They stopped everything and they an ambulance across the football field to get her. It was at that moment I knew that cheerleading wasn't in the cards for me. RIP random girl that broke her rib.

We do not get along with everyone in American schools lmao. We’re very vocal about who we don’t like and who we do like. I get the impression that Korean teens, even if they don’t like each other, they put up with it. In America, kids will let you know vocally or physically that they dislike you lol

Aw, back when I was a cheerleader in high school, no matter how intense the sports teams' rivalries were, the cheerleaders were nice. The squads gave small gifts (like a plate/bag of cookies for the whole squad - one cookie for each cheerleader) to each other and all that. Competitions had a cooperative feel too; hair or equipment failure backstage? Anyone will help. Granted, I was out in California, so sports weren't like a second religion the way it is in some parts of the US. Still, the feeling was nice.
Yes, literal, actual snakes. The principal for each school is a certified snake wrangler, and the school nurse is adept at identifying symptoms of snake venom.

At my high school, it wasn't just the guys; some of the female bases could lift the flyers with one arm too! I wasn't good enough of a base to do that, but it was cool seeing some of my seniors pulling that off.
as a former high school cheerleader- this is how it really looks like, it's hours of practice and hard work, it's not just sexy dances and pompoms. We throw people in the air, we literally trust each other with out lives. I was a base (the person who holds the person on top and catches them) and our rule is not never let the flyer touch the ground, even if it means you falling down with the whole stunt.
They should react to marching bands, especially HBCU schools. I remember when I was in marching band in highschool and we didn't have to take gym class because all of the workouts we did in band.

Well remember that not every school can have a good cheer coach so I’m sure the girls on the team have a lot of potential they just need a better coach. And if they are just dancing to pop songs then it’s not even cheer it’s just dancing..

@cniknik98 yeah like pep band, jazz bands, and halftime marching performances/competitions. I’m in marching band and pep band (unfortunately this is my last year and I didn’t really get to do much) and I watch a lot of performances when I get bored. There are a lot of great bands out there so that would be really cool.
Nah even better, drum corps. Now that is intense. They literally spend all day everyday for an entire summer before touring around the country for different competitions for the season

It seemed so dead in the stadium and it seemed like they weren’t even cheering, it looked like they were just doing the stunts and the routines just to do it. This is just my opinion, compared to all the cheerleading and majorette dancing I’ve seen.
I really like how respectful they were with their comments. Even in the US many people see cheerleading as a “frou frou” activity and fail to appreciate the skill and athleticism necessary. I think marching band definitely is a must see! They exist in Japan and Taiwan as well but I’m not sure how popular they are in Korea. A Texas high school football game is a really good show of scale too.
Koreans are amazed about how wonderful the US is.. And us Indians admire Korea a lot! We all are soo different but still so diversed! May we always learn from each other and share love to each other ❣️
Agreed! There's something amazing about every country around the world when we peer closer. I think I want to actively campaign in my country to have a better train or subway system. South Korean and Japan are super clean and effective. If I could master Indian food, I would try it, too.
Watching this as a competitive cheerleader was just great. They're reactions were so cute, and I overall just liked seeing them be shocked that these girls were so in sync. I'm about to watch the other cheer video being recommended, and I CAN'T wait to see how crazy they get when they see the girls being thrown in the air!

