- Finally got him. Never would I have ever thought that I'd have a hunt go over 50,000 encounters. Absolutely crazy and I hope, if it were to happen again that it doesn't for a while!
Shiny Meowth finally appears after 3 50% Pikachu. I love the sprite in Diamond and Pearl for Meowth so much. This is a reclaim of a hunt I did back before I live recorded my hunts. I have around 20 shinies without a video and I certainly want to try and "reclaim" them live eventually.
Sorry about the audio in the Meowth clip. Not sure why it corrupted but I'm just thankful I got the video footage.
Trophy Garden is a great place to hunt but it can be brutal for phasing.

Hey guys - Really sorry about the lack of audio in the Meowth clip. I don't know what happened but the audio was just distorted and crackling. Pretty sure it's to do with some recent driver update but it works fine now, so no idea. Hopefully no repeat.

Congrats dude!! My longest radar chain was 51 and I got 11 shiny eevee... I was so ticked off it taking so long and that the first time I only got 1 so I made the most of my good luck... and 200+ repels. the drawback: their natures are all garbage for any eeveeloution. Congrats to you man!!!

I know this is an old video but. I am wondering if you would ever be interested in showing your shiny Pokemon in the other settings in the respective generation or game? eg. Contests, Super contests, Pokethlon, Musicals etc.
One of my favorite things to do with shiny Pokemon is watch them participate in those side events

I can make a pretty good guess out of context why Shiny Meowth reminds you of FireRed. Remember Trainer Tower? The battle facility in the Sevii Islands that takes like 5 years to gain access to? Well, in each format of Trainer Tower, one of the trainers is guaranteed to have a Shiny Pokemon. In Single Battles, this Shiny Pokemon was Meowth. I could be completely wrong, but it seemed like a funny coincidence that you mentioned FireRed when looking at Shiny Meowth so I thought I'd bring that up.
Oh wow, Meowth is also one of my favorite shinies. Not because of its appearance, but because of the fact it was my first shiny ever. Random encounter in PokeMMO, but still my first shiny ever seen. Plus I killed it cause I was a noob at knowing moves' effects lol. I have since reclaimed it in FireRed. And it took me only roughly 2k encounters; literally screamed when it scrolled in.
52K is wild!! Grats to you for sticking with it. This is a hunt I think I'm going to add to my "eventually" list, that 4th Gen sprite is really good.
Question: What do you use to record your hunts? Is it just a capture card DS in OBS?

I found a shiny meowth when I was around 10 and i had no clue what a shiny was. I was smart enough to know what it was, but i evolved it and regretted it. Still have it on my save file for leafgreen.
Man 52k is insane for a meowth... I just spent 3k on a shellder egg and I thought that was long 😢 I can't even imagine going for 52k...

Meowth’s sprite looks like its doing its best to mimic Team Rocket’s Meowth
Been screaming at this hunt in Crystal for God knows how long now, it's killing me. But I mean it's not as bad as this hunt-
Super hype video as always! :-) Meowth's shiny is modest but the minor color change is really nice. And hey, at least you got a couple of new Pikachu under your belt! Do you plan to evolve the Meowth or keep him the way he is?

I remember back when D/P was released i was trying to figure out how the poke radar worked finding a shiny, watched a lot of vids on TH-cam and couldn't figure it out and my aim was a shiny Pikachu as I was trying to figure it out i found a shiny Pikachu and was blown away good days :)

Once you see every Pokémon in the Sinnoh dex, the professor will upgrade your Pokédex into the national dex and give you the Poké Radar. Hope this helps 🙂

Awesome shiny congrats! I have a couple questions about the trophy garden hunts and would love some advice/knowledge if you see this comment. I plan on repelling for some of the level 18's here like chansey, clefairy and maybe my own meowth. Do all of the daily's have 50% in the morning or is that just meowth specific? As for the chansey and clefairy, will their odds increase if I use a cute charm male level 18 to repel? This vid is a year old, so I am not sure if you or anyone else who reads this will know the answers I am looking for. Hard to find info on repels so any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Hey! I can help for sure.
1) The game will generate a Pokémon to appear in the 5% level 18 slot at midnight. This lasts the entire day and it's Morning, Day and Night, not a specific time period.
2) The game will push the previous level 18 slot to a 5% level 16 encounter slot meaning you have two daily Pokémon at any given time, at 5% encounter rate each & level 18/16.
3) A level 18 repel trick can be done at 50% Pikachu + 50% your target which you can choose here; www.serebii.net/pokearth/sinn...
4) White Flute + Illuminate is recommended as the encounter rate is slow.
5) You can keep your Trophy Garden target in the area by playing your game on another system without saving. The DS swap trick. This prevents time from passing (make sure to save after you get your shiny!)
6) Cute Charm is broken in Gen 4. Don't use Cute Charm.
