Played this game when I was younger and still to this day I measure ladder climbing speed in videogames compared to how crazy fast batman climbed them in this game.

Rise of Sin Tzu... now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time...
It seems that like everyone at first you didn't figure out the Progessively unlocked Special combat moves you can perform with that stamina bar under the health bar by holding down a combination of buttons then releasing them after 1-2 seconds, you can find the combos in the pause menu its just hold then release, it's really one of the best features of the game.
Watching your gameplay I realised that you don't use special moves These things are really useful in combat You press a combination of buttons at the same time to do one of these moves You unlock them as you progress in the story and that yellow bar under the player's health bar is the bar for special move Depending on the damage that the special move inflicts on an enemy the bar will drop You can fill it again by punching and kicking enemies and it fills up fast I remember when I discovered this as a kid I was shocked because i played batman vengeance alot when I was young and the game didn't tell the player what is this whole special moves thing
Just made the same comment as you after watching the video and now saw yours after a refresh, Felt the same shock back then I had finished the game maybe 3 times and when I came back to it a year later and discovered the moves it was soooooo cool and felt really powerful.
Any chance of a Kevin Conroy tribute? Nov 10th marked 2nd anniversary of his death. He was the best voice of Batman and with Mark Hamill, made the Animated Series into a classic. I made a tribute to him using the classic 90's toys with footage from Burton, Nolan, Arkham and Injustice but I don't got ur reach, and he deserves much bigger tribute.
@@user-wk5rn5rx1j he keeps doing it a lot,but never seen him answer these spam comments,he either has a bot doing it or just copy pastes and doesn't care....i think the bot option
I played this game so much as a kid, it's good! A bit clunky for modern standards but still fun. I remember 2 roadblocks I faced as a kid. In the Joker boss fight he tackles you to the ground and starts hitting you. For the life of me I couldn't shake him off, like my keyboard inputs didn't work. So him jumping on me meant I lost the fight. And 2 - after Mr Freeze boss fight he freezes you and you have to mash left and right arrows to free yourself but I didnt figure it out for a long time and thought I lost and had to load the save file. Other than that I got so many fond memories
7:16 so funny thing is that with a lot of older pc ports they never really had framerate caps despite certain glitches to the game occurring if getting over 60 fps. with web of shadows time challenged are completely broken when getting over 60 fps, and lego batman and the assassins creed games have many similar glitches as well. if you lock your refresh rate to 60hz and then turn on vsync to the game through nvidia control panel it could maybe help with these issues? but i could also be totally pulling this out of my ass because ive never played this game before and the issue could be completely different lol
Man, hearing you say that you had never heard of this game makes me feel so old. Lol I begged for this game for my Xbox when I was a kid and I loved it so much.q
My first console was the Gamecube and the three games my parents got for me with it were Batman Vengence, Spongebob BFBB and Spider-Man 2. For 6 year old me this game was difficult. Maybe I should finally complete it.
I just played this game on PC. It translates the Bruce Timm art style to 3d so good, but the controls are awful. It needs a remaster mainly to improve controls so it can be more enjoyable. Also having to switch from 3rd person to 1st person view is so annoying - we should have been able to turn the camera in 3rd person and look around freely.
I only accidentally discovered this game has Power Moves on my third playthrough when I was 12, makes combat significantly easier in late game. That's what the yellow bar that fills up during combat is for
"and it's only a year younger than me" no fuckin way ur 22, what am i doing in life 😭 i could be making these kinda at 22 man. i'm jealous love ur vids
Ubisoft used to have a pretty stellar record in the 2000s. Prince of Persia Sands of Time trilogy, Rainbow Six: Raven Shield, Splinter Cell. Their reputation fell off hard in the recent years, but they had a lot of good stuff.
I remember this game. I was only 15 when it came out and shall we say, less experienced with gaming. I don't remember much about it beyond rescuing Harley Quinn from a fall, and then I got stuck on a train level. It was so new at the time I couldn't even find a walkthrough for it, the only guide I could find ended halfway through the train level I was stuck on. I never did get to finish it, but I remember enjoying it
Most likely all of the physics and speed problems were related to your FPS, not the refresh rate. Games of that era were bound to 30 fps target, and anything above that would just speed up/glitch. Great video btw :)
I still remember this. There's this level I can't climb have no idea to, then suddenly I accidentally press B then batman floating and I managed to get through the crate lmao.
let me tell you about a couple of bad games by Ubisoft that i've played: -"Stronghold kingdoms". it's a multiplayer game where you build castles, and armies to capture castles. BUT, what it DOES NOT tell you is that it's a HARDCORE game, if your castle gets conquered, you lose EVERYTHING YOU EVER BUILT. -"O.R.B. offworld resource base". it's a VERY cheap imitation of the Homeworld games. it's also very glitchy.
