I L O V E YOU LEX !!! I am a 70 yr old widow and after 30 years of marriage, I can no longer have this sort of thoughtful hours long intelligent conversation with my beautiful man. I would rather listen to your conversations and talk out loud to you, than go to sleep. Yet at the risk of being offensive, you will have to settle for taking second best to my late husband. You are a force for good. I am grateful.

Yes, good sir Lex, sincerely, how surreal is this interview? To be watching it in 2022 and see that it was recorded BEFORE November 2020, with all the weight that that particular moment in history carries, and somehow the rhetoric of the "context of the times" in present-day [redacted] America echoes... things we're not currently allowed to even discuss on these so-called platforms of discussion. Things like "Germany Awake." The deluge of the masses, was it? The eye of the beholder thing? Huh. Thank you for your work.

"The weapons of love are much more powerful" -Lex Friedman
I woke up this morning and found myself in one of those terrible internet holes where I made the mistake of watching a violent video too long. And then i got another, and another. I read the comments on these videos, and found so much hatred. People fighting amongst themselves over the fighting in the videos. It made me really sad. A terrible way to wake up, that too many of us fall prey to every single day.
Then I threw on Lex and tried to get back to sleep. But I couldn't because I was so moved by his relentless positivity about there being more good than evil in the world. I then went to the comments to find the most kind people in the world, all together, boosting each other up, helping, discussing, and even disagreeing - but not disrespecting. It turned my mood from feeling helpless to feeling so hopeful.
I have been watching you Lex since day one. It was an accident I found you. I thought your voice was the same as this crazy conspiracy theorist guy and was trying to connect the dots to see if you were him. You weren't. This was back when you would post videos of you playing guitar and things before the podcasts. I kept watching by accident too. I just wanted your soothing voice to put me to sleep.
And here we are many years later, and you have executed your vision. Still wearing your suit. Still talking softly in a monotone voice, but there's something new now. You've united all the good people in the world. The thinkers and the lovers. The egoless.
    And it dawned on me....
This mf just started the revolution that will break the spell of hatred throughout the entire world. He did it with a soft voice, a clean suit, and love.
    What a thing to witness.
Have a great day everyone. Make a difference. 🤘

Also there is no such thing as an egoless person unless you are literally a bodhisattva raised in a monastery, and being egoless doesn’t make you a good person. I used to believe that too. It’s a trap. There is a very little difference between having an over inflated ego and thinking you don’t have one mate.

Dan Carlin's Narration is second to none. While listening to his description the battle of Midway in his last Supernova in the East Podcast the vividness it elicited in me was like watching a blockbuster movie

As a history buff, I just love conversations like this. I wish I could just sit for hours and talk history. I have always been intrigued by Ghangis Kahn. I love strategic military history.

I've always been a history nut, and while there are other amazing podcasts, like yours, Dan's Hardcore History is my favourite podcast uber alles.

Love the time stamps broken into chapters so I can click back and find parts in an organized way. First TH-cam video I’ve seen with that, and I love it. Also this content rocks. New fan of Dan Carlin and now an even newer fan of Lex Friedman. Just found my new listening material.

I love how some of Lex's questions run so long I forget he's even asking a question. I also love witnessing how people approach these extremely complex questions. Thanks Mr Fridman

This might be the greatest podcast guest I’ve ever seen. Insane. 🔥🔥🔥

Another fascinating conversation. Thank you for this entire series. I'm very lucky that your range of interviewees generally coincides with people I'm interested in listening too. I find it quite fascinating that your delivery is fairly deadpan, but you manage to elicit interesting conversations from a wide range of interviewees, over a vast range of subjects.
It would be interesting to see your reaction when they are speaking as well as when you're speaking (and vice versa).
I guess the main guest I'd have on a wishlist is Noam Chomsky - I suspect the conversation could cover a wide range of subjects, from his work on linguistics and the implications on human consciousness, to his relentless activism and anarchistic viewpoint, and the relationships between those two.
Even if you can't manage that one, keep at it. I strongly believe that proper, in depth. discussions like this can really help people broaden their horizons.

So weird to see a person talking in Dan Carlin voice … he’s been just a voice in my car and travels for so long

Doubt that you’ll read this, but I’ve come to appreciate your work as truly beneficial contributions to mankind’s ability to Hear beyond biases, and gain insight and the opportunity to Learn How to Think from these podcasts, and gain the Necessary Empathy for personal and world change that all bias blocks. I don’t know why I didn’t realize how vital Empathy is to the very possibility of bias changes.
