk and Obscurio and I prefer 20 Second Showdown to all of them. As ever, it is difficult to compare different styles of game. 20 Second Showdown is so different from something like Obscurio. All I'm going off is how much fun I had playing them and 20 Second Showdown wins. Out of the ones you've mentioned I do particularly enjoy We Need To Talk and I plan to review it at some point. Obscurio was a big disappointment for me, which I talk about in one of my Patreon newsletters.

Banned words... seems fun but would you not want to try at all if the score was close? how often does the other team get more points than the person giving clues?
Frequently but it's still fun.
You go in rounds, so each team has equal turns at guessing the words and banning words.
