Great vid Jeff. I have one of these feeders. For anyone who has one, the inside tray can split at the bottom in a few places. Apparently it’s due to a manufacturing fault so may happen to yours. I contacted JBL who where very helpful and said it should be replaced (warranty is 2 + 2 years). Now got the replacement and very please. They are very good feeders.
Saki hikari is in my opinion the best koi food, my fish get it when I can afford it but I feed hikari staple in the summer and hikari wheatgerm in the winter. Another good video, keep them coming.
Look a brilliant bit of kit that feeder. Keep us updated with how you get on with it. Mines been good but is a bit basic. Can't get over how much saki hikari is, wow 😮
Hi D man, will keep you guys posted with the feeder, it working 10/10 atm, saki ain’t cheap specially if the dogs get to it 🤣🤣🤣see you at the show mate 👍🏻
@@just4koi143 it looks quality. Problem with mine is the frequent feed mode doesn't feed enough each portion and the ochiba sits under it and it and pretty much eats the lot on every feed. The normal mode only dose 3 feeds, if it would do 5 or 6 I'd be happy with it. Can't justify saki hikari now I've got a trade account with coppens, interested to see how you get on with it though. Coppens costs me less per sack than my dogs food so not so worried if they get into mine 😂 they do get the odd handful sometimes
Ha ha, liked the comment about the tds meter lol 😁, I like the Jpd Shogun food so much, no fish waste at all going through the drum, thought I'd try the Jpd shori growth food, hopefully that will be just as clean. See you and Lau Saturday., safe trip mate.
No TDS readings on this channel 🤣 I used jpd shori and colour last season fish loved it, no need for the video on your system will see all Saturday🤣👍🏻thanks Marek
Thanks for the suggestion on the food for the koi my fish really love it and on side note I built your double barrel upflow filter using 4 inch pvc pipe and various fittings does a great job in filtering a lot of muck out of the pond. Great idea from across the pond
Nice looking bit of kit Jeff , I would of waited till Sunday afternoon might of been able to pick up a bargain mate , be interesting to see how it runs , looking forward to the national 👍👍😀😀
Thanks Martin, lau mentioned the same thing tbh but inpatient got the better of me, I would of loved to get the one they use in Japan but it’s between £850 to £1000 here, that’s like a pair of Jimmy’s 🤣🤣🤣see you at the show looking forward to seeing everyone and others again 👍🏻
Hi Jeff, another great vid, very informative again, nice feeder, I have put one on my pond so they get some grub while I'm at work, they get to know what times it kicks out, lol very funny, I still like you hand feed a bit as well, your pond is looking nice and clear now, great vid again.
Great video Jeff. The auto looks really cool. It will definitely be a good investment for your water beasts when you are away during the day. Of course, saki Hikari food is great 😉
@@just4koi143 hello mate thanks for your reply I had to reduce the 2”to 1.5”to connect to the ea 10,000 varipump mate that’s why I needed your opinion mate it’s only gonna be 1 elbow from the pump then 1.5” pipe to the 2”elbow connecting to retro bottom drain 👍

Good morning juff my name is Ricardo from Southampton, and I do enjoy your just4koi channel, I was wondering where you got all of your rubber fittings for your double barrel upflow filter from mate cause I will like to make one. Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated.
Jeff how do you recycle the water that comes our when using vac3/4 to clean the pond, is it difficult to make as I disabled bump hate wasting all that water.I would be great full for any advice. Thanks
Looks like a very impressive feeder however based on the £300 cost point it is likely out of the range of most koi hobbyists' budgets. Will be interesting to see how well it is working after a month or so exposed to the elements. For those hobbyists looking for a less expensive feeder I would suggest checking out Dazzle Koi and his review of the Fishmate P7000 auto feeder. Certainly not the same quality as yours but much affordable for those on a tight budget. Cheers.
Hi KR, the feeder is expensive for most hobbyist totally agree with you, but I did mention in my video there are much cheaper feeders, dazzle koi done a review on fishmate p7000 which was £90 this is his third feeder as he wasn’t happy with none of them he done a review on which was from pond solution feeder £60, he also had a velda feeder which was £250 he mentions this in his video so in total he has spent over the £400 mark will he buy anymore possibly who knows, my pond is triple the size of dazzle koi also the koi I keep which are also out of range from most hobbyist, my channel isn’t based on keeping things on a budget, I am just sharing my ideas, going cheap can also cost you more in the long run 👍🏻take care
I'm going to live in your pond and get fed like a king lol. Thanks for the informative video and unboxing.......PLEASE tell me you peeled that plastic off the screen :| hehe. Cheers.
Expensive bit of kit, but sometimes buying cheap costs more in the long run. You need to train your dog to work the camera and that'll compensate the expensive koi food he's eating 😬

so much ash in that saki hikari more than any other food out there plus protein is not that high nt labs got less ash and more protein I know people say hikari is best but probably cause its what japanese breeders feed it which they do cause its cheap as it is produced over there so like nt labs is cheap in uk and cheaper in uk I wanted to try it but I will stick with medikoi probiotic too much ash for me
