Life is about experiencing, but some might experience it better than others. You live, because you can. It's like god is giving you an opportunity to experience. Even nowadays there are games with no objective, you don't win, or more like you can't win. You just play it because you can.

This, I’m getting vibes from this. I feel like the game is life and we all are just simply trying to win, which is pointless. People fight and argue- trying to get to the top. People mock those beneath them, but when people decide to choose another road- they’re ridiculed, yet it’s smarter to be on a road that isn’t influenced. Think about how the first person left, they had enough, when the second one left they realised there was no point in playing- when the last few left, they realised there’s no point also- but when one talks about how they don’t want to lose and return to the game- the others are influenced by him and also return to the same cycle of the same game.
It’s frightening how close this is to reality.

You know you only have one shot and that time is limited, sure you can waste it and many do, but that still makes life way more fun than this game, the two are nothing like each other.

I have to admit that I didn't predict the "everything simulated" aspect. But the whole thing makes little sense to me. I get that it is supposed to be a commentary on the human experience. But even for a competitive game where you want to "win," there needs to be a clear way to do that. And a win condition of "your opponents agree that you win" does not sound like a fun game, no matter what trappings you place on it. The spaces and the points don't matter. They are a distraction. You are trying to get the other players to agree that you won.

Of course, I do except possibility but the chances to gef a draw with a complete stranger are near impossible. Even if all of them were nice, it was doom to happen because at the start they were told "you will be competing against each other" which automatically trigger there respond to win. This was pretty dark... darn it...
So this was like a metaphor to life and how winning it is so addictive and corrupting at the same time ... the conclusion of "whats the point of this game if we dont actually win anything?" Is basically the conclusion of "whats the point of living if after dying you don't get anything".
All the people who left basically suicided (how most people do in the real world too) bcs they didn't see the point of the game...
But the message is a little bit wrong tho... not all about life must be a competition that you have to win, you shouldn't think about it this way, it should be about having fun and be happy with your beloved ones...

Also it shows how all of life is complete luck that can just go completely wrong or right at any time for no reason. I agree that the point of life is just to get as much enjoyment from it as you can but that is also what creates serial killers and other horrible people because for them the only thing in their lives that gave them enjoyment was the terrible things they did but for most people the relationships and hobbies we have are what gives it to us and we know if we did anything as bad as those people we would not be able to enjoy the other things we do as much

In fact, I don’t see this as being about our existence, our lives are NOT pointless, they may not have a role in the hypothetical “scheme of things”, but they are worth it. I feel like the story was more about wasting your existence, especially by attaching yourself to vain things. This applies to the excessive attention to the hierarchy in society and relationships, social media (we’re creating a billion-worth market around digital things that do not have an intrinsic value and do not really serve a useful purpose to society) and toxic capitalism.

The Game is a mental game where the objective is to avoid thinking about The Game itself. Thinking about The Game constitutes a loss, which must be announced each time it occurs. It is impossible to win most versions of The Game. Depending on the variation of The Game, the whole world, or all those aware of the game, are playing it all the time. Tactics have been developed to increase the number of people aware of The Game and thereby increase the number of losses.

I've wasted so much time and energy for the sake of my "self image", I rejected myself to get accepted by others. Needless to say it didn't work and the more I've tried, the more I've lost until there wasn't much left to lose but I still kept going since I thought I was already too far to go back and make a change.. and so I kept running after other people's standards instead of my own values. Until, i hit a very low point in life which made me suffer, a lot, and then I finally realized what I have done and how pointless this entire "race" was.
At first I was really mad and resentful, unfortunately i still am to some degree. But now I'm also grateful for the lesson, which I will never forget.

This is soooooo deep and I don’t think anybody here notices it. If ur reading this comment, do u play any games? That could mean very few real, irl games, and basically all video games. Ok, so the ppl in the simulation are ur competitors, and ur stuck in a loop of trying to be at the top, boasting when u r, and when u win, u don’t know it, but u have wasted time on a pointless loop that results in nobody winning anything.
Edit: I watched this again and realized a few things. (This is in the video game idea) The first person leaving is the people not wanting to play because it’s not fun for them. The next person leaving is the people realizing that there is no point in playing the game. The scene where everybody considers leaving, I’m not sure yet but I might make another edit for that. The final scene is the creators, making and coding ideas for the game. But in the end, they are simply coding you into staying.

People here are saying this is supposed to be a metaphor for life as a whole, and I disagree. Saying our entire lives are pointless and we should just stop and end them is not helpful.
The game represents things in life that involve conflict and competition with each other that don't really matter, like trying to becoming richer or more popular than other people, win arguments, or maybe even win actual games. Eventually we realize that these pursuits are pointless and do more harm than good, and it would be better if we just stopped caring and stopped "playing the game."
But we don't because we've "tightly associated our identities with our positions" and so we can't let go even though we want to. We've invested so much into trying to beat someone else and be successful that we don't want to give up. We don't actually want to win the thing we're trying to win anymore, we just want to say "we've won." We're driven more by "self-esteem rather than rationality."

    i have a theory :
the game represents life . you spend your entire human experience pointlessly giving into your selfish impulses and desires to top others and to prove your self worth to the world . but what’s the point ? nothing , that’s it . once you finish the “ game “ , you get nothing . so why spend your life pointlessly attempting to prove your self worth to other people and doing all that you can to feel superior to your peers when it literally doesn’t matter ? you get nothing out of the game , only selfishness and foolery .

The eerie parallel here is that the goal is not just to get a certain amount of points, but specifically to gain more than your opponents, it automatically forces the players against each other and entirely based on luck whether your on top or not means its not your fault the opponents don't like you.
I dont think I need to explain what this parallels, but it still gives me a somber feeling that this is how it is
