Appreciate your honesty, sometimes we do things we may regret later, we all do this. Enjoy your videos. As an Aussie, it is good to see a foreigner's perspective.
I went to Kuranda in 2019 and have my own picture with a Koala. Did not take the scenic rail but I took a bus from Cairns. Should have done the rail. My impression was the Koalas were sedated. However, the Koala-handler did tell me that they only use the same Koala for 30 mins a day and that made me feel better. It's probably not too much for the Koala if it's only 30 minutes. I also want to say please do not starve yourself over there. Eat properly, you will the strength. Australia can be a tough continent.

If you get close to one, just stay still. They have terrible vision and react to movement and smell. We don't smell like prey to them, so they can think we're just a tree. If you are bitten, lie down and stay still, wait for help to come to you, don't run and get help. The venom travels through the lymphatic system, thus the more you move, the quicker the venom empties into the blood stream. If you're running, it'll empty out it minutes, if you don't move, it could take half a day or so. th-cam.com/video/lLkw4BXa7pQ/w-d-xo.html
I see Kuranda is still a tourist trap but in a good way. You probably understand now why holding koalas is not permitted in NSW (but is still allowed in Qld). If/when you come back to Sydney, I'd be happy to take you to see wild kangaroos. I know a place to reliably see a big group early in the morning (but you need a car to get there, it's an hour's drive from the city).
Since 2022, koalas have been declared an endangered species in Queensland. Some zoos and wildlife parks actually donate to preservation initiatives and projects with the money they make. I know you felt guilty after your koala encounter, but if you check with the park/zoo prior to booking an animal encounter you might actually be ok with it if you find some of your money is being donated to a good cause.
2:28 into this video. I would never tell someone how or what to spend their own money on 😮 Having said that here in Australia we have a phrase "Australian Made" we encourage tourists to purchase locally made goods artwork etc but a lot of the flags animals boomerangs sold in tourists hot spots are made in China and have nothing to do with Australia beyond the point of purchase.
According to the ACCC (Australian Competition & Consumer Commission) it is illegal to claim a product is “Australian Made” or “Made in Australia” etc. if it is made overseas. Though, stating it is made in Australia doesn’t mean the materials for the product were sourced in Australia. Therefore, if it is made in China they can’t say it is made in Australia. Though, because it is based on what is deemed “reasonable”, I’m sure they could say it’s made in Australia if say 20% of the product was made overseas.
Maybe she feels the animal is being handled repeatedly for the sake of people taking photos with it. Like a circus performance. But i don't think she needs to be that concerned about it. The money goes to preservation so it's a good enough cause.
Lol, you're such a tourist 🤣 I cant stand koalas, its a long, horrible story im not gonna bore you with but lets just say that cuddly, cute thing CAN be one of natures greatest deceptions 🤣 Thanks for posting and keep your chin up, good times ahead, sometimes everyone has to be the koala a bit 😉 Always put happy first 🫡
Hahah you must’ve had such a traumatic experience with them. I feel like most animals, even the cuddly looking ones, can be like that because at the end of the day they’re animals, even pets 😭

7:00 A koala is a little ball of fur, muscles and claws. If the koala wasn't happy, you would've been in a world of pain!
I didn’t know they could get aggressive and bite!

Hi from Sydney 👋
Hi Sydney!!
you definitely need to become a youtuber in some shape or form
☺️

I don't fully understand why taking photos with a koala would be animal abuse lol.

I appreciate your authenticity in your videos. I must admit I'm a little jealous of that skyrail ride.. really cool location 😮
Thank you so much! To be honest the train ride was even better! I would’ve been happy with only that :)
nice :)
