    Hand held Metal detector will help you pinpoint the metal. Last one I found was a nail. I was able to core drill it out. Took an hour 😂. Ended up using that hole for wire pull in a desk top. Saved my length. If you don’t need full lengths then I would definitely do what you suggested cut that part off get some shorty slabs move to the next one. !! Can’t wait to see what kinda projects you come up with, with that beautiful looking wood. Stay safe my guy. !!

      Yeah, I have a cheap little metal detector, and I used it some, but it never went off. When you see what is in there, you'll see why!

    Great video as always! Make sure when stacking the lumber that your stickers are wider than the boards. Nice work on these big slabs!!

      When I was watching this video back I was hoping someone would tell me if that’s an issue. I wasn’t sure. I was just using what I had handy…

      @@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead It is, and please level the ground before stacking. Your boards will take shape of the uneven surface

    Lucas: save some big thick stuff for table legs. You will have some really nice tables there. One for each household. Total of 3. Lucas, I have been outside enjoying God's creation. Lots of snow and more coming down again. Can't wait for summer. Take care and stay safe.

    If the forks you have for the rear of your kubota will fit the rear of the TYM you might be able to use 1 of your wood totes for balilist

    • @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead

      Yes! The problem is that they are the forks that are currently on the front. 😂 We are going to fix that soon!

    This is easier to see something like the blade tracking backwards in person then on video? Because I saw nothing. Just curious. Keep up the good work.

    • @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead

      Ah, yeah, so what I’m referring to is how the blade rides on the wheels under the cover so you wouldn’t be able to see it. I usually check it off camera. Good question! 👍

  • @TristarFirewood

    Congrats on the new TYM! Does it have auto throttle, or what some manufacturers call Linked Pedal? I've found it so helpful when maneuvering slowly and making very precision loader movements. My first Kioti CK had it and I used it 95% of the time. I have now upgraded to a Kioti DK and it did not come with this feature, and I quickly realized just how handy it is.

    Do you have somewhere to send your blades to have them touched up and reset? If not, i know of a place that does that.

  • @D2500R

    As someone who changes band saw blades frequently, there is a safer way to "open" them. Start pulling the blade apart until it starts to want to open on its own, quickly spread your arms apart while throwing the blade away from your body. It will open and land on the ground and you won't have as much of a chance to get cut. Just an idea

    Fyi when you sticker your slabs the stickers need to be wider than the slabs not only for stability but it will also help keep the slabs flat

      Those are the 16.9x24 tires you can get them with 17.5s if you want more clearance. I wanted as big of tire as I could get.

    • @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead

      I did. I don’t always check every cut but I was checking this log occasionally and even after hitting something it didn’t pick up. You’ll see why in a week or so…

  • @JohnfromEngland

    You need to invest in a metal detector cause it will save plenty of blades and this will pay for it self in time

    • @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead

      I couldn’t get mine to pick up what was in this log even after I hit it and knew where to check. You’ll see why when the discovery video comes out. Lol

    if you had a quick connect on the rear of the tractor you can do cheap ballast by chaining a log to the hooks of the quick connect
    get it big enough to outweigh the box blade also the upper hook makes a good pulling point when you have the quick connect on lower it over the log chain and go

    • @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead

      I am getting close to getting the ballast issues take. Care of. Stay tuned!
