Thank you for sharing your beautiful projects 😊 I normally sit down with you or one of my other podcast friends with a cup of tea and some knitting for a peaceful half hour or so. My favourite thing to do 🥰
Love your vlogs Kelly and sit here in my summer house as much as I can, knitting whilst catching up with you. It’s my couple of hours pleasure before making dinner. The hot water bottle covers are gorgeous, lovely colours. Best wishes and hugs to Geoff🦴 ❤
I love the idea of a special skein knit along! I am making myself use my lovely yarn before buying anything else this year and I have a fewof those to use.❤
So lovely to see you, Kelly. 😍 I love the hat for Megan. And your Ruthie shawl.❤ I've been crocheting the ears for a fawn while watching you. 😘 It's a Mama Made Minis Knotted Lovey for a granddaughter.
Didn't realise you were doing the Southern Wool Show! It will be great to meet you and see your yarn for real! We are coming on Saturday and very much look forward to seeing all our friends there.
Hello... and happy autumn. Definitely autumn by the time I have got around to watching. I have just been sewing the ends in on a sock - so it's that, or knitting or ironing for me as I catch up. And such a lovely idea for a knit-along - a 'your time to shine knit-along'!
Super seeing you here Kelly. Love the knitting and the hot-water bottle covers are brilliant. Hope you will have Christmas kits in the shop site at some point. Fully understand about feeling guilty knitting in the day. It is only since I retired that I have ditched the guilt. When our daughter was tiny I never knit in the day because I felt guilty. Now I don’t have any guilt but it’s taken a long time. I watch podcasts or vlogs ( whatever they are called) when getting dinner ready, after my walk when I sit and knit or when I come to bed. It’s my relaxation time and I love it. See you soon and have a good week - and ditch the guilt. You are knitting for the shop so that is work. ❤
I sat prepping hexagons whilst listening and watching. I don’t see anything wrong with a”infomercial “ after all you are a yarn dyer so why not? You have beautiful yarns and I love to see how you use them. Plus your lovely voice has soothed me and I am calm. ❤️🧶
I actually got a bit teary listening to you speak about being sentimental watching old podcasts and how these people feel like friends. Podcasts such as yours are always a pleasure to watch, but they are particulary comforting in times of stress, anxiety or sadness. Right now I'm unable to knit because my hands aren't behaving. Rather than feeling like salt in the wound, losing the ability to knit right now is definitely difficult, seeing the yarn, the projects, and enjoying the chat makes me still feel like part of the community. I'm deeply grateful for that and I eagerly look forward to your next chat with us. Thank you for taking this time with us - and no, you emphatically do not feel like you were doing an infomercial. This is your life right now and i appreciate that you let us experience it with you. Thank you again for being you and sharing your time and talent.
Hello lovely, sorry for the delay in replying. Firstly can I say you are very much a part of this community whether you knit one stitch a month or 4 pairs of socks you are as valued and welcomed as anybody else. I am sorry your hands are being troublesome, it really is my biggest fear. My mum has really bad arthritis and she now is unable to do so many simple everyday tasks using her hands. Take care of you x
Hello, General Waffle! I usually knit while I watch your podcast. I love your expressions like “go to the spa” and “frog pond.” Makes it so much more fun for knitting activities I don’t usually like to do.