Everyone is saying, "They should show them this or they should show them that...." RELAX! These boys are just high school boys in Korea and this clip was just to get their reactions on typical HS pep squads and their performances...something that they don't have as an incorporated sports program in Korean high schools. They have professional cheerleading at major league baseball games in stadiums, but it's different than what we see at our professional sports games. The whole point of this was to show these Korean boys something different and unique about American high schools and get their reactions and opinions about it. You should also understand that they don't know the difference between HS cheerleading, drill teams, etc. Just be humbled and thankful that foreigners watching American HS cheerleading are showing amazement and respect to the hundreds and thousands HS kids toiling away after school, trying-out, practicing, and competing to do their very best to give a good show when it's game day!
This reminds me of when I moved to korea and I was a competitive cheerleader in America, and I showed someone a video at school and they were so shocked, and everyone thought I was some crazy athlete at school lmfao
I'm a retired cheerleader myself, I loved watching their reactions to this! My squad had a whole new coach and everything when I first joined sophomore year, so we all worked hard. Our goal was to get to competition, and do our best. We all enjoyed it! I'm glad they got to see what full competition teams can do
I did Junior cheer(elementary, not for my school it was literally a team that went to competitions) It's so much work. I remember being miserable all the time hoping practice would be cancelled, i always felt slower and like I couldn't remember the sequences, I remember literally crying while performing in the competition cause I felt like I was making the team look bad. I brought it up recently to my mom and she said "what do you mean? I don't remember you being behind at all." I literally remember one of my team mates trying to smile and comfort me during that competition... While we were performing! We were literally rolling around and jumping up and all these quick motions while shaking our shiny pom poms!(She was so real for noticing and trying to be so sweet to help me relax even as we were throwing our bodies across the floor in our routine 😭 ❤)I think now we couldn't have been too bad because of me though cause... I'm pretty sure we got third during that match? But I thought for the longest time we could've done better if I was better lol😂 I think part of my frustration and insecurity was because i wasn't in the same school as any of them and I wasn't allowed to go to other people's homes(and Mom would never invite anyone that wasn't family or a close family friend into ours) so I didn't feel like we were a close team, i didn't feel like we were friends cause you never got time to talk during practice. You were on the move, learning new routines and doing different methods all the time, there was no room to take a break and talk. I didn't even know anyones name. I literally remember just having practice for an hour straight at least once a week, feeling sore, miserable, and lonely then boom competition and repeat. So yeah all of that is a lot of time and dedication. And most likely ten times more intensive and exhausting than what I experienced. 😅 I couldn't even do a cartwheel, I'd d!e trying to do those flips lol
Ah I had uniforms where I went and it was kind of nice not having to worry about being judged for wearing something that wasn't considered 'in style' or something
I so love how they reacted. Being a cheerleader in an American High School means most, but not all, guys either think you're easy or belittle you because "cheer isn't a sport." It's truly infuriating to go through. But these guys in this video think cheer is so cool and are seeing it as a competition, arranged thing like a sport that the girls are working hard for. Needless to say, I loved this video.

At the beginning, depending on your school some do wear uniforms. They are mostly more plain than SK uniforms unless you go to a private/boarding school. I wore uniforms up until high school for the most part.
I didn’t make my cheer team cuz in the tryout I literally RIPPED my freakin shorts. Thank god there was only females coach (it was still embarrassing tho)
I know in certain parts of America the schools don't have a very good social environment and everyone's going thru it. But where I'm at we have massive spirit. For the most part we all support each other, don't tolerate dumb shit. If you're a new kid and you're bringing drama to the school, the OGs let you know to knock it off. And I'm saying this an introverted art kid. Mad respect for my school.
Let them know it doesn’t take ten years to do what the cheerleaders can do. They practice everyday before the new school year starts and even during the school year. It’s hard work for each of the cheerleaders but at the end, it’s perfect and amazing to see.
Seeing how amazed they are by just high school cheerleading I would LOVE to see them react to all-star competition cheer lol I think they would be left speechless! loved this!
Man, this reminds me of my older sister who was a high school cheerleader and turned to competitive cheerleading. She was a flyer and the hard work she put in was crazy, especially when I think about how she was just a teenager. Cheerleaders train so hard and they're so prone to injuries. My own sister broke her leg when one flying stunt went wrong. I respect all cheerleaders, it's NOT easy and takes a lot of practice and effort. 😭
Me and my mom used to watch the competitions a long time ago. They are some of the most fiercely competitive sports. The moms alone were uh kind of scary lol.
In the first video that you show, that was my high school!! That was during one of our pep rallies where the whole school gathers together to support sports teams, the marching band, and achievements from clubs. I graduated from there in 2018 but its so cool seeing you guys reacting to my old school! I definitely think you guys should react to marching bands next, at the high school level, college level and competitive level (Drum Corps International or DCI) too!
Nope. Not a typo. What was put on the screen was a translation of what they were saying. The English language isn’t the same as theirs. They had to improvise to describe pompoms because I’m pretty sure the word isn’t in their language. Not all English words are translatable to another language, and most of the time the wording is changed as well. Also the word c*ck isn’t originally a bad word, it was changed overtime by people and now it does mean a male part but it still has other meanings.

It would be even better if they reacted to competitive cheer for people in college. The stunts, tumbling, and jumps are truly incredible and so much happens at once.
I hope you all continue this - but not make it so "vanilla". With that being said - add more flava. Like the majorettes and dance squads that do incorporate gymnastics and cheer...and, give you the latest in dance moves - which is then stolen and claimed to be made up by someone (vanilla) else... Then a fight will break out...
I think it would also be cool to show them marching band performances during half time shows at high school or college football games. Those can be super cool and if they liked the cheerleader's synchronicity in this video, they would probably appreciate a good half time show.

@@Loriani93 No, I went to a public school and we wore uniforms. But our uniforms were basically khaki pants and a collared shirt with the school crest/logo. We didn't have blazers, ties, skirts, etc. The one private school in our district wore the typical 'school' uniforms you see in movies. But most schools in America either wear casual clothes or pants and a collared shirt.

