Saw Sergio Play yesterday at the Travelers Championship, has an amazing swing in person!
Titleist all da way!
golf club technology in terms of fitting is just awesome now days
You notice the sleeves they put on the Pro drivers are different then R1 you can get in Golf Town.
The sleeves are different because the r1s on tour have a default loft where in stores they have many
Interesting, I've read elsewhere that Sergio actually used a 43.75" driver, and a 42" 3W. If you look at 3:19 you'll see he grips down about another inch from the butt. So if what the guy in the truck says is true, his 44.25" driver is now 43.25". I have a R11S, it's the standard 45.75" length with Stiff shaft Adila RIP 60 gram. I gripped down the shaft today over 2 inches. I'm 5' 9" (1.75m) and now hitting it out of the middle every time and dead straight. I have a 105 - 110 mph swing and the club now feels phenomenal. I would say I'm hitting it further than ever (I carry the ball 240 - 250 yards). For a wee guy like me, these shaft lengths on standard clubs are just too long. Feels much more comfortable and the accuracy is great. I'm heading to get the shaft shortened 2 inches.
How did the shorter driver work out? I'm playing a 41" 3 wood with good results. Lighter swing weight doesn't bother me, actually feels better.
sean craig Hi Sean, I bought a normal R11S 3wood just recently. The shorter shaft in it I have now put into my driver. I hit my driver much further and sweeter with the shorter shaft. I just so happen to play in Spain at a course just north of Sergio's club. He visits my club now and again to play with a friend of his here. A short drive for me now is around 260 yards (measured). Typically I'll hit from between 250 to 280 yards measured (with roll). Around 240 yards carry on average. The long shaft just doesn't work for me. Around 43" works great. Better strikes, fast swinging, straighter shots = confidence :-)
@@meonia11 back in the day, when Tiger was first on tour, he was still using a steel shaft in his driver, playing it at 43.5". I saw that and built my driver to match. Swing speed then was 115-117, I was playing Titanium head (Titleist 975J) with Dynamic Gold x100 shaft. I agree with your assessment, shorter driver allows you to hit the ball square which usually equates to farther... 2020 and I'm researching heavy graphite shafts (70 grams or heavier) to put in my TM M2, gonna go old school and play it short in the 43.5-44" range...
Just throw the tip on any old way no puring or spining of the shaft ?
What about the counter weight in the grip
Where is the counter weight and how much does he use?
The shaft installed is called the Graffaloy Fried Chicken.
It comes in 3 flexes...regular, spicy, and extra crispy.
Wow I wish could have Taylormade golf clubs
Why can't you?
Michael L. It takes about an hour
hey Liles....you didn't flo the shaft.
why dont u do a video on how Sergio likes his friend chicken?
friend chicken?
the drill is a bit overkill
Gary 88 Probably saves all the wrist turning over hundreds of clubs.