I really love this game. Took me forever to beat it as a kid I didn’t understand the handcuffs so they keep getting back up while I ran around lost however not knowing I had special attacks. Was stuck at the sewers forever lol.
I swear to god i saw a video of yours once where you played every batman video game... But searching for it shows that was only tbe Arkham games, even worse because i know i saw a video like this before and i simply can't find it
I prefer 3rd person action-adventure games like Vengeance, but The Rise of Sin Tzu is easier to control and a bit more pleasant to play, despite being a more repetitive beat-em-up game. + It can be played with friends which is cool.
And people say Batman had bad games before the Arkham came along WRONG!! Batman was right up there with Spider-Man when it comes to great games like theses
1:22 I like older games though there's something about the nostalgia of it especially when old game gets a remastered like the turok trilogy which I just downloaded and started playing the first game of so good same with the thing remastered
Thank you not being an arrogant douche like so many people and saying “some of you gen z…. “ and not assuming the entire younger generation dislikes old games. I have a lot of old games I love and Im not the only one
This game was so difficult as a kid, did you ever learn how to instantly KO a thug? That special meter has to be full Also, the worst old batman game might be Batman Dark Tomorrow
ubisoft & Batman sound awfully like a bad joke we were meant to gloss over. I can’t believe I put Batman & ubisoft in the same sentence. Notice how Batman is capitalized & that despicable studio isn’t…
This may seem like a random comment but id love that boy aqua to cover the original incredibles game! I had so much fun with it and i think he would too!
Old doesn't mean bad. People are just spoiled nowadays by "triple A" slop lol Edit: As for the speed issues. You probably have to cap your fps to a certain limit.
Gta4 checkpoints being bad? While I get it. Try playing the final boss of cave story. No check points for the entire level up to him, no checkpoints during the fight. NOTHING. Or do what I recently did, get at least 10 endings in shadow the hedgehog just to convince my buddy to play 06.
It's not even that Ubisoft makes "bad" games in the traditional sense, they just make consistently average to decent games especially in the recent few years minus Prince of Persia Lost Crown. They have a nasty habbit of overhyping and making their games sound so innovating that they are going to be the best thing ever and instead it just turns out to be okay at best. When it comes to the internet, average gets considered bad and when you make consistently average media, people will exaggerate them for being worse than they actually are. That and Ubisoft desperately needs a new PR team because their current one is just not good at all. As much as I'm not the world's biggest Raycevick fan, he's esstentially saying what I'm saying here but in greater detail. It's like an actor always starring in consistently average movies, sure they aren't terrible, but if you don't star in the greatest movies of all time, you tend to be considered the worst actor of all time, you can pretty much look Dwayne Johnson or Keanu Reeves in between Point Break and the Matrix or him again inbetween Matrix Revolutions and John Wick. Another example is Nicolas Cage from 2006 until the late 2010s.
I play PS2 games on emulator almost every month and from what I can tell from the gameplay footage, the game just looks like shit to me, I don't mean the visuals I mean more so the way combat looks. It looks like something Enter the Matrix would do later with it's whole 3D fighter like camera during hand to hand combat but that game at least had bullet time, cooling looking martial arts moves and gunplay, this game from what I can tell just looks like it's primarily combat and any 3D beat em up that predates Onimusha and Devil May Cry tend to be not so good. I know you are trying make the game sound like it's worth playing but it just seems like it was deserving of the review scores it got at the time. The Batman Begins game at least had the puzzle like stealth sequences, the cool looking rewards for scaring guards and the Burnout style Batmobile sections, this game just seems to be nothing but dull combat. This game looks like if the Batman Begins game was primarily nothing but those awkward fist fighting sequences and not the stuff I previously mentioned. I know I should play the game for myself to judge but usually when game critics give older games mixed or bad reviews scores, they tend to live up to that reputation. The only thing that might make me look into them if they somehow get a cult following, but I'm not even sure if there are that many older games with cult followings that got lukewarm or bad reviews. Games journalism was at it's most valuable back in that time compared to now since in those days, they were the only way to get game reviews out there. There was some obscure internet forum outside of that. I also doubt this game influenced Splinter Cell since that series was pitched as the Thief games in modern day rather than a Steampunk setting.
Check out the holiday deals at Green Man Gaming, running until January 10th! There are deals on all the Arkham games! bit.ly/ThatBoyAqua

“Better than real life” is crazy
Someone save bro ☠

This game was a dream come true when I was a kid. I was (and still am) in love with BTAS and being able to inhabit that world as Batman was amazing.

For some goddamn reason, at 2:17 I thought "damn this Delsin Rowe cosplay goes crazy"😭😭
If the footage wasn’t real I’d say this was a joke
They've actually made two, the other being rise of Sin Tzu as well as Vengeance and I love them both, still replay them occasionally do this day

Ubisoft has a ton of bangers. They've only gone down hill in the last decade or so.
