Thanks for watching! Please let me know your thoughts on the video, and on the game :) Known issues in the game that will be fixed: -The inventory system takes some getting used to, I'll be adding visuals and a clearer overall inventory system. -In rare cases a Rite will get stuck on a certain item and not allow you to change it, so be sure to save often!
I hope you can get back on the bike and keep working on your idea! I really think challenges like game jams are a great source of motivation, because it forces you to just get something done. You can always clean it up later, but at least you got started, you know?
@@atominyo That's awesome, good luck! (And if you're ever not sure which jam to join, itch has a handy tab that shows all the current and upcoming game jams hosted on the site.)
Watching this video made me really want to play your game and maybe some of the other ones in the jam!! Also I LOVE the butler idea, it would be awsome if you made that game!!
Yippee, I'm so glad!! I'd really appreciate it if you did play the game 🙏 I'm still listening for any feedback people have on it. And I have lots of ideas for that butler game, maybe I'll make a devlog or a video explaining the concept more in depth soon!
This was so interesting to watch! Definitely a really ambitious idea for the amount of time you had, but the result looks great! I'll check out the game when I get some time ~
This is really helping. I'm struggling to get into development as it feels like a gigantic task I know too little about, and especially coding can be so frustrating. Thanks for the video :)
Glad it was helpful! Coding was super daunting to me for years, but once I started learning by doing it became much more natural. Keep it up, I'm sure you'll make great things!
I saw your thumbnail and i was like SAME! I'm also learning how to make games solo and I've tried learning many engines and coding languages and Ren'py as well as python felt the least daunting to me
I feel the same way! I have some game ideas I know would probably work best in other game engines, but Renpy is so easy to understand that I'm scared to try other options for now, haha. Good luck on your game dev journey!

Barely started the vid, but what is that song you used at the beggining? Sounds familiar
@@plantinapot9169 It's "Game Sync" from Pokemon Black and White! All the songs used in this video are Pokemon background music :]

It's a date ;)
i haven't made any progress with my VN idea in over 3 years, so i'm totally in admiration with your motivation and result!!