Hi Kelly, lovely video as always and it was great to see Geoff too. Your hat and hot water bottle are beautiful. Your colourwork is very pretty. I will either be crocheting or knitting whilst watching you. Take care 🙂
Special skein knit along sounds brilliant, I’ve actually got quite a few of your skeins and others that I’ve bought and won’t knit as they are too special but that means I’m on a ban from wool shopping at the moment which is counter productive 😕. Rain on the caravan roof is just lovely. Plus yay to autumn 🍂 🍁creeping up on us. I watch podcasts when cooking too but also when I get 5 minutes to sit and knit I’ll watch them then also x
Well Kelly I’m watching you early morning and still in my bed! Husband fancied an early morning walk with the dogs so I’ve spent some time with you before hitting the shower and starting my day! I would love a precious skein knit along as I’ve certainly some deep stash I’ve kept as special! Loved hearing the rain on the caravan as that evoked some lovely memories too! See you at Yarndale x
Thank you Kelly. I love your podcasts and I usually listen while I'm having my lunch break either sat at home or escaping to a local cafe away from the office for some quiet time..always with my knitting. I know what you mean about old friends. I discovered a lot of podcasts during covid and really feel as though I am catching up with friends - I've been lucky enough to meet some and can now count them as real friends! Talking of which, I'm so looking forward to meeting you at Yarndale and am so happy you'll have the Maxine kits. Keep being you Kelly - you are one of the loveliest people I've seen xxx
Love your Diary. I have some of your yarn that I guess I'm saving as it's so special! It's DK and will make a lovely hat so a MALong would be fun. I knit while listening to you,. presently I've got a shawl, a Musselbrough hat and socks that each take a turn. I'll be in the UK next month but I'll be at the wrong end of the country for both shows! Thanks for the diary. Jane
Love the podcast. I have dozens of one fingering weight skeins from fiber shows and visits to shops while traveling. Many times, I can sort through and pull together skeins for a two - or three color shawl. Of course, theirs always an opportunity to visit the local shop to find a match😂 reduce stash by one and add one. 😂
I would love to try colour work so maybe I’ll wait for the Christmas hot water bottle cover. I made a curry for supper while watching you this time Kelly. Thankyou for this video, for your enthusiasm, inspiration and honesty that your makes are not flawless. Mine always have a fudge somewhere! Take care till next week. Xx
Loved hearing the rain - reminded me of my caravan days! I usually watch whilst chilling and knitting on the sofa or getting dinner ready. Those beautiful yarns most certainly need to be worked up! 😘
Love your podcasts. Not at all feeling like an infomercial. It’s such fun to see what you’ve made and since I love love love your yarn I’m always happy to see and hear what you’re up to. And speaking of precious yarn, I’ve just started another granny stripe blanket using an advent of yours from a few years ago and one I received from Emily last year in a swap 38:38 . It’s going to be beautiful! Looking forward to making some water bottle covers for gifts. What a cozy idea!
Never an infomercial! Always a pleasure to see your yarns and what you’re working on! Weve started off together this morning while I was getting ready for work and now you’ve kept me company in the garden while making hearts ❤ xx
Hi Kelly!!! After a long day I was so tickled to see you have a new post!! I would give anything if I lived close enough!! I would LOVE to volunteer to help set up for the show, just getting to see and squish all the beautiful yarn in person would be so worth it!! I look forward to the color options you will have in the shop after the show for the Ruthie Shawl. I have never knit a shawl and this one looks like one I need!! Ha! I thought I was the only person that had yarn I have saved for years and never knit with....because I love them in their skein!! Would love to have a KAL with all the special yarns!! The bottle covers are beautiful as is the hat....all your knitting is beautiful as are you!! I tend to watch podcasts in the evening after I have finished with the evening meal and closed down the kitchen for the night. It is such a treat and wonderful way to end my day with a bit of knitting in my lap and watching your podcast!! Perfect way to end my day and unwind!!! :)
I love watching podcasts, I will get them in when I can. I watch will making tea, loading the dishwasher, washing machine or hanging clothes out on the line. When Trev and myself are together I tend not to, unless he is watching the football or something. I love the idea of knitting a special skein as a knit along. That sounds brilliant. You know that I am a really slow knitter though so I may not get finished in the knit along time. I started a vertices unite for Helen and Fran for their spring shawlathon and I am still working on it! It finished about 2 months ago! 😂
Loved seeing your knitting. I think I may need to get a kit for the hot water bottle and the hat. I listen to you, either whilst knitting or while I’m cooking. Looking forward to next weeks show and tell.
