Ignoring the stupid dog stuff, his kit seems pretty solid for hydra if you don't have the meta ones.
sadly he needs a caragor to have protected taunt and unless you're going to run idk like warmaster crit fellhound with the blessing that makes his a1 decrease speed the proper version you're probably doing without
