    Just bought a 2 cd Wishbone Ash compilation today from my local music store called Time Was on MCA, paid $4.99, not a bad price in my book, Wishbone Ash cds are not easily found on the used racks.
    I only owned one cd by them, Argus with some bonus tracks.

    • @TheAlanRosenbergShow
      @TheAlanRosenbergShow  9 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      It's true, its not easy to find Wishbone Ash albums used in the racks - probably because they don't sell huge numbers and those who buy them keep them. I hope the one you got is Time Was The Wishbone Ash Collection which is a good 2 cd anthology of many of their songs. That's a good one with a booklet too. There is another Time Was 2 Cd live collection which is actually a cheap repress of two "grey" market live cd's that don't have great sound - "Time Line" and "The King Will Come Live". Definitely not an essential collection, but for the BIG fan ok to have. Anyway for the price - you did really great!

    Boo! Hiss! Boo! No more Time Capsules 'til 2026! Boo! Enjoyed this, even though up to Isbell I was getting ready to type "Haven't heard any of these albums!" Two things: Have just ordered the Waterboys CD as I don't have that one, so I trust it is as good as you say (heh heh), and I am afraid to say that I believe that your dismissal of DBT post-Isbell is, let's say, misguided. I have every single one of their albums and they are consistently excellent, musically AND lyrically - there are no poor albums among them. Not really even average ones. They are consistently worth hearing. Really, really, really. I probably actually prefer them post-Jason, but of course there are more DBT albums post-Jason than with him, now. They are one of my favourite bands of the 21st Century, no doubt at all (seen 'em live lots in London). Oh, and my thoughts on your Fairport set can be found on our previous thread in Time Capsule 1974.

      Thanks - hope I disappoint you with that Waterboys album - but yea I really like that one. Alright I'll have to give another shot. I think I was never thrilled with Patterson Hood's voice - thought it was good, but the Isbell song's on those DBT albums were always my favorites. But on occasion I see those post Isbell DBT albums in the wild and I'll give them another show. By the way, Decoration Day is an all time classic album for me. I'll look for that other comment now. And yes no more Time Capsules till 2026. As you know I do them in yearly (ten year increments).

The Keith solo album was a huge disappointment, what did you think of the Main Offender album? I've never liked anything Steven Wilson puts out solo, just bores me. • @TheAlanRosenbergShow
      @TheAlanRosenbergShow  9 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@seekah1 I thought Main Offender had some Great songs, but was a disappointment compared to Talk Is Cheap. Many of the songs were more "riffs" in search of a really good / tight song. I think Jagger could've done wonders on some of those tracks regarding editing and tightening them up. I don't have the big Cutting Edge boxset. I just don't need the umpteen versions of the same songs over and over, as interesting they are - it's a one listen for me. As for Tull, I did the Tull album rankings and the 80's albums fall where they fall in the video. If you separate them out - they'll have their own ranking. Thanks.

    Hey, 45 albums is nothing to sneeze at. I've got 10. OK, so what's really great from 2015? Well, there's Vulnicura by Bjork. This album is completely insane and not for the faint of heart, but I think it's way cool. Wolflight is another great album by Steve Hackett. Especially check out "Love Song to a Vampire." Sco-Mule (Gov't Mule with John Scofield) was recorded live in 1999 but released in 2015. All instrumental jams and they are completely awesome. I won't include Still by Richard Thompson because it's not one of his best, but the bonus disc, called Variations EP, is way better and contains five amazing songs.
    But I know two true masterpieces from 2015. #2 is Hand. Cannot. Erase. And #1 is The Grand Experiment, the debut album by the official Neal Morse Band, a perfect album, a masterclass in rock and prog. I know it's way past the heyday of rock and roll, but to me it's one of the greatest rock albums ever made.

    Bill Wyman once said if he could play in another band it would be for CCR with Fogerty. He still did alright but he probably had to put up with a lot of Prima Donna behavior from Jagger.
    I don’t understand why you like Wishbone Ash. I gave them a listen and they did nothing for me. A band with no hits doesn’t interest me. But whatever.
    I like the Steve Miller Band, the Electric Prunes, live in Stockholm 1967!, Missing Persons, and the Pretenders!
    The Police are probably my favorite band besides the Doors, Cars and CCR and ARS.
    Boston, Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, Nirvana and S. Pumpkins also.
