That The Boys are Back in Town-country/jazz jam was so cool! 👌
That color is just so perfect
I have this guitar with rw board, looks even better (generally I love the looks of rw in a tele, not so much in strat though, don't know why, has something to do with the headstock)
That bridge pup really sings when you roll the tone off a bit. The neck is nice also. Really smooth.
This video cost me over a thousand dollars but I sure enjoying having a mystic red telecaster. A matching strat to go with it would have been nice! lol
My 99’ Candy Cola colored Tele has a cream colored pick guard. I think it looks so much better than the white ones. Great video, by the way.
Great review.. I was looking for a review for this guitar with an alder body.. It sounds amazing!
Such an awesome guitar, I love mine. Great demo and awesome feel and tone on your part.
I don’t know why music shops/people who demonstrate guitars/luthiers in their presentations, do not state the action
height at the 12th fret in mm or whatever. This defines neck comfort and playability. The neck is the heart of the guitar.
Usually every specification but this one is recorded. It is easily the most important spec.
Why? Because it is the guitars invitation for you to pick it up, play it, keep playing it and eventually buy it.
A guitar with a low fast action will sell much faster than one you can drive a train under believe me!
Making an action higher is much more simpler than lowering which may involve fretwork, bridge work, nut filing,
truss rod adjustment etc etc…and it can prove to be very expensive. For this reason, guitars should be factory set-up at the lowest action possible without fret rattle. I realise many like a high action-good! Hello Stevie!
Raising it though is less of a problem than lowering it. I have had 2 brand new Fenders that have
had to go straight to a luthier they were so unplayable when delivered.
I have the exact same guitar, loving it!
You are a fantastic player! Really enjoy watching and listening.
Nice groove where you can hear the changes without hearing them!!!
That color looks great, wish i could buy one...
NstuffMusic + Mark Lucas = I watch the video in full. Top notch demos, website, & very professional. Although......I do miss the "Pittsburgh Mark" voice at the end of videos. LOL! Keep up the PERFECT work! God Bless.
Mark Lucas, my new guitar hero
That is a beautiful guitar!
Thank you Mark, nice review as always
Excellent review and outstanding guitar playing as we have come to expect from Mark Lucas!
First, let me say I enjoy your reviews where you not only do a nice clean demo of the instrument, but also take the time to explain its features in an even-handed way. Other than the available colors, what if any changes were made to the American Standard Telecaster between the 2012 and the 2013 model years. My 2012 appears to have the same Twisted Tele / Broadcaster pickups, the "belly cut" and what looks like the same bridge with the 6 stamped stratocaster-style saddles. Help me out here - I need an excuse to add another Telecaster to my collection.
I see what he means about the Twisted Tele. Has just enough brightness to seem chimey even. Bell-like.
Love it beside the body contour
I'm picking up one today! 2012 American standard telecaster I'm jade!
Woa what a groove...!
Great demo with fantastic guitar playing. This guitar sounds amazing. Thanks for a brilliant video.
Red is the new Red...Love it!
+gRosh08 the strat has a cool dark red color.
I love Red!
+gRosh08 I love Lamp! Guess the movie reference!!
Cool opening riff.
It's Your Thing, Isley Brothers
Love the tone
Color very good!!!
Just got one love it! Officially a tele owner!
Love the Royal Scam outro...
This guy could paly a ford fender and it would sound awesome. Love your reviews.
simply perfect
I just bought one, it's fantastic. I never knew the color, MYSTIC red, cool!
You can not order custom colors from the factory but we have a really good luthier that could custom paint your guitar after market. The cost could be any where between $250.00 - $450.00 depending on the finish.
Is the neck gloss on the front and satin on the back?
Thanks for the always great videos. It is nice to listen to a "relaxed" person. I do like Phil X too though.
SRV sounds with the twisted tele. I can even play metal on this guitar.
+sam boyd Single Coils can handle heavy metal tones surprisingly well.
I'm playing my black tele on my channel.
