- An actual dream come true. An interview with my favorite person in all of showbiz, the legendary CAROL BURNETT. After Carol saw my Story Location Tour on her she invited me to her 90th birthday party. That led to an unforgettable, intimate, sit-down interview where we covered so many moments from her unrivaled career.
This sounds less like an interview and more like a conversation between two old friends. Well done Justin.
Couldn't give me any higher praise than this. Truly.

I've listened to just about every interview Carol Burnett has ever given and I have never heard her so free and just - loose is the only word for it -It was very interesting. I will be listening to this again. Great job, Justin.

OMG! You got to interview her! I've been waiting for this every since I binged your Carol Tour. It was absolutely fascinating. I watched her show reruns every day when I got home from school in the 1980's. My favorite character is Mrs. Wiggins.

I owe so much of the development of my wacky sense of humor to watching The Carol Burnett Show as a kid. I may not have fully understood every joke, but I loved when they cracked each other up.
My grade school Mother’s Club had an auction. Somehow they got Carol Burnett to donate one of her cleaning woman hats. My mom bought it for me! I wish I still had it!

Justin - FANTASTIC interview. Instead of the usual "then I acted, then I sang, then I danced" - you asked questions no other interviewer had ever asked before. You really dug deep into subjects & topics Carol has never talked about. This is one of the best interviews I have ever seen - Well done!

I've pretty much stopped watching Carol Burnett interviews because it's always the same stuff, the same stories she's written about, things I already know. I wasn’t born back when the Garry Moore show was on but I discovered him a couple of years ago due to TH-cam and am a fan now so I am happy he was brought up! My favorite comedian well every one on her show are my favorites.
Justin, I loved every single minute of this conversation. The ending, when she thanked you...I had tears running down my smiling face. So touching, you covered so much of her career and moments in her variety show that i had forgotten, and I felt so connected to Carol because you were gracious, involved, respectful, and appreciative of every response and insight she shared. Carol clearly was very comfortable with you, and you deserve so much reverent appreciation for your research and incredible memory of her life work. I am going to watch this again and again. This was such a comfort, I can't express how much.

@@TheJustinRootShow One of the times I did meet her was not long after her daughter, Carrie, had died. She said in interviews and in her book that Carrie's favorite flower was the bird of paradise (mine too) and she had a tattoo and a nice story behind it. I believe she wore a bird of paradise pendant in one of these interviews. It is very touching...

I have a question and I'm not sure you can answer it, but did Carol, after she herself became famous, ever get to meet Linda Darnell (another fellow Texan, from Dallas, where I was born) before her tragic death, and did she get to tell her the story she told in the interview with you?
