    First thing I noticed was his super precise and symmetrical golf swing with the consistency of a heartbeat. Very nice!

    My opinion. I struggle a lot when i start to learn golf because all the media are body mechanics teaching. I give up a game for a 1 or so. Now i come back and start to figure out the real basic are, and keep practicing on that, and it pays off this time😊😊 and my golf gets improved itself.

      Haha yes! Although it is actually just as long on top and the sides as well. It’s just clipped back, though. You can see it better in the gym clips at the end of the video.

    I’ve always wanted a series that explored someone’s “ah ha” moments. I know that can be difficult, because a lot of good players started young without that many bad habits

      Great concept for a series! I agree it’s a challenge to find golfers who had that experience in adulthood.

    I think with him, he’s a natural athlete too, which helps tremendously

    • @JaacobBowden
      @JaacobBowden 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah, I’d agree that made a difference. Even with skipping a grade, I still managed to play college basketball and have a tryout with the Minnesota Twins. Sometimes I wonder what would’ve happened if I was in a grade lower, or even held back a grade. So, that athleticism surely helped the transformation in golf!

      Yep, across all sports, the naturals rise to the top quicker and/or easier. What they do with thta talent is different, but genes are a huge deal in ceiling of performance.

      @JaacobBowden 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, Austin wasn’t one of those guys who could explain it to someone like they were a 3rd grader, at least not that I knew.
      It’s multifaceted but in my experience he thought about it a lot in terms of kinesiology and also physics, thus the thinking of using the leverage of the skeletal system.

    • @JaacobBowden
      @JaacobBowden 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I can appreciate and relate to you on the aspect of the aesthetics of the swing.
      For me, I want something that works and performs well, but ideally I’d also like it to look a way that I I subjectively find pleasing to view, in the same way a bodybuilder poses or a dancer, gymnast, or artist presents what they want to display.
      This is why Federer is my goat of tennis and not Novak. The style and grace counted for something to me in his greatness vs looking at it from a pure grand slam win total standpoint.

    Again calling BS on the 515 yard drive . Its as credible as Bryson's and Phil's 500 yard drives down the cart path .

    • @JaacobBowden
      @JaacobBowden 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It is pretty wild to think about that kind of distance, but it was in a tournament with witnesses, including a major championship winning playing partner. Guiness World Records also validated it.
      I’ve played the hole a number of times. I think my best on it was 370, if I remember correctly. I imagine I could have gotten over 400 with the tailwind Austin had. He also got some of the distance from rolling across the green. Still, even with those extra boosts, 515 still seemed out of reach. It’s really mind boggling.

    I hate to be a naysayer but this guy isn't winning nothing against the SoCal mini tour scene with that swing. It doesn't take the keenest of eyes to know a tour quality swing. Those events are filled with guys like Charlie Beljan etc who have bounced around the Tour. Great story and all but that is as far as it goes.

      Genuinely curious, what doesn’t make it tour quality?
      I’ve shot in the 60s in tour events, made cuts, had a world ranking, won qualifiers for the World Long Drive Championships, had club head speed in the 140s, shot the record score in the Speedgolf World Championships, and more. A miracle from where I started and the circumstantial resources I had available.

      Back in the 2000’s (don’t remember the exact year) I was a member of swingman golf. Taped 3 golf balls to old shaft used the swing fan and I think an old driver for different weights and do 3 sets of 10 with each 3 times a week . I would do it at the beginning of every season and gain about 5 mph swing speed. Still do the same thing now but now with speed sticks and Rypstick routines. LOL