This is a firts revue of Fender i see on YT where the guitar is tuned and a guy actually can play ;)
my 2013 is on its way to me now. I usually take the metal cover off of the tele neck pickup. it seems to get it a bit more focused and less muddy. I may not have to on this one with the custom shop pickups.
update... the neck pickup is well balanced with the bridge pickup. my tele is natural with rosewood fingerboard. I swapped out the black pickguard for a fender American mint one. loving this guitar.
Yes sir gloss on front and satin on back.
This guitar has like a country vibe to it
Great sound
Mystic Red, what a beautiful color! Do I have room for yet another Tele in the stable?
MY 2012 which was made in Dec is Mystic Red also-(confirmed by calling Fender) It is absolutely beautiful but was available in the late 2012 models
My 2012 Mystic Blue Strat was also made in December. I emailed Fender to make sure I wasn't getting a partscaster since everyone said the mystic colors came out in 2013. It's too bad they discontinued them.
Sweet Tele!
i'm in love
What would you say about the american special vs the american standard? Is it worth the money to get the american standard?
We miss mark lucas and his beautiful demo !
Matt has that guitar.
my god! can't decide! tone alone 50s Classic tele or American standard
You're damn good
How much? Smooth as silk? any rock tones like the Stones?
sorry I can change the caps of the telecaster? to my overdrives to sound heavier?
nice
They have two variations of Candy Cola for American Standard Telecaster? Candy Cola / 011-3200-712 and 011-3202-706, Candy Cola? What does it means?
Does Nstuff do custom colors ?
If the American Standard is in you price budget I would go with that. The American Standard has more attention to detail in the neck. They round the edges of the fretboard and stagger the tuners. Also I like the Custom Shop Fat 50's pickups they sound great and you get a hardshell case. I believe it's around a $300.00 difference it price. Hope this helps but if you need more give me a call at 412.828.1003 ask for Jason.
Notice @ 3:36 when you flips the guitar over how crooked the neck mounting plate is on his example. That isn't the first one I've seen like that, either.
Nice quality control, Fender. I have Chinese made guitars with perfectly straight neck plates.
What are you smoking? Not crooked at all and anything that looks off has to do with the angles and lighting.
Glenn Sandagata Apparently you haven't had many recent American Fenders pass through your hands. A full 1/3 of them are junk, with crooked hardware, finish flaws, and overall lousy playability. Have contacted Fender more than once and gotten a rude "let them eat cake" attitude each time. Neva again.
Yes George, my Jack & Danny strat and tele for example which costs a fraction of these here
Sorry mate, it's not crooked. You've been fooled by the glare, watch just before he flips it back and you'll see.
Looks perfectly straight to me.
cual es su serie?
, para hacer el pedido.
can someone tell me what the first tune is at the beging of the video
Damn, isn't she beautiful!
0113200712 has a Rosewood fingerboard and 0113202712 is Maple.
I just don’t see the point of a 6 saddle traditional style Tele and thankfully I don’t own any.
great playing but man that guitar sounds horrible, what is the deal with the settings? its so tinny,, and i have the same guitar lol
Bodycut again? Why Fender why!?
Its a Fender Deluxe Reverb it's $859.99 with coupon codes: fender35 and sonic100 at nstuffmusic
A real tele player can play easily with any kind of tele!
Will a ash tray cover fit over this
apple invented Electric Guitars..TRUE!
Apart from...(:
Why have they bastardised it with the Strat like curvature at the back?
I can only assume Fender has more money than common sense.
i get the selling effort, but guitar sounds prety average
+lokotron1 Sound is in the ear of the beholder. This guitar isn't for everyone. Which, in all honesty, can be said about every guitar ever produced in the history of ever...
Yeah, the American Standard Teles are some of my least favorite Teles. The slightly less expensive American Specials are WAY better...in my opinion.
+ndtealmusic from playing both to me the american standard pickups are certainly thicker warmer than the special.....and n3's in the deluxe's dont quite do it like a true single coil. the standard also has individual saddles so you get more accurate pitch than you would get from a special. next would be the belly cut.......which just feels better, and because I like to vocalize its a little easier to expand my diaphragm with a the belly cut haha.
