    It took 3 minutes before this video got to the point. Then, all the important information was given.

      I share your observations. They could have reduce this six minute video to three minutes by cutting out the AOPA Staff and Congressman’s patting themselves on their back. Absent this they could insert chapter timelines to allow viewers to skip those portions.

    Be nice if they could help build more hangers and get the EPA & other regulations out of building hangers. They are so outrageously expensive few airports are building them anymore

    One priority for medical special authorization issuance should be to eliminate the law requiring the FAA to communicate decisions and requests for more information via postal service mail. Next priority should be to get a max time for response. Current 5+ months to review is a joke.

    Too bad all the local airport will spend the money on those with jets, not 4-6 cylinder piston engines. We will continue to get pushed aside.

    I hope that provisions were added to make the mental health treatment and support more transparent and easier for pilots to get professional counseling and continue flying.

      They need to drop some if the ridiculous requirements of having a blanket standard for all issues. If a physician that you see directly approves of your status then the FAA should authorize it or make it where their physicians can personally evaluate you. The ridiculous costs that general aviation pilots have to pay out of pocket to have a medical approved forces many to give up flying after doing it for years.

    I would like for AOPA address the FAA physical to a DOT physical same thing.Im a commercial Truck Driver i think taking a separate physical is silly. I think the DOT physical is more proficient than FAA physical.

    I wish your clip would have included a CFI expiration date explanation.

      Thanks for the feedback. Here is the section of FAA reauthorization pertaining to CFI certificate expiration: Sec. 820. Flight Instructor Certificates
      Requires FAA to issue a final rule requiring the FAA to remove the expiration date on a
      flight instructor certificate.

    If basic med doesn't help more pilots keep their medical we will lose a massive amount of pilot mentors and people who can drive the industry and lifestyle forward.

    Nice work AOPA - appreciate the funding for small airports and work on Basic Med….next year maybe funding to offset cost of primary flight training to get more people in system.

    What good is more pax / seats and higher mgtow allowance if basicmed folk still can’t fly high and fast. So someone can fly that pressurized piston or turbine twin but still can’t use it properly. Weird.

    AOPA fighting to keep lead in the fuel

    • @xplayman
      @xplayman 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      It’s not so much fighting to keep lead in the fuel but to make sure fuel is available until unleaded or alternatives are available. This is to combat states like CA who have prohibited airports from carrying anything but unleaded. The unleaded suppliers themselves said that they wouldn’t be able to keep up with demand or any surges. Rather than strong arm airports into changing immediately for a supply that isn’t there it gives airports time to adjust over 6 years.

    I’m looking for a hanger. Does not do any good looking for aircraft unless you have a place to park it. Also boomer pilots that are aging out and not flying anymore have hanger full of car collection and other non aircraft. Needs to be a hanger sheriff.