As someone who cheered for 7+ years, I loved watching this video! You should have them react to American competitive cheerleading! California Allstars Smoed, Cheer Extreme Senior Elite, and Navarro College are all really great teams!

Some cheerleaders may have some acrobatic background, but many of them start training their freshman year. One of our daughters was a flyer, (the ones being tossed and lifted in the air) 2 of my boys were base/backspot.
This is giving me memories omg I was a cheerleader for a few years, I stopped before I went to highschool because wow it’s a lot of work lol We had practice like 3 out of 5 weekdays, Saturday’s we always had games, then Sunday’s we would have our competitions. I remember one trip we had to make was a few hours, I had to wake up so early lmfaoo I don’t miss it and if I continued, I would be so exhausted and probably wouldn’t have done well in my studies.
Awesome video! I was a cheerleader! And yes, there is a lot of preparation training that has to happen before you make it onto a "squad" or competition team. Girls and guys often times start with acrobatics and dance at a young age, about five years old. Many dance and tumbling schools now offer competition cheerleading teams for younger kids to join. Then when they enter junior high, high school, and college, you go to "try outs" and compete for a spot on a team. Practices can be long and physically demanding. It is dangerous and serious injuries do happen. Competitions are important but the cheerleaders are definitely a part of the crowd experience when going to American football and basketball games. The keep the energy and positive spirit of the team and crowd going and often perform at breaks and half time. The expectations and demands on cheerleaders for practice (rehearsal before and aften school and during school breaks, time (practicing on own), and execution (must be completely sychronized) of routines is not unlike the expectations kpop idols have placed on them. They are also expected to have good grades academically and excellent behavior personally. But you are right when you call them "strong sisters." It does become like a family with physically and mentally strong determined individuals that work hard as a team. Watch college teams!!! There is a lot more participation from men at that level and they can throw those girls really high. It is a bit scary! 😂 Many former male gymnasts and football or soccer players that have had injuries join cheerleading if they can no longer do the other sports.

Everyone is saying, "They should show them this or they should show them that...." RELAX! These boys are just high school boys in Korea and this clip was just to get their reactions on typical HS pep squads and their performances...something that they don't have as an incorporated sports program in Korean high schools. They have professional cheerleading at major league baseball games in stadiums, but it's different than what we see at our professional sports games. The whole point of this was to show these Korean boys something different and unique about American high schools and get their reactions and opinions about it. You should also understand that they don't know the difference between HS cheerleading, drill teams, etc. Just be humbled and thankful that foreigners watching American HS cheerleading are showing amazement and respect to the hundreds and thousands HS kids toiling away after school, trying-out, practicing, and competing to do their very best to give a good show when it's game day!

I'm a retired cheerleader myself, I loved watching their reactions to this! My squad had a whole new coach and everything when I first joined sophomore year, so we all worked hard. Our goal was to get to competition, and do our best. We all enjoyed it! I'm glad they got to see what full competition teams can do

I did Junior cheer(elementary, not for my school it was literally a team that went to competitions)
It's so much work. I remember being miserable all the time hoping practice would be cancelled, i always felt slower and like I couldn't remember the sequences, I remember literally crying while performing in the competition cause I felt like I was making the team look bad.
I brought it up recently to my mom and she said "what do you mean? I don't remember you being behind at all."
I literally remember one of my team mates trying to smile and comfort me during that competition... While we were performing! We were literally rolling around and jumping up and all these quick motions while shaking our shiny pom poms!(She was so real for noticing and trying to be so sweet to help me relax even as we were throwing our bodies across the floor in our routine 😭 ❤)I think now we couldn't have been too bad because of me though cause... I'm pretty sure we got third during that match? But I thought for the longest time we could've done better if I was better lol😂
I think part of my frustration and insecurity was because i wasn't in the same school as any of them and I wasn't allowed to go to other people's homes(and Mom would never invite anyone that wasn't family or a close family friend into ours) so I didn't feel like we were a close team, i didn't feel like we were friends cause you never got time to talk during practice. You were on the move, learning new routines and doing different methods all the time, there was no room to take a break and talk. I didn't even know anyones name. I literally remember just having practice for an hour straight at least once a week, feeling sore, miserable, and lonely then boom competition and repeat.
So yeah all of that is a lot of time and dedication. And most likely ten times more intensive and exhausting than what I experienced. 😅 I couldn't even do a cartwheel, I'd d!e trying to do those flips lol

I so love how they reacted. Being a cheerleader in an American High School means most, but not all, guys either think you're easy or belittle you because "cheer isn't a sport." It's truly infuriating to go through. But these guys in this video think cheer is so cool and are seeing it as a competition, arranged thing like a sport that the girls are working hard for. Needless to say, I loved this video.

