Playing on the Syntakt feels like I'm playing a video game, seeing the little alien land on the cymbal, and the slime blob squish or expand for the clap, it just makes everything so damn fun to tweak.

Thank you Jeremy. I’m learning a lot about playing the Syntakt thanks to your last vids. The balance between “how to” and actual composing brings them over the top. Keep on!

The Syntakt has reprogrammed me in the same way conquering renoise did. I took it easy for the first month ignoring fx, conditional trigs, probability and my new fav- the fill button...this box is a universe in itself that can lead to some serious social isolation. Fill button fill button fil button you people dont sleep on that!

I super dig this style of video, and I hope you had fun making it (and had a great show too!)
It's awesome to hear your process when building up the parts one at a time, then get to hear the final product in your jam at the end. I'd love to see more like this, especially if it is something you like doing :D

I've had my Syntakt for a while now and still learned a ton from this like a total noob. Thanks so much.

These videos really make me wanna standardize my workflow, just spend a whole day configuring my toys for an exact genre so that I get something as concise as this Syntakt flow but with the toys I already have.

Watching you work has helped me figure out some aspects of my performance I've wanted to work on - I had a eureka moment while watching this that I think makes a huge difference. At times, I've struggled with why I'd screw with the decay parameter vs. an envelope for some sounds. It wasn't until watching this that I realized that you effectively have two different "channels" for envelope control via control-all. Which changes quite a bit for me.
Great track and performance, as always.

Nice jam. It’s one of those devices you really need to hear in person as the sound quality out of it really is fantastic. Hadn’t touched mine in two months or so and was kind of blown away a second time at how good it can sound when I plugged it back in over the weekend.

Me: "I just got a digitakt a few months ago, I don't need the syntakt"

    Love the syntakt.
Just hoping they add a couple new synthesis engines/oscillators to fill in some of the gaps, the chord engine is super limited especially and I find it a struggle to make chords that don’t sound like syntakt or model:cycle chords. I tend to use the syntakt to control my microfreak for chords now, but it kind of makes it less all in one when you start needing external gear to get decent chord sounds. Could definitely use a few more mono engines/oscillators as well, the fm and 8-bit engines are very nice but I’d love something like the strings on op-1 or microfreak and some granular/custom wavetables. I doubt they’ll add sample support despite it definitely being capable of it because they don’t want to cannibalise the digitakt sales but it would be nice to just have simple sample loading support as well.
I actually really like the digital high hat
engine especially for idm, and there’s analog hats for when you want more standard sounding hats. It’s such a great foundation and I’m just hoping that elektron doesn’t abandon this device as they have for some others.

Would love some new engines. Not that I'm bored of the Syntakt by any means but I'd sure it's capable of so many more sounds

      @owRekssjfjxjxuurrpqpqss 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@DanChippendaleMusic exactly. It has crazy potential, the digital engines are just a bit limited atm which has me reaching for other gear to offset those deficiencies more often than I’d like.

@@owRekssjfjxjxuurrpqpqss On the plus, it means your other gear gets love too! I'd like more machines as well! Though I don't think I need a one device does everything (looking at stuff in this room, clearly not :P). I don't have any magical tricks for the chord machine to make it more unique, but I'm reminded of watching Ricky Tinez play with it and saying something similar then stumbling on something "oh! this is tight!"

This is pretty niche in terms of peeps needs. I feel like it’s a proper maturation of the M:C. I realize it is not exclusively fm, but it def has the vibe. Maybe I finally find a happy partner for my M:C.

Everyone always asks for the ability to play the chords in the recent elektron chord engine (cycles, syntakt) but I think it is kind of an FM hack to generate chords from a single note on a 4 operator fm voice. I watched a video where someone from elektron was explaining it and was pumped they figured out a hacky way to make chords from a fm voice. It was not like they are hard coding individual notes in a polyphonic chord engine, it is a single 4 operator fm voice with hard-coded parameters to make it sound like a chord from a single note. I could be wrong on some of that it was a while ago and I couldn't find the video I watched. But it explains why the chord engine is limited.

Ok, it seems that iam the only one, who don’t love the sound of the Syntakt. It (synth)sounds toyish, thin and metallic. Btw. I owned this device for 3 weeks. I wanted to like it, but there was no love. I find out, that I can make similar sound with my Elektron Model Cycles (wich cost 500 bucks less). For me it’s an drum machine with some extra features and it’s not for every one. 🤷🏼‍♂️
