Ford Tests Smart Traffic Light Tech

Ford is trialling connected traffic light tech that could make the lights automatically go green to offer clearer routes for ambulances, fire engines and police vehicles. In daily driving situations, the red-green timing information could also be sent to approaching vehicles to reduce congestion.

Finally this is being done. I am a GIS Specialist and have been working on this since 2010. While its easy for car manufacturers to install sensors on the cars, the problem is getting governments to install smart infrastructure. Traffic can flow faster and emergency vehicles can get to where they need to be quicker if this tech is implemented.

Yes, but why would a hacker hack an emergency vehicle, or normal vehicle I mean an ev would just get to the destination slower but would probs still make it to destination in time and for normal vehicles the only thing you can do is make them late

Hahaha dont make me laugh this Yugoslavian company Iskra made 30 years ago green line for Ambulance. Sorry but in 2022 you publish so old solutions its ridicolous. No hard feelings seams automation is came in US with 30 years delay. ;)