At the beginning, depending on your school some do wear uniforms. They are mostly more plain than SK uniforms unless you go to a private/boarding school. I wore uniforms up until high school for the most part.

But where I'm at we have massive spirit. For the most part we all support each other, don't tolerate dumb shit. If you're a new kid and you're bringing drama to the school, the OGs let you know to knock it off.

Let them know it doesn’t take ten years to do what the cheerleaders can do. They practice everyday before the new school year starts and even during the school year. It’s hard work for each of the cheerleaders but at the end, it’s perfect and amazing to see.
Please have them react to an American High School pep rally! (Usually happens before the homecoming game to get school spirit up before the big game)

Man, this reminds me of my older sister who was a high school cheerleader and turned to competitive cheerleading. She was a flyer and the hard work she put in was crazy, especially when I think about how she was just a teenager. Cheerleaders train so hard and they're so prone to injuries. My own sister broke her leg when one flying stunt went wrong. I respect all cheerleaders, it's NOT easy and takes a lot of practice and effort. 😭

Me and my mom used to watch the competitions a long time ago. They are some of the most fiercely competitive sports. The moms alone were uh kind of scary lol.

In the first video that you show, that was my high school!! That was during one of our pep rallies where the whole school gathers together to support sports teams, the marching band, and achievements from clubs. I graduated from there in 2018 but its so cool seeing you guys reacting to my old school! I definitely think you guys should react to marching bands next, at the high school level, college level and competitive level (Drum Corps International or DCI) too!

Nope. Not a typo. What was put on the screen was a translation of what they were saying. The English language isn’t the same as theirs. They had to improvise to describe pompoms because I’m pretty sure the word isn’t in their language. Not all English words are translatable to another language, and most of the time the wording is changed as well. Also the word c*ck isn’t originally a bad word, it was changed overtime by people and now it does mean a male part but it still has other meanings.

It would be even better if they reacted to competitive cheer for people in college. The stunts, tumbling, and jumps are truly incredible and so much happens at once.
I hope you all continue this - but not make it so "vanilla". With that being said - add more flava. Like the majorettes and dance squads that do incorporate gymnastics and cheer...and, give you the latest in dance moves - which is then stolen and claimed to be made up by someone (vanilla) else... Then a fight will break out...
I think it would also be cool to show them marching band performances during half time shows at high school or college football games. Those can be super cool and if they liked the cheerleader's synchronicity in this video, they would probably appreciate a good half time show.

@@Loriani93 No, I went to a public school and we wore uniforms. But our uniforms were basically khaki pants and a collared shirt with the school crest/logo. We didn't have blazers, ties, skirts, etc. The one private school in our district wore the typical 'school' uniforms you see in movies. But most schools in America either wear casual clothes or pants and a collared shirt.

Some cheerleaders may have some acrobatic background, but many of them start training their freshman year. One of our daughters was a flyer, (the ones being tossed and lifted in the air) 2 of my boys were base/backspot.

We had practice like 3 out of 5 weekdays, Saturday’s we always had games, then Sunday’s we would have our competitions. I remember one trip we had to make was a few hours, I had to wake up so early lmfaoo
I don’t miss it and if I continued, I would be so exhausted and probably wouldn’t have done well in my studies.

Awesome video! I was a cheerleader! And yes, there is a lot of preparation training that has to happen before you make it onto a "squad" or competition team. Girls and guys often times start with acrobatics and dance at a young age, about five years old. Many dance and tumbling schools now offer competition cheerleading teams for younger kids to join. Then when they enter junior high, high school, and college, you go to "try outs" and compete for a spot on a team. Practices can be long and physically demanding. It is dangerous and serious injuries do happen. Competitions are important but the cheerleaders are definitely a part of the crowd experience when going to American football and basketball games. The keep the energy and positive spirit of the team and crowd going and often perform at breaks and half time. The expectations and demands on cheerleaders for practice (rehearsal before and aften school and during school breaks, time (practicing on own), and execution (must be completely sychronized) of routines is not unlike the expectations kpop idols have placed on them. They are also expected to have good grades academically and excellent behavior personally. But you are right when you call them "strong sisters." It does become like a family with physically and mentally strong determined individuals that work hard as a team. Watch college teams!!! There is a lot more participation from men at that level and they can throw those girls really high. It is a bit scary! 😂 Many former male gymnasts and football or soccer players that have had injuries join cheerleading if they can no longer do the other sports.