So like what you were saying about how watching a podcast can make the person seem like a lovely friend. I'm lucky in that I can normally sit down to watch a podcast as I'm now retired. I always watch with a mug of coffee and knitting in my hands. I always feel that podcast like yours it's like being with friends and they have just popped round for a natter. All the podcasts I watch are of like minded people who I know would stop and say hello and ask how am I. Podcasts like these are a God send to me when I'm feeling a little bit lonely and lost. I live with my fabulous husband and son but it's the comfort of knowing there's a friendly podcaster chatting away to me that makes me feel content and happy xxx
Hi Marion, I am sorry for the delay in answering your comment. I totally understand the connection you feel with podcasts, it really is a special community x
I retired 6 weeks before the first lock down. Podcasts helped me through the days I couldn't be with family and friends. One podcaster recommended someone and then they recommended someone else. It went on from there. I either knit, crochet or occasionally I will watch whilst ironing. Probably more in the summer when I wear summer tops and my husbands work/stage shirts. I must go through my stash and find some suitable yarns to double up and make some useful items. It's always so calming listening to you chat and see your newest projects.
@@layfamilyyarn still not done it as I've been knitting for a new family member but I must look through my stash. Maybe some hats and fingerless mitts for xmas pressies.
I too listen to knitting podcasts whilst preparing supper. I also listen whilst knitting. Today I watched yours (lovely) and knit on my India jumper. ❤
Sat here with my feet up on the coffee table Checking out the paralympic coverage when the adverts come on. I let them run to help you. I really fancy knitting a hot water bottle cover and may dive in when the weather gets cooler. Hope you have a good couple of shows . Lovely to hear you xx
Started knitting the first sleeve of my Blouse no 2 while watching this. I crocheted a colourwork sweater last winter, that everyone thinks is knitted. Feel intimidated by knitted colourwork, but you have made it sound doable. So maybe one of those hot water bottle covers will be added to my ever growing to do list. I'll be dreaming about that now 😊
I can understand your struggles with feeling guilty about knitting at work, but as you said, it is a way of marketing your product. I like the darker evenings, but I'm out of sorts with the change in the seasons, I look forward to hibernating, but equally I struggle with it too. It sounds as if you live in an idyllic place and all of your knits are beautiful. Thank you for sharing
The temperatures have dropped the last week, I saw some leaves change colour and one of those daddy long legs mosquitoes type bugs has been dancing on my kitchen winter going “ Na na na na na” so I guess fall is approaching fast good and bad in different ways. I love the sun and everything being green and flowering but once those cooler nights in late August sneak in I want to knit so go looking for needles, yarn and patterns. The shawl turned out lovely and I really like the hot water bottle covers, they so remind me of a Debbie Bliss pattern I have for making covers. It’s nearly time to make some, I’ll have a think about who’s on the list and what colours they’d like. No one wears the hats I make anymore so it’s mostly fingerless gloves and socks for gifts. Good luck at the shows, I’m sure you’ll do very well , everyone loves your yarn. 👍🏼🥰🙋🏼♀️
Lovely to see all your knits Kelly . I love watching a podcast while I’m having a bit of crafty time with a cuppa and a project but they also get me though those jobs I dislike doing without a distraction- changing the beds and putting laundry away!
I was puttering in the kitchen while listening to you--chopping veggies/loading the crockpot, loading the dishwasher and making yogurt (since you asked ❤). Have a wonderful day! Also, I just cast on with my 50th bday yarn, in the week before turning 51. Such a treat! We need to treat ourselves.
Love watching whilst working, I am making my needle felting kits, always so peaceful and relaxing to listen/watch you, not waffle or infomercial just a lovely friend (although we've not met!) X
@layfamilyyarn Thank you, it's Felts By Philippa, I have a TH-cam channel too and I'm exhibiting at Yarndale this year so hope to pop round and see your stand x
I enjoy seeing your knitting and the color choices you make. I am also ready for 'hat' season. I loved the way you did the ribbing. Today we had 'lunch' together! 😊Have a great week!
