i adore TOMOS raft collabs to pieces, their dynamic is so funny they always have me in stitches from laughter. subaru the eternal tsukkomi, towa the menhera, okayu the master manipulator/gaslighter/troll, and mio who's just there for the ride. towa and subaru's constant fighting also gets 100% funnier once you know that they're very close friends behind the scenes LOL. thanks for translating these streams, i'm always glad to see more of them

That's how Towa is basically always in collabs with people she gets along with, even before playing with CR KR member. Just look at her only collab with Korone for example.
They go by "常MOS" read as "tsunemos". 常 for Towa's 常闇 (tokoyami, eternal darkness) read as "tsune" meaning "the usual" and MOS from the others's initials :)
I like this episode of the Raft Collab so much that I keep rewatching it whenever it appeared on my timeline. I can barely understand Japanese, but Mio's sentence on 1:23 seemed interesting to me because it sounds like Mio knew of a different umibouzu. There are a lot of different stories about umibouzu, and while some of them are malicious, some of them are pretty neutral.
This was the stream that pulled me into their Raft adventure, turns out I was missing out 😅 And yeah, at the very least Mio wasn't familiar with what Subaru was referring to in particular.

I think I might just grab every video I can find of Mio laughing, cut out the parts where the audio is clear of any other sound, put them all together as some hours-long compilation, and then have it going during any video I watch on TH-cam. Doesn't matter if it is light-hearted Hololive nonsense or world-changing news, it'd make everything better.
"monsters" Isn't umibozu a specific type of giant yokai that appears at sea. You can look up some wood print pictures of a famous one. Its like a big black shadowy giant popping out of the ocean. Very creepy.
Both Subaru and Towa actually have the same roles in different groups. When her kouhais are involved, Towa usually becomes the tsukkomi and the bullied one. Here, it's the duck taking that role.
