@@ActuallyRea I just re-stumbled apon your channel after like, idk 4 years or so and I am so happy that i did because your my favorite artist from my childhood and i love your style and attitude, so thank you :D
Genuinely very good to see you not getting proportions right on the first try and going back to correct. Super encouraging for me as an artist who's scared of character studies to see an artist I adore showing how they do theirs. Thanks for this vid!!! Chef's kiss muaaa
Literally get so excited if I see any of your new videos pop up on my feed. Literally obsessed with your art and the stuff you ramble about is genuinely so fun to listen to.
FRRR!! I love listening to their videos in the background when drawing- And they've honestly helped me out alot with my own art! Mostly just baby steps, but hey, I'm learning!
great video as always! I think it's great that you're really showing people the importance of studies to get better - we walk on the shoulders of giants afterall!
The colors are absolutely stunning and I can’t put into words just how amazed I am seeing your poses and color just works so well with spider verse world! 😊
June is seriously like my comfort creator. I always come back to their channel when i want to get better at art but need a space where it feels safe to make mistakes, thanks June *(eats your art style)*
Feels like I never get any where or better with art despite how long I’ve practiced. Tho I’m sure that’s not the first time anyone has heard or felt that. Cool vid as always June. Cool advice too. ❤️
I struggle so much with doing studies or even as simple as using references. Since it can just really unmotivate me, so thank you. I'll try and see if your method works for me :3.
First of all, *Amazing art!* Second of all, another really useful thing when you replicate an art-style is to also question "Why the artist is doing this?" when you see the shapes, poses and key details when certain character traits are accentuated. Because artists emphasize on different things for different emotions and context (that's where the art style comes from), maybe is in how they draw the eyes, the hair, their clothes, the line thickness, the mouth, the hands, etc... Everything is there for a reason, that's why artists draw and don't draw certain stuff on their art style (unless it's necessary for the art piece).
I get so excited and giddy whenever you post. Like, it hasn’t faded after a whole ass decade. Getting to see advice, improvements, and studies like this just makes it that much better. Not to mention how smooth that swinging animation was that was so unexpected.
Spider verse is amazing! Love it so much. The art, the story-telling, everything is amazing! I can't be the only artist who got inspired from it and created atleast one spider-sona!
I just realized the technique of Replication, Expansion, and Application can be abbreviated as R.E.A. and am LOSING MY MIND!! If this was intentional, then you're a genius (and if not then it's just a funny coincidence). Anyways, I am totally gonna try this with some of my art at some point. I feel like I'm semi decent at replicating other artstyles, but that my own artstyle is practically nonexistent right now.
I love this kind of dynamic art instruction. They're really setting thier fans up to improve. It would be really cool to see a "learn to draw" book in their style.
the timing for the disclaimer about the timespan of doing all this was so good because i had JUST started thinking about how id go crazy trying to do this all as fast as it seemed
A major jump in style and quality for June! I am forced to work on parts of art i dont care for like backgrounds in my current project, but when i see improvement I feel SUBLIME🤩
Just finished watching across the spider verse and I already love it. The spider verse series so far has been absolutely amazing! Really inspired me to try to think up more creative designs with my own work
I know this is a CRAZY OLD video but it would be so cool if you could make another one of these videos with anatomy instead of expressions! This video helped me a lot with faces and I need the same help with anatomy and how they move. The way you explain things and the way you are so happy about art always makes me want to draw more! I’ve been a fan since like 2019 lol, I love you sm ❤
I get so giddy when you post- you got me kickin my feet n shit I love both your art and spiderverse so you know I am eating well rn :) I’ve only recently started doing studies but I never really knew how to do them- I just redrew stuff- so the outline you provide is super helpful
I recently went back to look at old sketchbooks because I was in a bad spiral in thinking I havent improved at all in all the years I've drawn and I was VERY wrong. I've improved a ton and doing stuff like this really helped me figure out a way for me to feel comfortable and have fun drawing again.
As just a simple hobbyist OC and warrior cats animator this is still incredibly helpful! I was pleasantly surprised to find I’ve already been using a similar method to study other art styles, and yeah the improvement afterwards is very noticeable! Thanks so much for sharing your process, definitely gonna use this for my own personal art, even if Im just drawing battle kitties for fun hehe X3
Currently sick and too tired to draw so seeing your video pop up in my feed genuinely made my day ❤ Also as a side note a good few years ago when I first found your channel (around the time when you first introduced your PRISM characters) I can remember thinking “damn I wanna draw that detailed one day” and while admittedly I do miss the older more detailed and more rendered style the way you draw now reminded me that art is supposed to be fun and sometimes having a looser style is fine too and is something I’ve been keeping in mind lately, so thank you (I will one day figure out how you draw hands those tho those bitches hard to draw)
this was a genuine huge help!!!! Been trying to do a few style studies + anatomy studies myself and this video def helped me organize a bit more and get that art motivation going
stuff like this rlly helps w my art block bc ill want to draw but dont know what im drawing ill go so long without drawing that i honestly lose alot of skill and have a hard time jumping back into it but studies like this seem to help
I've never watched twd, but that ginger man looks like sheamus in the best way possible. That being said, I loved this video and how helpful it actually is. But maybe I'm just biased cus I love the spiderverse movies
I actually took notes during the video thanks June I've been kinda a little dissatisfied and looking to study more art styles to apply to my own but I've always hit a wall but now I'm gonna try applying things from the video along with my notes
As someone who adores The Walking Dead and these characters, I was so happy to see you drawing them. I think my favorites are the Michonnes, Abrahams, and the Negans (but I loved the Glenns and Carols too!). Maybe it’s just because I haven’t seen the characters in a while (minus Negan, I saw him a few months ago in Dead City)
I would LOVE a new video of you just going through your process now that your style has changed so much. What brushes and settings you use, blending mods etc
This video was perfectly timed oh my goodness. I've been stuck in a weird place with my art where I'm technically happy with my skills at the moment but my style has been moving into a direction that is pretty different from what I *want* it to be. I've always struggled with studies and applying them so having a video like this that is relatively short but in depth about some ways you could approach studies is SUPER helpful. Seeing you improve so much in a relatively short amount of time is so inspiring and makes me want to experiment around and do more studies myself!
God I would love to take a art class where I could call u my professor I feel like I would learn and improve so much professor June just has a nice ring to it too lol
