    The Wrangler tires are terribly loud especially after break-in; the hum gets maddening. Very happy with replacement Pirelli Scorpion so far. Thanks for your final review of it.

    I'm hoping that LZ0 gets placed into the Tahoe as well. Looking forward to your future comments on LZ0. Well, that and a new leadership willing to refine diesel fuel. :)

    It will be interesting to hear your thoughts on the LZO. I’m considering going to that, waiting to see what happens with pricing. Seems generous motors is waiting too.

    On the rear suspension I had a heavy duty Roadactive suspension fitted - it helped stabilise the tow ride and rear sag a little. I later removed it. I then had the lowest leaf spring removed and replaced with two thinner springs manufactured by a specialist spring company - it raised the rear and made it sturdier towing but made no difference to the solo ride so I’m very happy. Otherwise the truck has done 35k trouble-free miles - no plans to replace it yet.

      That is great. Could you share the spring provider information? I'm going to be towing tomorrow so I'll see if I need bags on this one or maybe go the spring route. The shocks are better at controlling rebound so we will see... Thank for posting.

    I am getting the same 175 miles until speed limited to 65 mph and have about 40k on my 2020 GMC 3.0. I get the error and low and behold the next day its gone....been doing it off anon for months. I was also getting the P2383 code. I debated taking it to gmc dealership but on most forums I heard that it was not covered.

      Depending on the relationship that you have with your local dealer and service writer, I would call them up and make sure that it is covered. It's a known problem with the wire harness on the LM2 and since it's emissions related it should be covered under the 60k powertrain warranty. If you take a look at the sound deadening on the firewall just above the turbo you will probably see where that harness has been rubbing when you let off the throttle, that was the sign mine had the questionable cable and when it was able to measure the DPF pressure the light went off... Keep me posted on what you hear from the dealer, it will probably keep getting worse till the harness gets repaired.

    Got a 2022 refresh, brand new in june, 10 days later i got an airbag that went, 2 weeks after that the camera for lane assistance also broke and now at 15k (kms) vibration at high speed and clunking while stopping either from reverse or going forward…love this truck but not impressed on reliability

      I've heard several negatives about the 2021 & 2022 model years quality due to the auto part and labor market at the time.

      ​@@Italianborn GM was never really know for making reliable equipment yeah... and by what you say the engine so far looks like its doing great! its just like the old dodge rams, the engine is good but everything around it is junk🤣

      @@Velkanis actually gm with Allison transmission , specially on the 2500 was one of the best reliable truck, there are still tons of it driving fine… just the newer 10 speed transmission along with the fact that those newer diesel can’t be deleted will probably make me trade this.

      Many parts manufacturers work with multiple major brands. I personally have had very few issues with GM trucks that have not been corrected under warranty. I have a new 2021 motor home with a Cummins 6.7 under the hood. Motor shit the bed after only 4K miles. Even though I am primarily a GM truck customer the motor home I wanted had the 5500 Ram Cummins under it. I was super impressed with the Cummins until it failed. The real fact is I took the vehicle in for service and the tech told me the motor had a weird sound in it. I could not hear the sound he was saying he could hear. Cummins sent the local rep to the dealer and he agreed there was a motor problem and authorized a new motor swap. Dealer told me it was a 20K swing. Zero to me. All of these new vehicles are a complex combination of parts and technology working in concert. As long as the manufacturers stand behind their vehicles warranty it’s all good. I have owned three 6.6 Duramax trucks, one 3.0 Duramax truck and one 6.7 Cummins motor home. Knowing everything I know now about these vehicles I would buy any and all of them again including the Cummins. Currently have a 2023 High Country 3.0 on order. Buy what you like, wear your seat belt and drink cold beer!

    How often do you change your oil? Fuel filter? Do you follow the manufacturer's recommendations, or do you have your own schedule?

      I have been doing oil analysis for both this truck and the new one to make sure everything is good, here is the link: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1H1zXVoUJiPSEzkMdXtYeBX9KNuu7g6dM6L-vjZLRS7Q/edit?usp=drivesdk I normally do the first change early, ~2,500 miles, and try to do the second also early to clean anything out then I'll start changing it around 7,000 miles or when I'm at about 10% on the oil life meter. As for the fuel filter that is between 20k and 25k, or when the fuel filter gets to around 10% also. The mileage can vary but is based on how many gallons you use if you have clean fuel going in. I'm sure it would flag you early if there was a large restriction due to dirty fuel. Thanks for the question and for watching.

