Majestic Vultures. I've also heard they're pretty important for the ecosystem, since they scavenge carcasses.

Yup. They can spot a carcass four miles away on the open plains. Although they may seem disgusting, vultures have extremely acidic stomachs that make them good at digesting anything and resistant to diseases. Turkey vultures are a common sight, but california condors, another New World vulture that once roamed much of North America went extinct in the wild in 1987. Thankfully, they have been reintroduced to California, and there are also plans to repopulate Oregon and Washington.
