Very helpful! Instead of typing in the syntax, I used the drop down dialogue boxes to enter the data. That is how I normally work with Excel; I find it much easer than typing in the syntax.

Hello! Thanks for posting this video. I wonder though, let's say I have counts of surveys and the Customer Satisfaction score (in %) for each period, can I still use the Straight Line method but do it separately for each of them to compute the future # of surveys and their corresponding Customer Satisfaction score goals?
I'm also thinking if I used the Straight Line method to compute the Customer Satisfaction goals and then go back and use the values to compute the # of surveys necessary to get to those goals using Multiple regression, is that even possible? Thank you in advance! :)

So my understanding is if you have no trend then seasonality will show 0? Also when you use the .ETS function and put in a number in the seasonality section (for eg 12) what does that mean? I am using this example but for my data excel is automatically taking the seasonality as 0.

Mr. Flisser, thank you, very useful. I'm looking at doing similar forecast analysis, just in my case I have over about 2500 different types of items, each one in its own column and I need to look into each of them separately, so what is the best way how to automate that the same seasonal criteria and steps get assigned to each of the items / columns? And a second question, I'm also work with a yearly stats, so seasonal nr 12, but I have a wider time range of 3,5 years, do I need to limit the time period to 3 years and ignore the data of the following half year to get the seasonality factor of 12?

i tried this on both linear forecast and regular forecast functions on my monthly future revenue prediction sheet. However, the numbers came up very different in each function. Even when i was checking the previous years, the numbers were still very different so i don't know what i did wrong

may I kindly ask in reality there are many products (Part numbers) to forecast. And each Part number required 3years past data each respectively.
if I have 100 products to sell and I need to do a forecast of each product... then how can I do it in a easy way using excel?

Hello, do you always have to put the dates down the rows? I am always working with forecast data by quarter/year and the timeline always goes across columns. I am seeing a number of tutorials that have it like you do. In theory excel should be able to process the data the same way correct?
