Hey! Thanks for documenting your experiences here! Your videos helped me with getting my ultimate bee and xPro up and running and now that my xPro is cooked (not happy about it since I just got it dialed in) I ordered the SLB yesterday so this is definitely helpful! Already learned that i need to order new connectors! 😂
Hi how can I email you I have the same CNC and I have the long board I have everything working but I cannot get the spindle to work I would like to see if you can help me it would be appreciated thanks in advance Bret
Awesome video, thank you for sharing, I also have issues with m Y2 making weird noises at higher speed and acceleration, doesn’t happen with x or z, I wonder if upgrading from xpro can fix that, is this controller 24v or higher
Thank you very much! It cleared up my noise issue for sure, funny enough it was only when homing the Y axis not while cutting and my cuts were always good so I didn’t pay it much attention. The Super Long Board is 24v only and was something that I considered when buying. As I am Canadian I felt compelled to try a Canadian product. :) I also looked at the Nighthawk and you can use at least 36v with that one. So far the biggest advantage with the SLB I see is the board and firmware is well documented and supported.
I'm in the same boat as well. I am on my third xPro (all warrantee replacements) and the Y screams for me as well, plus it is flaky sometimes. They seem to be mostly out of business now and Bulkman is advising not to update them to FluicNC anymore. I just pulled the trigger on the SLB to replace it before it goes again. I appreciate the video and have a question. Did you change the Z to 16 micro stepping for any particular reason?
@@philshel1 hey I hope you enjoy your SLB when it arrives. I set the Z to 16 micro stepping as I was getting some binding when I had it set to 32. I think that my acceleration was to high when I tried 32 micro stepping and when I get some more time in the garage I will try to play with the max speed and acceleration to get it setup with 32 micro stepping in the near future.
If you buy a SLB send them an email and tell them you want the connectors and they will send them with it like they did with mine they are good about it

Glad it was helpful! You are going to love the SLB. Sorry your XPro died that sucks.
Hi. Nice upgrade. The SLB is the EXT model ?
