Great play through of a great game, little hint though, make sure you sell all your goods at the merchant, and all your ships at the shipwright, any excess doesnt count when you divide the plunder, only the gold on hand.
Do not divide the gold. For those who are new to the game, do not follow his suggestion to do so. SC is simply carrying around a crew far larger than his cash supply will allow to keep happy. With his ~50k gold he can keep a crew of 50 people at the minimum of unhappy permanently. Remember folks, 1k gold per person to prevent mutiny, 3k gold per person to keep them very happy. Dividing the plunder is bad in any and every way.
I know that it is possible to have enough gold to keep your crew from mutinying indefinitely - I've done it before. I don't know why it didn't work for you - maybe you misremembered something, or maybe you need both morale items for the 1k/person thing to work?

It does say at the bottom of the screen just under the advantage bar which weapons you and your opponent are using for the dueling. Just trying to point it out to you since you mentioned you weren't sure about the weapons.

If you read this; listen to me, don't name the next game Sid Meier's Pirates 2 - name it Sid Meier's 7 Seas, and make it so that one is able to sail around the world, or at least to Europe. Fill the world with livelier characters, more complex, longer quests, and give the player the choice of whether becoming a pirate or not. You could give the player the choice of being in with the fleet for example.
That trade galleon addiction is going to cost you when you go east. They don't tack well at all. Other than your self imposed long journey east great episode!
I haven't played yet (though I plan on getting the game soon) but from what I've seen, having more ships lets you carry more cargo to sell off in ports, and you can also sell off your extra ships in port for decent money so long as they're not too damaged. I've also seen in other playthroughs that some pirates have really large crews, and are also pretty fast at dueling, so for those you want a really big ship with lots of pirates on board, because if you run out of crewmates while dueling, you automatically lose and are stranded ashore for a few months. So sometimes you want to have a smaller fast ship as your usual head ship for the normal raiding and the big monster as backup to battle the pirates.
The other reason is because most of the loot was random stuff like clothing, food, drinks, silverware and other miscelanea, so even if they wanted, they mostly didnt have gold to bury.

Not necessarily true. the crew gets more unhappy the longer you have them out. I've had a crew of 60 before and over 100k and they still mutinied.

When u are on land press '9' to get spyglass it will be eazier to search whats front of you.

You know, you dont have to defend every blow from the captains, if you choose the rapier, you can attack faster than them.

my favorite ship in this game is the frigate and its upgraded version
theyre fast, have good hold, crew size and canom size

well they could of buryed it some times but for their kin uf they did this it would probbaly be so that no one gets the gold