I tend to hang on to special skeins too and have decided that I really should use them. After Yarndale I am planning to have a year of trying to use what is in my stash. Lovely to spend time with you whilst I’m knitting my Ochre Cardigan. 😊
Thanks for sharing your time with us all. Any knitting whether shop knitted or knitting for yourself is good knitting. I tend to watch podcasts when I’m knitting and my current knitting is on a Simon Shawl - it’s a bit of a practice piece to see if I can do a good enough job to then go on and use one of my’precious’ skeins of that Lay Family yarn 😀 that I have coveted.
I look forward to seeing you Kelly I love everything about lay family yarn 🧶 and knitting it makes my day! Your videos, Gayna and Paula get my full attention! 🙌🙌😘🤗 My grandchildren are thrilled to bits with their socks I made using lay family yarn so they will be getting more 😸😘🤗 I love Hats too I’m never without a hat! Iv always got a stitch too many or vice versa so if I don’t feel like undoing I don’t 😹 Who cares 😸 Awww poor Geoff he’s a little darling! The colour work on the hot water bottles are amazing I’ve never tried it so I would love to over the next couple of months! Yes time is speeding up, The best is yet to come ❤️💜❤️🕊️🙏🌎
🥰 I absolutely loved watching this podcast and it didn't sound like an advertisement whatsoever. 😁 I love to see yarn dyers make beautiful creations with their yarns and your yarns yarns and projects are absolutely gorgeous! I wish I could just come and sit with you and make pretty things! 😁 You can knit and I will crochet, and then you & Belinda can teach me how to knit 😂 haha! Thank you so much for the shout out - much love to you!!!! 🥰🥰🥰💕💕💕
The special skeins KAL sounds awesome. I've watched your 3 latest podcasts in reverse order, but I'm able to comment on this one (can only comment from my laptop, not my phone). I already know which special special skein I will be using.
Hello dear Kelly- I’m enjoying seeing you on a weekly basis- a calm and cheerful time 😊 I get the guilts about different things ( though I’m working hard not to 😂) but, if you can make time, I think it’d be great for you to be able to knit some of your samples while you’re at work 😊That way you can work at your preferred speed on your personal projects and feel comfortable 😊 I didn’t think that this was like an infomercial- I’m in Tasmania ( southernmost state of Australia) so I won’t be able to make it to the yarn shows- we’ll not this year anyway!! I love watching Bellle and Stitch also - such a kind and lovely lady- and ,like you, I often catch up with my YT friends while I’m preparing meals . Have a lovely week dear Kelly 😊
Hello Elizabeth, I am sorry to took me so long to reply to you kind and thoughtful comment. Guilt is a funny old thing isn’t it and a largely wasted emotion most of the time. I wore a hat on my walk this morning and I wondering do you ever get cold enough to wear woolly hats?
@@layfamilyyarn hello again dear Kelly and thanks for your lovely reply ☺ to answer your question about is it cold enough to wear woolly hats here in Tasmania- the answer is definitely yes….for about 6 months of the year ! We’re at about 40 degrees south and often known as The Gateway to Antarctica as all the Australian expeditions leave from Hobart, the capital city that we live on the outskirts of. We also sit in the path of the Roaring Forties, winds that come all the way from Africa- so not the warmest of places! We’re just at the start of Spring and our overnight temperature was 3 degrees last night 🥶 We are often said to be the part of Australia that’s most like England and I’d agree with that- we spent 9 weeks in the UK in 2014 and there’s some lovely similarities- I guess the parts you see of Australia are the warmer ones ( which I don’t like btw)- but it’s such a huge country they’re just like different countries. When you leave Melbourne on a flight to Europe you’re going for 5 hours before you’ve actually crossed the coast of Western Australia 🤣 hope you’re well and happy 😃
Always playing with yarn during podcasts, usually knitting, but this time I’m trying to finish some crochet. That way I can make sure to have a good look at the lovely things being shown. Thanks again for keeping me company ❤
I watch mostly on my laptop, like now, I got in from work, put the kettle on and I'm stitching a little activity book for my granddaughter whilst I listen to you chat about your knits. Carry on with showing us your products - I can't think of a nicer way to spend 40 mins!
