Whenever I complain about dirt not completely caking my window screen like WRC 8 9 10, or rain not completely making my window screen unplayable without window wipers like dirt 4/ 2.0 and snow not being represented at all only to get the " that wouldn't be fun at all because I can't see the track" THATS REALISM! The cockpit xperience should be the first thing they get right in a rally game period! The challenge of rally is literally the environment and the environment is not being represented correctly at all! No challenge. No fun! I wanna see water AND rain caking uo my windows! Not just rain on a perfectly clean window. Dirty water in water splashes that i need to clean off with window wiper water!
The shitty rain and snow effects are not a limitation of Unreal Engine. Dakar Desert Rally also uses Unreal Engine and everything looks several orders of magnitude better
Good to know! I don't understand why it has been so ignored given how important weather is to rally. Weather is important to all racing but ESPECIALLY mixed surface racing, mud and ice, etc. When you think of rally, you think of the extremes a car can endure. Not a light breeze carrying a rain drop or two and a couple snowflakes.
The performance may have improved but the update has made it crash every half hour on PS5. All of my regular friends kept dropping out and re-joining in online lobbies every half hour or so too. I gave up after a while.😔
I just can not believe people defending this game. They will patch it. They will patch it. So you paid good money again for a game that wasn't finished at release. Version 1.8.. give me a fucking brake. I will stick with WRC Generations it feels more alive than this piece of crap.👍🏻
This game uses the same game engine as Hogwarts Legacy, which looks amazing and Assetto Corsa Competizione, which looks really good as well. Both had excellent graphics and weather effects. There is no excuse for EA to release such a shoddy title.
As they have mentioned, this is a base to work from, I just hope they continue to update the games graphics and performance for free and don't try to charge for a new game.
just a question, is your mic far away / game loud and therefore you have to be a little louder with your voice? or is it just my ears being funny haha, I bought this game and tried it like 3 times so far.. I just end up starting other rally games instead as it is so buggy and broken. I have a g29 atm and it is realllyyyy weird on tarmac for some reason as well! the FFB settings are all weird or something from the start and one would think g29 wheels would have a default setup going as it is probably the most common wheel! but I'm waiting on a Moza r9 I ordered and I'm so excited to try it out rally and racing with it! great video!
Yes my mic is a bit far away, I have tried videos with the mic right up to my mouth and it sounded a lot better but I recorded this during a normal stream and just edited it. I am trying to figure out a better solution to my sound during streams though. I am displeased by how it sounds. I am working on acquiring some gear that will help I think.
@@SleepyPantsSimRacing that's the problem of meta link app on PC I think. coz after update of quest link app my quest 2 can never connect to PC, I then used steam link it worked just fine. So definitely something wrong with quest link app.
What, did EA ruin the game? Dirt Rally was solid, as was Dirt Rally 2.0. Codemasters put out top notch titles when they were a standalone company. They get purchased by EA and they put out a shoddy product? What's the deal with that?
@@SleepyPantsSimRacing just how it's cut up. I've listened to plenty of full length, uncut stuff from your channel and enjoyed it, but this was kinda a "just the facts" type stream. No need to cut stuff up all the time though as I know it's a lot of work
@jericks06 ahhh, I see. I plan on doing this for future content, really helps with production. It's one of the reasons I'm trying to get my visuals and audio better so I can use it for videos. I have much better audio figured out now since I have made this video. :)

The rain on the windshield is this game is horrible. I just wished devs would looks at ACC to see how it is done. I am also slowly (6 months in and after 600 hrs of play time) at a point where this game is going to have to start bringing quality of life improvements and at least start adding a couple of the many suggested improvements on the Forum or I am moving on.
The rain in ACC has continually been improved to the point where it's really good now. Why WRC can't do it is curious seeing as it's the same game engine
I have been more or less forced by my situation to play it more as I still can't get rbr running properly on my system anymore. Beam ng and assetto corsa are my only personally worthy alternatives and beam just isn't quite there in terms of user friendliness and assetto physics for anything besides paved surfaces is hit or miss. Ea wrc has been my only solid option, I have been enjoying my time, I think I'm around 100 or so hours on the game. At 600 I can't say for sure if I would still be satisfied but for now I am still enjoying it as a whole. The small annoyances do add up though. I often get frustrated to the point of giving up on the game temporarily. This game has definitely tarnished my view of codemasters. I really hope they get this game perfect before they release anything else. They REALLY need to deliver if they want to keep users trust.
Months passed, they couldn't manage a game. On the contrary, they corrupted it even more. WRc vehicles started to slide ridiculously and not hold on to the road like in WRC generations. Its usage and physics have become extremely difficult. Sun reflection is still a disgrace, especially on the Portugal stage. EA company can't do anything. It's all just fake advertising. A game not worth the money. We have to play because there is no rally alternative with current stages.
I don't think the cars feel harder to drive. But I agree, they still don't feel right to me. My biggest concern is the damage model is too forgiving on both normal and especially on hardcore. I feel it doesn't punish people enough for driving recklessly. I also agree about the lighting still being off as well. Especially the exposure, it's still not right. It seems they are trying to replicate a camera and not a human eye.
@@SleepyPantsSimRacinga bit of both tbh. As I sit close to my tv as I’m on a sim right rig is makes it worse. Doesn’t help that I use a 50inch tv I suppose but it’s still looks particularly ugly. The rain looks like blocky jelly and the snow flakes leave a trail behind them. I don’t think it will be fixed tbh. Such a shame
Your going to be disappointed once you get VR going. It is definitely the worst looking sim in VR even with eye tracked DFR and a 4090. It's in beta but I don't have a lot faith in coders that have never done VR b4 tackling on a UE4 sim.
I got it to work once after spamming the meta software. I was not impressed but also I blame some of that on the fact the gpu I'm running is not supported by meta.
@@SleepyPantsSimRacing Don't blame that on your gpu cause I have a 4090 and managed to run dynamic foveated rendering on my Quest pro and I'm not impressed. Well give it some time and hope for the best I guess.
@pmacnz well I guess I test for the inadequacies that affect me most. You are correct in thinking in that direction but I also make these videos to bring attention to things that I feel are important. I appreciate your comment though, out of context it would seem odd for me to be randomly testing things. I have been asking for these to be updated since the launch and I was happy to see one of my biggest annoyances has been fixed! ;)

Though I have the Samsung 32:9 57" super utrawide

Quest 3 is compatible with my 7900xt. It gives a message saying it's not up to the job but ignore it as they work just fine even on high settings.
I tried for about an hour or more. It worked one time but after I updated the meta app it never worked again.

Did you switch from NVIDIA drivers? DDU is a great piece of software to remove all remenants of NVIDIA drivers if that’s the case.

Seems as though that might end up being the case. I feel this game was a bit of a misstep, hoping that they will right the wrongs of this title.
