    I know this vid is a couple years old but it’s still concise and explained very clearly. Video angles are also good. Thanks for your efforts. I wish there were more women like you!

    I watch another axle removal video where the guy didn't have to disassemble the whole parking brake he just unbolted the cable bolts leading down the side of the frame which gave him enough clearance to pull the whole axle out something you might consider next time thanks for the videos

    Thanks, I recently bought one and I wasn't sure if I had to disassemble the diff like a GMT. Also having the proper drum took kit makes reassembly way easier. They are cheap on ebay.

    A quick question: is the axle assembly common to the 4 runner and tacoma? I may have bent my axle and I am looking to replace it with a junk part.

    • @RDGarage
      @RDGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! It looks like the axles are the same for 2003-2009 4 runners and for the 2007-2009 FJ. I believe the Tacoma's are different.

      @@RDGarage thanks for your guidance! I swapped out the axle in my garage. The only issue I have now is that I looked down the axle housing and it looks like there is a sheet metal sleeve near the diff that is oddly bent. I have no idea what it is. The diff is whining and I'm wondering if it is the cause. I got a picture of it if you think you can identify it. It certainly seems out of place.

    Will a leaking seal already damage the bearing?

    • @RDGarage
      @RDGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, not immediately. As long as you didn't run it low on fluid or suck containments back through the leaking seal. When replacing the seal, always make sure the vents are clear. Sorry I didn't answer sooner, youtube doesn't always notify me when I have a new comment. :( Thanks for watching!!
