Let's break out the index cards and we'll talk about what EmuDeck actually is and what it does - along with a breakdown of the components it installs and interacts with. We'll also cover topics like BIOS and ROMS and a few gotchas you might encounter.

    Thanks for recommending this one. I have emudeck but had no idea how it actually worked. I also like how your videos lead with what something is not before discussing how to properly understand it. It really helps to dispel any incorrect preconceived notions beforehand. Keep up the great work!

    Is this a updated guide? I'm ready to dive straight into emudeck this weekend.

      This isn't really a guide. It's more about training and understanding how all the pieces work. Retro Game core has a nice tutorial.

    So does this mean that Emu Deck do not contain the games that I wanna play such Super Mario Bros. , Legend of Zelda, Mega-man, Pac-Man, etc? I have to acquire these ROM games first then utilize the Emu Deck to be able to play them?
    It's just I had this naive assumptions that installing Emu Deck on my Steam Deck will have all the retro games/ arcade games I wanna play.
    Pls clarify this for me.

      That would piracy - distributing illegal software. No emulator or emulation package is going to do that for you. Every game you mentioned is copyrighted and owned by someone that isn't me, you or EmuDeck's developers. EmuDeck gives you the MEANS to play these games. They aren't going to break the law to provide them to you. You'll have to violate copyright law on your own :D

    I know you obviously can't say in the video or the description, but finding the Switch BIOS is driving me nuts. The annoying thing is that I installed Yuzu on my PC about 6 months ago and have played it ever since, but I now I have no clue where I originally downloaded the BIOS file or where to find it on my PC

    • @Darkuni
      @Darkuni  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Go find a Yuzu tutorial via Google. See where THEY tell you to put the files in question. Then check your PC and get them from there... :)

    So Retroarch is a frontend that needs another frontend to make it usable, it seems :)

    • @Darkuni
      @Darkuni  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a framework that HAS a front end (just not very good of one IMHO)... :)

    How to run 3DO games via Emudeck? Only black screen after running

    • @Darkuni
      @Darkuni  ปีที่แล้ว

      You know, I'm not sure I've ever tried to run 3D0 games. I imagine you need the appropriate BIOS files for that. Looks a bit nasty: docs.libretro.com/library/opera/#bios
