It’s called counter steer and he actually DID do it.
@@shortanimations8911 pull handbrake, steer into corner then steer leftwards almost going full lock for the entire run then call it a respectable record time, drift was just nasty as in actual bad

So far I think his got the best lines on youtube in Assetto Corsa right now. Your Drift was purely for speed not for show, & I like the way u exit corners facing straight ahead with stability kinda like Keiichi Tsuchiya. Most people Drift with exaggeration, just a bit too much side ways and 35 degrees with a wiggle when exiting corners which it looses speed. I think u might be Japanese base on ur driving.
Well his drifting isn’t “for speed” it would be faster to just not drift
@@cattcameo But if its not drifting then it's not Initial D though. I'm sure somebody who's got AI precision can do in between grip & drift going faster than just griping. Remember these corners are tight they arent wide race tracks. Actually I think any corner below 90 degrees can be faster with drift.
Gripping is faster in most cases, except for AE86 XD.
Four-link live axle rear suspension has fixed camber that makes you always sliding when cornering.
Vegetable Studio yea you just gotta make sure that the sliding that’s happening isn’t understeer and you’re good

Really good driving. Exits could be better but really smooth driving, little minor errors but won’t really harm u unless u facing a pro but good shit 👍🏽

I'm still training on my akina downhill. Also using the ae86 tuned but I'm using street tires haha.
Did you adjust the differential at all? I'm running 50% accel and 25 decel.

Is there any faster initial D style drifting than this on youtube for asseto corsa? Of course you'll only get even faster by not drifting at all, but I wonder if anyone has hit the very limit of drift speed to compete with poor grip. Like Nakazato vs Takumi in the series.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing like what's the limit on corner angle and drift speed since I feel do to constant speed rpm corner angle and recovery you can beat a grip car hard
takumi almost doesn't counter steer when he drifts so that must be it...
Grip is not and can't be faster than real drift, especially on a course like Akina with many sharp corners.
@@Haraa It depends on the car and the track. If you Drift with a _Formula 1_ car in Monza, you're probably not gonna be faster at all, but if you do it with an 86 up/down the mountain of Haruna then you're probably gonna conquer the place...
@@MiguelMedV that is true, but on a touge with many sharp corners, REAL, again, REAL DRIFT with almost 0 counter and all 4wheels grippin' the road it will almost be faster than grip.
Edit: Just like Kajot's style of driving which, to me is perfect drift, and also as Bunta's and Joshima's in Initial D, aswell as Tsuchiya's.

I have a cheap ass wheel and im hoping to get a better one soon, what one could i get for around £150 which would allow me to turn the wheel at 180 degrees, i can kinda drift with this cheap wheel i have but i'd be 10x better with a wheel with 1080 degree rotation
1080° can make you control the drift more precisely, but your hands may become super busy before getting used to it XD.

Are you using modded tyres? From the new sound effects and the way the car acts in a corner makes me unsure.
Nope, it's stock semi slick tyres. that sound effects are post edited. ^ ^
I can't drift the tuned or stock one, I either dont give enough throttle or give to much and spin out into the guard rail like Iketani 😔
PreddyBoi don’t drift. Try time attacking. Then use that experience to power slide

Hes not really drifting in this hes using the slip angle of the car. For a lot of corners where it seems like hes drifting hes downshifting and pulling the handbrake. Try doing that.

theres no way .-. I try to fling the wheel all around and hold or pump pedals and have never got the tuned version or stock one to slide at all ;-;

Which brake use when you drifting? I tried drifting by this 86 with foot brake but counter steer didn't worked.
It's hard to initiate a drift with foot brake, especially in this car and such a low speed.
So I use shift-lock drift, here's the tutorial video.

Unless youre rallying or drifting, it is a common knowledge that using the handbrake will make you slower than footbrake.

I know ill never get a reply on a one year video but i cant for the life of me drift with the tuned 86.. how do you do it mine always spins even when i take my foot off the throttle completely it spins halway.. i cant control the drift its super easy on the 86 drift though.
The 86 tuned is not ideal for high angle drifts. Even in the video he has relatively small angle when compared to what can be done with drift cars.
You need to be less rough with the entry. If it spins despite you not throttling that means you're either countersteering wrong or more likely oversteering too hard. 90% of a drift is the entry. You could try adjusting the camber and toe aswell to make it easier.
Try trail braking to enter the drift

In this video I didn't change anything to the car.
But in order to handle the drift better, I suggest to soften the rear suspension, anti-roll bar and lock the differential more.
this is the regular 86 right?
This is the "Tuned" version of AE86, you can find it in Japanese Car Pack.
Tuned version doesn't have a different look from stock version.
But you can tell the difference by checking the specs or just going for a ride.
Softening the suspension and arb really did the trick for me, cheers!