    Great information, enjoyed all the comments. I thought about ordering the upgraded mirrors, but fortunately talked myself out of it…seeing them on your old truck makes me glad that I didn’t go with them. Curious to learn more about your thoughts on the LZ0 once you get some more time with it. I actually swapped my 20” wheels to 18” wheels, but can tell very little difference in ride quality and fuel economy (LM2). Does your new truck have fog lights?

    What was the fix the dealer did for the harnesses coming too close to the firewall insulation? I just looked at my LM2 Yukon and one of the two harnesses is coming very close to the firewall. I can push it down and give it more clearance but I know in time it will creep its way back up…

      The dealership will replace the connector with a new pigtail wire and splice it into the harness. I'm not really sure if it will last longer or not but I believe I had the problem because of all the towing that I was doing. The wire rubbed when you let off the throttle and the engine rotated during engine braking/slowing the truck down. I have only heard of one other person having that problem so far. Maybe it might be good to put a zip tie to keep it down, that worked for me... Keep me posted.

    Alright, an update on the 2020! Did you happen at all to run into a P1048 code in that 51,000mi? After seeing your issue and that wiring harness deal, I think the next time that customer's truck comes back we'll have something more to look at. The code sets only when they go through a local car wash. We tried hosing the engine bay, washing it at the one down from us, can't duplicate it. We even put a new DEF injector and the connector end on it going after the possibility of water intrusion for the DEF injector.

    The diesel cap is a good idea. Where did you find it for the Silverado/Sierra? I can only find something that looks identical but the description says it's only for RAM. Seems it should work on the GM product but...

      @@CJIEngineering Thanks Chad. That's the one I found as well. I'll order it. Really enjoying my Sierra AT4 with the LZ0. 1,500 miles in and it seems like a goldilocks powertrain. Tons of grunt and 23-26 mpg hwy is incredible for a lifted truck.

    Do you ever hand-check your fuel mileage, or do you rely on the display? I always hand-calculate it myself, and it never matches what the display says (5.3 gas). It only comes close on long highway trips. I don't think the display likes transients. Maybe the tables in the diesels are better?

      I use fuelly.com and the "acar" app on my Android phone to document all of my fill ups but there are a few that I missed. The screen is close but like you said never perfect. According to my other data the mpg over the whole ownership time was 17.062 MPG. Thanks for the question.

      The last two 5.3 gas trucks I've owned have been within 0.2 mpg. Both direct injection. Modern fuel systems and computers makes the mpg estimate extremely accurate. The fuel pump at the gas station is less precise.

      @@hochhaul gas station pumps are tested regularly for accuracy by the state's bureau of weights and measures. They're very precise.

    Does the new LZ0 with 3.73 gears hurt you in the fuel mileage department?

      Samuel, thanks for the question. I'm seeing about 27mpg on the highway and 12.2mpg towing my trailer. So about 1mpg lower on the highway but 1mpg better towing the trailer... That was the original LM2 with the highway tires, when I switched to the all terrains I was only getting 26mpg on the highway. Let me know if you have any other questions.

      The GM bulletin to fix it suggests removing the cab from the chassis. And I'm not letting them do that. It always starts immediately after that happens

      I did not have that problem. There is an ECU update that also addresses the no start problem. The LZ0 and more recent LM2 take an extra revolution to start to fire but if it's not really bad I think they would go that route instead of replacing the cam sensor or cam ring gear, that is why they need to pull the cab.       @@core8967 thats the cam reluctor wheel deviation that one of the parts manufacturers GM had sourced was slightly over spec and whenever the engine lands in that exact spot it doesnt start, theres updated PCM calibrations that solve the issue by giving the cam sensor a few extra miliseconds to read the wheel better, its a permanent solution 100% safe and no cab has to be lifted!

      I did get the computer update October of 2021. It didn't do it again for 4 months after that. But now it does it occasionally. Maybe I should take it back in

      @@core8967 you may have either a completely different issue to the original one thats haunting you now or it may be that your truck has a bent reluctor wheel and the calibration is only capable of doing so much before its too bent out of line, if it gets too frequent id advice you do go get her checked before it goes into a bigger problem later...

      Thanks for the question. I routinely tow a flatbed trailer with various items on it that weighs just over 9,000 lbs, normally less than 300 miles, GCW of around 15,000 lbs. I did one long trip with a tall enclosed trailer that weighed 7,900 lbs, GCW 14,000 lbs, this was just over 1,600 miles. Let me know if you have any other questions.
