When temps hit above 35C, I get up extra early in the morning, give them a good drink. Then around 11 am I have some shade cloth that I can loosely drape to cover a fair portion of the plants plus a few encouraging words...may sound silly but I've seen some sad-sack plants pull through....every little bit helps.
I try to grow tomatoes in my garden in Las Vegas Nevada, home of 105° days for months and 20 to 35 mile an hour winds 3 to 4 times a week. My tomato plants are all curled and none of them recover but occasionally I’m lucky enough to get a few tomato’s. I am now building infrastructure so that I can add shade cloth. Often times I think of adding commercial quality misters To help keep things humid
This just happened for me today (for the 1st time). I have 30 container cherry tomato plants. Only one of them is doing this. I water all equally and heavily every morning. Only 1 plant curled its leaves, and not all of them. Didn't notice any signs of disease. Don't know what else to do, so I moved to another location. Only difference is on the deck plants are exposed to sun through glass and in the garden, not
Yup, that's just it, as long as it's not chemicals or an actual virus, it's a normal occurrence in the heat of summer. Usually, they recover and it's no big deal. :-)
My tomatoes have stopped growing. The same one or two small tomatoes on them. Not growing or turning red. They are on my patio, and only get about 2 hrs of sun a day. Do I need to drag them around my yard chasing the sun? Lol TY for all your great info. HUGS 🙏🇺🇸🍅
What about leaf curl for tomato seedlings that are still under LED grow light. Plants are about 10 inches tall and 18 inches below the light. Seems the lower leaves are affected first. I have not been over watering or under watering.
You mentioned herbicide drift but didn't go into detai. My husband sprayed Spectracide for clover in the lawn. I'm not certain if the curling is heat/drought related or drift, if drift should the vegetables be consumed? I also have beans, cukesm berries and my very 1st baby watermelon. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi Jeff. Nothing like a quickies. So far so good with my tomatos.
And thats thanks to you. God bless and see you on the next. ❤
I have one container Roma with yellow sick looking leaves. All my other tomatoes in dirt AND containers are fine. I’ve isolated it !
Same, wonder why, I tried watering more and not helping

I hear you Kevin...there's only so much the plants can take! People do grow them though, but like you say, extra measures must be taken.
I've never had a quickie in the garden, but it sounds like something I'd enjoy 😉
You never know until you try!
As long as the soils moist and not dry lol
Right on time! Thank you.
Thanks for watching! 🙂
ALWAYS amazing... love all your videos thx
Thanks gazelle! 🙂
Great info as always, Jeff
Thanks again 👌
Thanks mark, appreciate the kind words and support!
Quick! Put out the next Quickie! The suspense is killing me!

Very useful to know, thanks!

Yea 2 hours of sun isn't going to cut it for a tomato. They need at least 6 a day.
@@gloriajackson2021 Thank you Gloria. 🌼
Yup...tomatoes are a full-sun plant. Minimum of 6+ hours a day. No way around it unfortunately.
....You can do it Judy!!! I doing same right now. They are getting heavy!!! I'm thinking of the red tomatos to come!!!
Much Luck❤❤
@@savinabees9220 Thank you.
What's the cause if the undersides of the leaves are purple?
Lack of potassium
I use Liquinox 0-10-10 Bloom it’s cheaper to buy it by the gallon around $26. I mix it 2 ounces per gallon.
Usually cooler temperatures locking away either Phosphorus, Potassium, or Magnesium: th-cam.com/video/gVWMIf2c458/w-d-xo.html
