Well remember walking the line from the station [where my grandparents lived] to Rumleigh and beyond after the track was torn up in 1969, you could go as far as you wanted towards Tavistock until the vegetation started to take over probably in the 1980's.The trackbed was cleared to an extent around about 2008 when there seemed to be a real possibility that the line would reopen, unfortunately it didn't happen-better luck this time hopefully.
@sandpit72 I'm aware there's been work near the viaduct done as looks like they have cleared vegetation on floor of old line and something had been unlocked since I last walked some of it
really nice!! thanks for this!!!!
Wow well done, some of it looks tropical
I did that walk in the mid 90s. Still as I remember it. Thanks for putting this up.

Nice one I've always wanted to walk this all the way...
I've done a little of it coming from opposite direction
Can be done if you don't mind getting ripped up on bramble, viaduct was a problem with razor wire, be sure to catch EP3 lots of drama.

Really interesting to see this. I wish they'd re-open that line to Tavistock. Wondering where a new Tavistock station ought to be built too?
Would like to see that line built, lets see if the current Government have got it in them after shelving many projects.
