    As a GTO629 buyer, it’s honestly been great! Very clear sound and it’s crisp! No distortion even at high volume! I use it with my stock amp on my civic and it’s truly been worth my money. One thing though, the bass is a bit on the lower side but that is to be expected but the mids and higher fqz are great and worth it! Trust me you won’t be losing your money on these! I’ll be installing a subwoofer so this should be a great pair up

    FYI, speakers need to run a minimum of 40-60 hours of standard listening to be broken in. This can be sped up a bit playing sweeps at higher power. I would expect your results for each speaker would be much better after a break in. Good luck.

    I bought both of these speakers and installed them in a bluetooth boombox build, same size and same powered amp. After running them for over a year, I would buy Fosgate over JBL. I can get JBL for about $90 and the Rockford for about $110. Fosgate sounds better to me when they're cranked up.

    • @Luminous.Dynamics
      @Luminous.Dynamics ปีที่แล้ว

      Were the JBLs louder or does the 2.5/3 ohm load really not make that much of a difference? Also, don't the JBL's hit lower bass notes? Or not really?

    • @thegoatcatcher
      @thegoatcatcher ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The JBLs were soft sounding while the Fosgate Punch has a cleaner crisp midbass punch. The lower ohm rating has more to do if you use an existing wiring harness. In my case, I use thicker wire and a shorter length, so there's no issue with getting enough power to make the speakers move.

    Rockford Fosgate sounds much better than JBL. The difference is that the test takes place in the wrong format because listening to display quality should take place inside the car (If you're looking for the best option for car audio). The best thing about dynamics is its purity and clarity, which Rockford Fosgate boasts, if we talk about JBL, then you can not achieve accurate, even not artificial clarity through an EQ. Bass is a lot easier as it only needs the closed interior space of the car to expand the audibility of the bass and you can also add it through the EQ.

    You have under power amplifier for those watt monster,
    compare to Rockford , JBL has more sensitivity response and higher frequency range tweeter ( near hi res ) ( SQL kinda speaker ), thats why with low power JBL already start action and with higher frequency range it sounds more clear.
    meanwhile Rockford has lower frequency range midbass ( near sub ) ( SPL kinda speaker )with less sensitiv response.
    you should find higher power amp and music wih deep bass and vocal music to compare both speakers
    maybe i would take 2 way component speaker of JBL GTO as front speaker, and Midbass Rockford P165 as rear speaker, with 100s up watt amp Rockford midbass can fill the bass gab frequency between any midbass and sub or for some people could substite the sub itself.

      @@jerrylaguna990 It is perfect. A co-worker suggested I look at Rockford Fosgate. I ended up looking on Amazon.com and found this 8” powered subwoofer. A co-worker got it installed in my car. It is loud and the bass is clear in my Toyota Corolla LE 2015. I also have Sony 6.5” in the front and 6x9” 4-way speakers in the rear panel from Walmart. It made the car way better. Hope you can find it.

    Thanks for the informative comparisons.I love good bass tones and would like your opinion about the better 6 1/2 speaker between the JBL gto629 and the JL C1 -650 coaxial.I am purchasing on line and and need your expert advice.If there is a better one out there around the same price range, fine.

      I own a set of the JL C1 650x and the component set as well, and I also have the c2 650x Coaxials. Tbh I wouldn't buy any less than the c2 from JL. The c1 650x is not worth the money. I am very happy with my c2's however. I'd get the JBL in this case. The silk tweeter is nicer than the tinny aluminum ones on the JL. The c2 650x however destroys the JBL, although it is a lot more money. I got 2 pairs of the c2 650x for $180 a pair though so I'm happy with it.

    Jbl’s to my ear and what I get through the video sound like the tweeter and woofer don’t have a proper crossover set leaving a possible gap before the tweeter picks up. But that could be TH-cam and auto gain on the mic of the device your recording with. Still every time I rewatch to double check the JBL’s sound less clear on very upper side of the mids where it would just be starting to push sound through the tweeter it isn’t.
    That being said, the fosgates defiantly had all that detail, it just struggles to reproduce booming bass.

    Definitely liked the Fosgates better. JBL seemed too muted. I like a lit of 2Pac's music and he loved the highs just as much as bass. The clarity on the Fosgates would really sound good with his music!!

  • @noahkb80

    JBL hands down. Besides it sounding better , its alot more flexible for usage. Its lower impedance taps factory stereo better. I've got 4 of these in my 08 Silverado doors, running off a pioneer avh-2330nex deck mosfet 50wx4 peak amp it has built into the head unit, running through paper thin factory wires, and some songs sound like I've got decent 10 inch sub hidden somewhere. Overall volume is ridiculous, I cant turn my deck up louder than 26 ,which max volume is 40. I did however spend a small amount of time with the preparation using some Metra door adapters and made sure they where sealed tightly with no air leaks whatsoever. I didnt soundproof the doors, but I did use Roadkill foam rings and did a little modifying because my truck is notorious for getting water and moisture into back of speaker. I used the largest ring on front surround to fit flush against the grill of the door panel to help focus the sound and prevent loss. I used the 2nd ring and cut it out in 2 peices of 2/3rds and 1/3rds and ran the larger one above the back of speaker and the smaller one under to act as shields from water splashing. Then used the fat center on wall right behind speak to kill the bounce. It really freaks people out when show them what I have. Gonna run some new wire soon as im picking up interference some where. Once I know I have full clean uninhibited power running to them.....😍😍 most probably couldn't tell a difference. But I can 😁
    Those are badass speakers. I've ran them for 2 years now through the 100 degree texas summers and nothing ever gets hot

    I know this vid is old, but the RF seems higher pitch, but I can tell it would easily distort at high power; RF plays highs crisper, but with cheaper materials. The JBL sounds more natural and balanced, not piercing; The JBL seems to produce more accurate sound and more sound of the lower db parts of the songs. I think RF is good for rock or other things like high-pitched. JBL maybe for hip hop, EDM or something.
    But does that JBL really produce a lot of bass? I'm trying to find the best 6.5" for bass

      Looks like you've never experienced Rockford's in person, Rockford's are the bass kings, and very affordable for what they are. Jbl is honestly way over priced. An audiophile will tell you the same thing. The Rockford he is using requires more air space then what he is giving it. The punch component series of that same speaker blows nearly everything out of the water. Theirs a few companies they don't touch but those are very pricey. I really don't believe this review because I've had both these series. The jbl is honestly trash after a few months. The fosgates take a beating. The speaker he sounds compare the jbl to in the same price love is the punch 3... It would rip that jbl a new asshole.
