I don't agree with Blair on much, however, he was damned right on removing Sadam Hussein from power. Tony Blair gained a great deal of respect from me on his bravery in making that call. I know of very few politicians today who have that strength of resolve. Most political commentators and critics of Blair's decision would run a mile from making those kind of decisions. I wrote to Tony Blair at that time and begged him to stand firm and do what was right and support the integrity of Global institutions like the UN which Sadam had split right down the middle including NATO with France aligned with Russia against the UK and USA. Sadam was playing a very dangerous game and Tony did the right thing. These institutions are still strong thanks to his actions. Margarate Thatcher was 100% correct in her initial assessment of Blair when she said; "Britain is safe in his hands". It was.

It annoys me the way Blair thinks he is this amazing electoral genius. The truth is he polled fewer votes than Jeremy Corbyn in 2001 and 2005, his one trick was to face a weak, unpopular and divided opposition, a luxury his successors didn't have.

It really is a shame he chose to back bush with Iraq which pretty much undid all the good he did for this Country, he was an incredibly competent PM and with 3 resounding election wins the British public at the time obviously thought the same, the trouble is with this Labour Party their sole priority seems to be all about appeasing it's hard left groups of the party and stirring up tensions between minority groups and the rest of the Country, they've completely abandoned traditional Labour supporters and results show this
