You should leave a Hive tool at every location also helps not to spread stuff from yard to yard 😊. Enjoy your channel 😊. What's the reason you want to send Hives to pollinate isn't that stressful on the Bees 😊. Thanks.
I Always leave a few of my least favorite cheapest hivetools on top of a couple boxes at each beeyard. Most common problem getting there without the most simple tool.
That’s a good idea, we’ll have to pick up a couple extra hive tools. I usually have an extra one in my “bee bucket” in my car but I haven’t seen my hive tool since Kasey “borrowed it” last 🤣😆
I recently heard a podcast (PolliNation Podcast) saying they may not have enough hives for pollination this year. Hopefully yours will help with that and you can get a good price for their work.
That is really interesting, I will have to check out that podcast! I can’t wait to see what they look like when they come back 😁 hopefully the weather fairs out to be nice out there this year 🤞🏼
He seems to have good energy and take stresses well. Congrats! I'm glad his situation seems to be being managed well. Have a great winter guys! Low losses, get to almonds in bursting with bees and come out clean. Merry Christmas ps: you use snelgrove boards as bottom boards!?! pps: yes we are all very blessed. Much GRATITUDE
Thank you for the well wishes! We’re hoping for a great winter too and a great season next year! ☺️ As for the snelgroves, I’m going to have to check them out when they get back in March bc I didn’t think they were snelgrove boards but that little wooden piece makes it look like they are! If they are snelgrove then that could really help with drifting this year. We’ll see. Happy holidays and Merry Christmas! I hope it’s a good one for ya! 🍪
Heard about a beekeeper who suggested putting 2 extra hive tools under a couple of the lids at each location! Also one keeper uses a 5 in 1 tool as a backup tool!
We need to start keeping extra at each yard, we have 3 hive tools that circulate around amongst the yards. I always keep mine in a bucket in the back of my car buttttttttt good ole Kasey likes to “borrow it” sometimes and forget where he put it 😆😉
This was our first time sending bees so there’s still a lot to learn but so far it’s all looking good. Hopefully it continues on that way. I see there have already been some reports of hive theft in CA 😳
Forewarned it's RAINY Winter on the West Coast atm, you all changed course quickly. Had you planned on sending hives to Almonds earlier, kind of seemed like a surprise decision?
You’ll get there if you keep working hard and don’t listen to all of the people that say you can’t do it. Just keep your head down and keep grinding 💪🏼♥️
Did you ever make a video of you and Casey extracting honey? I saw the video of the other guys operation. But, what about your process? Happy Holidays!
We’re currently outsourcing our honey extraction until we have enough money to buy land and build a honey house. We haven’t solely focused on making honey in our bee plans yet so our honey production isn’t anything substantial. We have our sights set on a couple other things before we start building dedicated honey hives but I’ll be sure to talk about it in the channel this year
Good video. You've put so much work into this it's good to see it working out well. Michigan has to be a tough place for a bee business. I was up there last week and didn't see many backyard hives like I do here in Southern Ohio
Michigan is a tough place for a bee business, the season is short, the winters are cold, and the weather can be very unpredictable. Some years it’s hard to get the bees built up big enough to really make a good honey crop. We’ve been discussing some ideas to help with this, so we will see what happens!
Well…spoiler..we just bought a 2005 GMC 🍪 3500 duramax last night, it’s got a flatbed on it and is all ready to go for hauling bees. Things are about to start changing now 😝😁 next..we are looking for a forklift
Want to test myself just how good I can read a man so don't read anything into it.. after y'all left totally awesome Ron KC got to meet the future inlaws

Two tools looking for a tool. 😆
Yep
20:20 hey I think those blue barrels in the back are ones I sold to Ron a few weeks ago!
😆 that right there is what I love about beekeeping, everyone knows everyone. Merry Christmas! I hope your bees are doing well!

@@brianbennett4374 - good question. I’d like to hear the answer as well.

Butts Bees and Little Bits Honeybees the skinny bee man all use the 5 in one tool also.
All good until the bees propolis the lid closed then you can't get at hive tools.

Do you have a tire iron to pop the bottoms
Nice. Hopefully it all works out. I know nothing about sending bees for pollination, I look forward to seeing how this all pans out

I have heard the rate this year is $200/hive for the Almond Pollination.
That’s awesome! I hear farmers are having a hard time finding all the hives they need
