Great fun, really enjoyed this, this line was always on Dumpman Films' list, but somehow haven't got round to it yet. I did sneak into Shillamill tunnel a few years ago though and have been on Shillamill viaduct, wonderful stuff.
There should have been an act of parliament stating that the Permanent Way never be built on or destroyed. All that massive endeavour scuppered and only one way south, nothing for the folk of mid-Devon. Thank you for your video.
These videos just goes to show that so so much of the old railway network in Devon has been lost forever. It would be wonderful if the Plymouth to Tavistock line would reopen but there has been much talk about it for years. Personally i don't think it will ever happen.
Just part of a line that should never have been destroyed. But of course, it was, and don't just blame Beeching. Take a look at who the transport minister was when all these destruction plans were being drawn up. Check out his real interests and agenda. This route was destroyed after these two, but Labour were no bloody help either!!!

Good news!
This line needs to be reopened now...
Hopefully this will be reopening.
Reopen these lines it does make business sense. There won’t make massive profits because the business involved is public transport system
Oil is to run out, and railways will probably be the only option for heavy transportation.
