I don't think the animatic's gay at all, millenials and zoomers are just so alienated and immature any physical contact sets them off*. It's a spectacular animatic that kicks the stage show's ass. Heathers, with its *wildly* exaggerated portrayal of high school, was made for animation. *Read if you want: In film school, I wrote a pilot for a 70's urban fantasy featuring Peter Pan as the villain. In the script, George Darling and Smee were best friends and Korean vets at a memorial cemetery, holding hands *over Smee's dead fiance, Su Young-Soon's tombstone* . After the table read, people asked me why George and Smee were holding hands and if they were gay; because that's the only reason, they "reasoned", why two grown men would physically touch each other. I gottuh admit, I stomped pretty hard on that question. "Because holding hands was a perfectly normal thing to do, among boys and men, until the late 20th century, and that's well documented." I wrote these two classically masculine men holding hands because that's what men did until an eye blink ago, and it's what men should do, and classically *did* , to comfort each other.

I just love all the character poured into every frame of the character. 2:00 Like Heather Duke having sharp canine teeth when threatening someone with social ostracization, relishing in the idea of having that power, while Heather McNamera is sweating at the thought, afraid for herself. Meanwhile, Heather Chandler is just casually singing it, because to her, it's all just a tool to be used. It's perfect.
I like how at the end, only Heather C is happy. Heather Duke and Heather McManera look pissed. I like the idea that only Chandler wanted Veronica to join their lil trio, and the other two realize their fragile position in the group could be upended by Veronica. Chandler feels much more stable, and doesn’t really have a reason for helping Veronica besides (weirdly enough) because it’d be nice. She thinks she’s being helpful, but of course she goes about it in a mean way.
Story: One time this girl in my class (named Heather) was really annoying the teacher so the teacher just told her to "Just shut up Heather" and (You probably know where this is going) Heather said "Sorry Heather" and I want to be her friend.
*(THE NEXT DAY)* Reporter: "This just in: everyone in Westerberg High - with the exception of two students - is now dead. I repeat, all but two students are now dead." Veronica: "WHAT? DEAD?" Reporter: "Police say that they still have several hundred bodies left to examine, but so far all the victims they have finished examining have died of heart attacks. Could it be true for the rest of the victims? We'll find out later."
I think what I really like about this is how unsure Heather M looks. Like when it said "Or you can die alone" she was sweating, and didn't seem comfortable. Then when it said "you can fly with eagles" she was more in the background. Arms crossed. No smile. Actually looking kinda worried.

I love the small details, like how at 2:01 Mcnamara is sweating while singing "or you can die alone" cuz in Shine a light (reprise) her version of Duke (representing her fears?) tells her "you're gonna die alone!" Also the expressions on especially Duke and Mcnamara are gold!
omg at 0:15 you can clearly see the yellow and red, but when you pause and look at Heather D. her green is dull, because she has "no discernable personality"
The "Shut up Heather" part is truly genius about this animatic (next to Kurt and Ram refered as "The Rapists" cause they are) is that when Heather C. pushes Heather D. down the stairs and Heather M. getting really concerned for her, that shows she's not ignorant to what Heather C. is doing (much like Ty Lee knows what Azula is doing in Avatar: Last Airbender) and uses her "innocent" act to help her not get in Heather C.'s wrath. And in this animatic Heather C. reminds me of Azula, she's calm and cool but could destroy your life with a snap of her fingers. This animatic was awesome thank you for making this

The "Shut up Heather" part is truly genius about this animatic (next to Kurt and Ram refered as "The Rapists" cause they are) is that when Heather C. pushes Heather D. down the stairs and Heather M. getting really concerned for her, that shows she's not ignorant to what Heather C. is doing (much like Ty Lee knows what Azula is doing in Avatar: Last Airbender) and uses her "innocent" act to help her not get in Heather C.'s wrath. And in this animatic Heather C. reminds me of Azula, she's calm and cool but could destroy your life with a snap of her fingers. This animatic was awesome thank you for making this
