I post a variety of weather time lapse videos, especially thunderstorms and wildfires in California.
Sunset Rainbow Time Lapse 6/9/2021 - 6/14/2021
Rainbows form when sunlight refracts in raindrops (spheroid shaped, not teardrop shaped, as commonly thought) and comes back into your eyes. Because longer wavelengths of light refract less (index of refraction of red light in water is 1.331, while that of violet light is 1.338 ), white light is separated into a spectrum, and these colors come back from different angles in the form of a radiant, breathtaking rainbow. Primary bows come from one reflection inside the droplet, while secondary bows result from two reflections. In between the two arcs, the sky may look darker than usual. This is because light undergoes total internal reflection. Rainbows are actually full circles, but the ground blocks the bottom half of it, and you can only see rainbows when the sun is less than 42 degrees above the horizon. However, if you go on an airplane or climb a mountain, with a bit of luck, you can see the full circle! When raindrops sizes are small enough (more common with the convective showers we get in Palo Alto), supernumerary bows can also emerge.

Dust storms (or haboobs) can originate from thunderstorm downbursts reaching the ground and blowing dry, loose dust up from the desert. Haboobs are a common occurrence in the west during monsoon season and can produce sudden strong winds and drops in visibility, so here are some safety tips for driving: www.weather.gov/safety/wind-dust-storm Time Lapses from the ALERTWildfire network www.alertw...

Monsoon Thunderstorms in Southern California 8/20/2020 - 8/23/2020
มุมมอง 2.6K3 ปีที่แล้ว
As oppressive heat continued in Southern California, monsoonal moisture from the Gulf of California lifted by hot desert air and mountains formed popup afternoon thunderstorms. The remains of Hurricane Genevieve were forecasted to bring another round of disastrous lightning storms on 8/23, but the moisture arrived quicker than previously modeled which decreased its interaction with the incoming...

North Bay Lightning Storms Spark Wildfires 8/17/2020

Another wave of mid-level moisture reached North Bay the morning of August 17th, producing elevated dry thunderstorms over the North Bay that moved northeast over the Sacramento Valley. It's so beautiful! i love watching storms!!
Porque parece que a chuva não chega muito bem no chão dessas nuvens cumulusnimbus no vídeo
These thunderstorms are incredible how they fix themselves along one particular convergence point where the updrafts are strongest but don't really advance further.
Yup. These terrain anchored storms can't survive without lift from mountains, and monsoon moisture is often elevated. Every day storms appear in the same places and rain themselves out immediately if there is not enough windshear.
Hermoso
Nice time lapse. Would be better slowed down just a bit.
Cumulonimbus clouds farther away from the equator are always a little more underwhelming
True, they are shorter, but you don't get vorticity near the equator!
In Bogotá I saw those a Lot of times, now on Barcelona, I don't
similar condition
Ngl i do love snow
.5 and .25 speed are imo better (for the image, not the music though!)
Beautiful
Clouds and rain forming in this vd are chill and beautiful at the same time. Thanks for the vd😊
wth 😭😭
Please released slow videos

I love the anvil top

I love distant time lapse because they have you a clear view of convection and what's really happening in the atmosphere better than looking at diagrams. Air rising up at the higher level causing wind at the lower level to swoop in and replaced it while the upper level air moves to replace the sinking air somewhere else. Pretty cool.
This give you the best sense of convection and where the air is going. Timelapse is awesome.
Amazing time lapse

Lovely, Good work Kevin. You should try the software Topaz AI for video and run the video in the temporal filter to double or triple the frames after that you can decimate (or subtractive Interpolate to the nearest frame) back down to 60 FPS. this will produce frames that will naturally flow into each-other. Its a little trick many Pro timelapse artist use. you might be surprised how it can take your footage from a 8/ 10 to 10 /10 either way, very well done, cheerio.
nice mood, nice light!

Why cumulus clouds are ugly and fluffy??
As a cumulus cloud, I am slightly offended by your standards of beauty.