Excited to see you at SWS! I will be a bit shy but will try and be brave to say hello. I said a hug on Gayna’s Patreon but prob too much 🫣😁 You may have to put me a Kingfisher Ruthie aside. 😍 Last night we all walked home from our craft group in the dark for the first time this half of the year. I knit hottie bottie covers for gifts last year and very well received they were! I’ve just spent time with you on a Cword cross stitch as it’s post dinner. See you soon! Amo x
It would be great if you could give some insight on the color work hot water bottle cover, your voice is very calming,I am working on Summer Lee,s color work sock cuffs whilst I am watching you, the hot water bottle seems a bit daunting, for me anyway.

Looking forward to seeing you at the Southern Wool Show xx
Did you have a great show Liz?
@@layfamilyyarncertainly did - it was lovely to see you and Nick
Your crochet blanket is going to look wonderful 😍. So lovely to spend some time with you today catching up xxx
Love the hot water bottle covers. I usually knitting whilst watching you. Absolutely love watching you x
Love watching whilst working, I am making my needle felting kits, always so peaceful and relaxing to listen/watch you, not waffle or infomercial just a lovely friend (although we've not met!) X
I have never tried needle felting, it looks so cool. What’s you website or etsy shop…..share for us to go and have a look😀
@layfamilyyarn Thank you, it's Felts By Philippa, I have a TH-cam channel too and I'm exhibiting at Yarndale this year so hope to pop round and see your stand x
@@gracieandsapphire yay! A new to me YT channel and i get to then meet you at Yarndale x
I like how you said after Yarndale I will knit from stash🤣
Ahh, lightbulb moment when you explained about putting colors together. I watched while cooking dinner for 7, as always a delight to watch
Hooray for regular cuppas with you 🧡🧡🧡
Thanks for sharing your time with us all.
Hi i hope you are well. So in the ten days since you left this comment how is your simon coming along? I am sure it is more than good enough. X
@@layfamilyyarn Thanks! It’s looking good so far. Now I know how to do mosaic knitting- no stopping me. Happy knitting 🧶🧶
I look forward to seeing you Kelly I love everything about lay family yarn 🧶 and knitting it makes my day!
Your videos, Gayna and Paula get my full attention! 🙌🙌😘🤗
My grandchildren are thrilled to bits with their socks I made using lay family yarn so they will be getting more 😸😘🤗
I love Hats too I’m never without a hat!
Iv always got a stitch too many or vice versa so if I don’t feel like undoing I don’t 😹
Who cares 😸
Awww poor Geoff he’s a little darling!
Mine is zebra yarns. I am keeping those for a special occasion 😂
I love your idea for a special kal!
Amo x
Hi Ami, it was such a joy ti chat, giggle and hug with you at the weekend. You really are a joy to be around. Your craft group are very lucky x
First!
It would be great if you could give some insight on the color work hot water bottle cover, your voice is very calming,I am working on Summer Lee,s color work sock cuffs whilst I am watching you, the hot water bottle seems a bit daunting, for me anyway.
Hi Rita, I will do a little video about the hot water bottle soon, I promise x
@@layfamilyyarn thank so much , whenever you are ready, I see you’ve been very busy recently, take care.
Watc you while knitting
Hi Kelly awhile ago I messaged you on your website about Gayna's yarn that she dyed with you but have never received a response.
Hi, i am so sorry. Can you send me another email and i will keep a close eye out for it😊
@@layfamilyyarn ok
Love your podcasts. Not at all feeling like an infomercial. It’s such fun to see what you’ve made and since I love love love your yarn I’m always happy to see and hear what you’re up to. And speaking of precious yarn, I’ve just started another granny stripe blanket using an advent of yours from a few years ago and one I received from Emily last year in a swap 38:38 . It’s going to be beautiful! Looking forward to making some water bottle covers for gifts. What a cozy idea!
