one of the more enjoyable filler episodes for sure. It was in this episode that Grandis helped her confirming that her feeling for Jean was love, and they both came to understand what it really meant to be loving someone. As Grandis had put it so delicately, "you'll be able to eat meat and fish for him someday"
Tee-hee, omg! I have been looking for this video for forever!! I absolutly love this song, I almost died the first time I heard it! "Come give me a try sometime, im tasty" (that was in the english version) LOL ♥ Jean!
I love the way the music slowly starts to increase, while ever worsening lyrics start to make Nadia Fume with anger! Another of gene's botched inventions.
my god, y'know it sounds wierd to me, hearing jean sing and repeating my name over and over XDD i wasnt looking at the screen and it sounded odd, hearing my name like that, i was laughing so hard near the end too jean tries so hard XD
It's funny how after this scene, Grandis confronts Nadia and acts why she reacted so harshly to the song after which Nadia says she doesn't know even though, honestly, she had a good reason. She only hated it when the song became a string of criticisms. Maybe if she heard more, Jean would have said 'but I still love you' or something about those lines, but man, he was really stretching out the criticism there.
Agreed. It felt all the more stupid, too, to have Nadia do so after she had admitted how important Jean was to her and hey, embraced him nude. I'm sorry, but having her flip on him after that feels very out of place and infuriating. I actually heard Anno say he would've written out the whole Africa village story, as well as most of the island stuff (in addition to this episode) if he were to do this show all over again.
It's hard to say actually. I would guess that she has more of a Brazilian / Amazonian bloodline. But she is a descendant of the Atlantians after all and who knows what they were.
It was a bad idea to have a singing episode in the first place, especially one where each song is accompanied by recycled clips from the series. I bet this episode was made to cut down on costs. Of course, compared to the other filler eps, this one isn't the worst--that belongs to the Lincoln Island and Africa villlage episodes--the concepts there didn't have any substance or plausibility, and the animation was dreadful. An unfortunate taint on an otherwise charming series.
Although on the flipside, it DOES succeed in making Nadia re-evaluate her behavior and deciding to change her attitude. Again, however, this is a pretty dull episode--one that can be easily skipped without wrecking continuity.
Oh man, this episode is so pointless. The concept of Jean getting Nadia to reevaluate her behavior is a good one, but it's executed very cartoonishly. The show, in short, should have written out this episode, as well as the useless island and African episodes--both really damage the show.

Jean is one of my favourite characters, he is brave, clever, generous, optimistic, reliable, funny
Me too , he's amazing
ナディアの彼が好意で作ったから嬉しさと本音はちょっと退屈だなって思ってる表情が好き

@queenashouka Nadia looks a lot like a native american from brazil (except for the blue eyes)
But it was fun watching it all self destruct!
