The “Indian Mound” is what we call the spot you pointed out for worming where Peters hits main lake at the State Park Marina. Popular, but productive spot!

Would love to get you on one of local lakes sometime, Wesly Strader has been here a few times with a friend of mine, it would be great to get the 2 of you together on Lake Dartmoor.

Hail hail from Monroe Co, Ky!!! Barren River headwaters. Thanks for showcasing my local lake! We have a HUGE Duckweed bloom this year way up the river around Brown’s Ford, and above the bridges up Skaggs and Peter Creek. Never seen any here before. There are millions of fresh log jams and debris mats that cover acres in size, because of a recent flood upstream. The lake is only about 8” high. The upper lake and creek arms are already saturated with shad. I’m betting a good flippin’ stick or a punch rig will be the money maker until the lake begins to draw down in September. Planning on making a trip up? This is the second time I’ve heard you mention Barren this year. And you just so happened to have a Barren map laying out?? Lol. If you come, be careful, lots of debris from Walnut Creek upstream.

Really? Barren has duckweed now? May have to check that out. Been mainly fishing Nolin lately but have always loved Barren.

My theory on a 12” worm.
They have the ability to draw strikes from farther away, because they are bigger and displace more water. I ONLY cast them on structure and deep brushpiles, and drag them over shallower dropoffs in early fall in lakes’ headwaters. I use 14” or even 16” in deep water, like drops on Ky Lake. For the same reason. I flip a 6” senko, 8” paddle tail, or 8” finesse wrom. No curls = less tangle on brush.

Thanks Jacob. Started using dropshot this summer and it is working well here in Tennessee on lakes in Crossville area. I have been catching them on a watermelon seed fluke nose hooked. Going to try your techniques. Great information for August baits.

I really like the tips you gave on the drop shot setups .i like to use your small mouth setup here in san diego for largemouth bass. But if itngets snagged alot i will go to your largemouth weedless drop shot setup ..when there isnalot of snags.

I’d gladly take 90 degrees. 106 here in Texas and I don’t run AC, ever, because I work outside and don’t want to get accustomed to it. We’re at 90 before 10 am.

I don't bend out the clip, leave it and just tie a couple half hitches like he did. That way the knot doesn't slip out but it will break and save the hook if hung.

Not really, they would just be in the actual creek that feeds it or the flat adjacent to the creek

I do seem to have a lot more control with my right hand versus my right foot.
Off the subject, speak to the fact that inflatable life "preservers" class3 are to be worn at all times while in the boat on the water. Read instructions.
