That was so nice & generous. If you don't feel like trying other genres, outside of challenges, don't. You'll know when it's time. I'm a senior citizen reader of many, many, many years and it's harder to surprise me. So, I tried a new genre and loved it. But, it took years.
So true! I can definitely see myself changing what I love over the next few years! There are so many great books out there
One of the things that I absolutely love that you do is how you actually reach out and reply back to others and that is truly sweet of you, it definitely makes my day. 😊 I remember I dm'd a makeup artist years ago saying how i enjoy watching their makeup tutorials, but they also never replied back as well which I do find that wild.

Can I recommend a book? I know you’ve tried dipping your toe into fantasy, I think you should try The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune. It’s about a foster home for magical children that’s on the verge of shutting down. It has aspects of found family and focuses on the message of “don’t judge a book by its cover”. It’s more of a cozy fantasy. I think it’s something you’d like a lot. Plus it’s a queer read! ❤

Yes I love cozy mysteries. Over the last couple of months I’ve been trying to read more diverse genres and almost all of the books I’ve dnf’d. So I’m going to keep trying but I’m a cozy mystery /whodunit mystery reader. I enjoy what I enjoy

I'm almost done with Fourth Wing and I remember you stressing there's not much romance. So I was surprised that's the main thing I'm enjoying about the book lol. I was expecting a lot of fantasy-ish plot. I just thought it was funny and interesting how differently people perceive books. I've also not read much romance, YET, so that's probably why it was a lot for me still.

Friendships genuinely confused me
I like to branch out from time to time. As I age I’m open to a FEW genres that aren’t romances by black authors. I’m not a fantasy girly and I ain’t reading any books based in slave times won’t event consider them nope. I’ve said before I love your channel because you stand on what you like. Reading is a relaxing getaway from me ion wanna be stressed or on edge reading ANY book. Give me black women getting LOVED DOWN every time. Do you have any black male romance writers?

The first book took me awhile to get into just because I wasn’t used to how descriptive and world-buildy it was coming from YA romance books, but towards the latter half of the book I was in ❤️ I’d love to see you make a video review if you ever do pick it up!

@@ShawnaciSchroeder I finished the audiobook last night and I’m glad I listened to it. The performance was really good. I found myself laughing out loud at some parts and overall it wasn’t as bad as I thought. 3/5 for me!
I LOVED Butcher and Blackbird!!🩷 Yes it’s very graphic but try to just focus on the relationship… I thought it was good… wait til you get to the ice cream part…you’re going to gasp!! I already can hear you saying “ewwww” 😂🫣😬
