My reasoning for being attached to Firefly is not her cute looks, it's because she's suffering despite the "role" she was given. My heart cannot ignore those who suffer. That's where quite a few of my online friendships start. I see someone suffering online, I go to them to comfort them, and our friendship grows from there. It's not me manipulating them, nor giving falsehoods. Suffering is what can have me start a bond with someone. Gosh do I emotionally suffer every day. Otto is the type of guy that will destroy everyone's life for his selfish needs but he will do it in a way that everyone will benefit from it in the end. That's why he prepared everyone for the final descent of honkai. He may be a vilain and may all hate him for what he did, but deep down we know that without him we would all be dead... it's a strange feeling

Kallen was the only light Otto had, and when she died because of him, that broke him, then he spent 500 years, searching for an answer to bring her back, as she was the only light in the crushing darkness of his life. Because of all that, he was willing to sacrifice anyone and anything, if it meant he had hope to potentially reclaim that one glimmer of light that illuminated his life in the painful dark shroud of his life. He doesn't even care if he cannot be with her in the end, as seen in "Thus Spoke Apocalypse". If it meant that one light in the darkness of his life lived once more, that's all he wants. A side effect of this search to bring back that light, was giving humanity the strength needed to confront Honkai itself. His evil actions are unforgivable, don't get me wrong, but I still cannot help but feel sadness for him. He was the first antagonist in general, that I ever cried for. Not because of those he harmed, but because of what he lost that brought him on the path of evil. I dunno, I'm too kind. If anyone wants to hate Otto at all, you're completely valid for hating him, most of what went wrong and those who suffered, was his fault. He is the reason another Himeko died. Why I say another? Because no Himeko in MiHoYo history has ever gone through the stories of their home games, without dying. In fact, the exact kind of monster that led to Kallen's death (since the entire thing was due to Otto's family being so selfishly evil they'd make Hannibal tell'em to chill out). Despite it all, Otto chose the single most hardheaded and short-sighted way to help Kallen. Instead of going after his sister (which he could and even admits to), his first thought was "let's release an omnicidal monster in the middle of a residential area".

Otto is the best villain I've ever seen (I have not seen much, but still), he somehow managed to make me feel bad for him at the end while wanting to rip his face out with my bare hands :)
He intentionally became a villain on his own and to everyone(even his friends and comrades) to fulfil his one and only wish(to save and revive kallen).
Now that I know the full story, i also see similarities between dan feng and otto in how both did the extreme to try and save their loved one and had it completely backfire. Just that otto went on to do much more

At least 90% of the problems untill his death were caused by him or had his assistance, including the events caused by world serpent!! Puting the meme, "hate otto understand otto become otto", aside, the reason he is so liked is beacuse he didnt try to justifi his atrocities, he knew he would die as a villain and he wanted to be forgoten by the world, his last "good deed" was making sure the protagonists were mature and powerfull enough to save the world after he died. We hate him, then we understood him, he was not forgiven, but he earned the respect. One of the best writen characters in Hoyoverse
I really like this summarized story of each character in the Honkai verse. I've never played both HI3 and Star Rail but I'm quite interested in their lore.

He's not like HSR antagonists who are currently limited by the concept of their paths. I think Aventurine is the most compelling post-Otto antagonist, but I still think that Otto is a better antagonist.

Naw, Genshin is too happy for great tragedies, that won't happen. It's why I completely quit the game. It was far too happy that I grew bored of it. I don't like people suffering, but at the same time, a story without enough tragedy to make me feel anything, is too boring. fyi, I quit during the Sumeru arc of Genshin, so I at least completed the Inazuma arc that many Genshin players HATE

Actually both didn't even cause the problems outside harming the casts mental faculties. Neither are simple enough to be heroes or villains. Otto was the more successful one though as Kevin was going for worst case scenario.

@@IveBeenWithBruma Naive or heroic? Some people can't stand around seeing monsters butcher innocents when they have the power to stop it. And Otto knew very well that Kallen wouldn't have ran away. He knew it because, if you read the lore, she surrendered when they came to get her. She didn't because she didn't want Otto's sister to kill more people. Despite it all, Otto chose the single most hardheaded and short-sighted way to help Kallen. Instead of going after his sister (which he could and even admits to), his first thought was "let's release an omnicidal monster in the middle of a residential area".
@@lyravain6304 Not heroic when you put yourself in that situation to begin with. Kallen knew her family was manipulating her and she went along with it. This is what led her to her confrontation with the Pheonix who humored her faster than she could blink.

Otto is the best villain I've ever seen (I have not seen much, but still), he somehow managed to make me feel bad for him at the end while wanting to rip his face out with my bare hands :)
He intentionally became a villain on his own and to everyone(even his friends and comrades) to fulfil his one and only wish(to save and revive kallen).
Now that I know the full story, i also see similarities between dan feng and otto in how both did the extreme to try and save their loved one and had it completely backfire. Just that otto went on to do much more

Puting the meme, "hate otto understand otto become otto", aside, the reason he is so liked is beacuse he didnt try to justifi his atrocities, he knew he would die as a villain and he wanted to be forgoten by the world, his last "good deed" was making sure the protagonists were mature and powerfull enough to save the world after he died.
We hate him, then we understood him, he was not forgiven, but he earned the respect. One of the best writen characters in Hoyoverse

Hoyo has yet to create an antagonist that would surpass Otto. He's not like Genshin antagonists who lean towards morally gray of different shades. He's not like HSR antagonists who are currently limited by the concept of their paths. I think Aventurine is the most compelling post-Otto antagonist, but I still think that Otto is a better antagonist.

Naw, Genshin is too happy for great tragedies, that won't happen. It's why I completely quit the game. It was far too happy that I grew bored of it.
