Yes ,already Bengal and some northeast states oppose it and later send all Bangladeshi and burmese Rohingya to Northern India .There are thousands of bangladeshis and Rohingyas refugees in delhi ,gurugram etc ,all of them came here from northeast and bengal .

As a citizen of NAGALAND i assure u that border fencing will never happen, no matter what people out of our state say's they dont know the whole story n all the internal problem.
That is the arrogant attitude which has kept your state so underdeveloped for so long. Atleast others have tried to give a reason that they have family on the other side. This can be solved by issuing some card or something making it easier for the actual familes to cross the border without a visa. But who wants a solution when we can just argue that centre never help us r8? I have been to Nagaland. The road condition saddens me tbh. Everyone is proud of their state but be proud productively.

Putting a fence doesn't meant end of relationship between the families of naga and kuki tribes of Myanmar and India, if they're really that close they can easily come through the legal way of visa and passport. Nothing is more important than national security. You cannot put the interest of two tribes in from of billions of other Indians.

FMR should be replaced with a monthly visitation permit for Nagas and Mizos to meet relatives across the border. But Border should be fenced and FMR removed. Our country's national security is top priority.

With the changing times, everyone has to evolve. Center must use its persuasive skills to convince our Mizo and Naga brothers the need for fencing in the changed scenario and they can facilitate visit of close family members with a permit system. Also, they must keep an eye on negative propaganda by Chinese sponsored interest groups.

We have 1657 new villages that has popped up in Manipur alone since 2005 as per the data. Those villages came into existence in Churachandpur, Tengnoupal , Chandel and Saikul districts which are all Kuki poppy cultivators dominant areas. Perhaps,moved in from Myanmar.
So a fence to keep out this illegal immigrants is a must.
We support NRC and the abrogation of FMR.

Palki, you should know that Longwa is a village in Mon district of Nagaland. The chief of the village who is considered as a tribal king rules over a few dozen of villages in the indian side and another few dozens on the Myanmar side..the randomly made boundary of india and myanmar literally cuts through his house making him eat in india in his kitchen and sleeps in his bedroom which is in myanmar
Many Nagas village are in Myanmar side. During the creation of Nagaland state indian govt fail to consult the landmark boundary of India- Nagaland boundary with Burmese( Myanmar) govt in 1963. India govt should clear Nagaland india-Burma boundary first through talk with Burmese govt and then later do the fencing if necessary.
We must fence indo-myanmar border as soon as possible. Until then there won’t be peace in Northeast.

The number of illegal immigrants settling in the North East is much higher. Especially in Manipur, many of them have been illegally naturalised citizens and they enjoy ST status upon arrival while the Meiteis are considered general. In fact most leaders of their terror outfits are from Myanmar.

The fence is mandatory as Myanmar remains troubled country for very very long time with some problem or the other. So as Bangladesh and Bengal share a lot of thing from culture to language to tradition and food does that mean Bengal should keep its border open. Just 10 years ago there are enclaves of India inside Bangladesh and vise versa. That mean a Bengali person house is in India but his cultivation land is in Bangladesh. There are few localities and even houses that were half in India and were half in Bangladesh.
The border was divided in such a manner that it is considered to be the most complex border of the world to understand but both Bangladesh and India sat together found a solution to the problems.

I myself have seen fencing going on at India Bangladesh border at Meghalaya but this particular border does also seem important and should have covered earlier.
Let the Indian Government unite our people in Myanmar with us(in India) and put us under a single administration under the jurisdiction of India.....only then you can fence the border as much as you like,we won't oppose it

Come and see it by your naked eyes about the conditions of the Nagas and other ethnic tribal people living nearby the borders and within the borders, you'll feel like it was like the early 1900's to late 90's as India cannot do much on its side and myanmar cannot on its side. Some people use to travel 3 days by foot taking advantage of the Free Movement Regime just to buy a bagful of rice(50 kgs) and turns back happily to their homes, some use to come and sell their handicrafts(esp.bamboo basketries) after travelling for more than 2 days through walking. One of the greatest division which was done by both the countries during border demarcation and the best example to let the whole countries know about the division of its own people is that, there is a remote village called Longwa in Nagaland where its Village and Village Chief's house was divided from the centre between India and Myanmar. One will know the real conditions of the people when one sets its foot on their crying soil.

Without knowing others traditional boundaries i can't give comment on fence border because in most of the boders, political map and traditional boundaries are quite different. Someone should not pressure someone to fence without knowing others actual boundaries.

Please don't judge by its cover guys! Dig into India history for more details. Do not make such mistake again.Instead of fencing, we need to claim back our land that is given and divided by the British ,because that is our original right. Claim back those land and fence it! Because: some part of land belong to Nagas and our brothers and sisters living in without any facility from either Myanmar Govt. And india Govt controlled by so called Naga national movement. You may fence it but the history will remain forever ,we should not let archaeologists dig out all the details after a thousand year rather we can make it happen at this time. People who are good at history and polity will understand this. During harrapan civilization to Vedic age,they fought for cattles ,and then Mahajanapas time ,they fought for territories so and so on. Now don't fight for fencing , fight for the justice that the British took away from us. I am afraid this may not bring peace but tensions among the neighbouring community. Otherwise,the only solution is giveaway the solution to the Nagas ,they know how to claim back. Dear Palki Sharma I am a big fan of yours and like you said in today's scenario it's no longer poisoning the well but poisoning the story. No honest story about the Nagas had ever been told by Indians, we are always villainised by the national media. Nagas have been struggling to live together as one family like before on the other hand rules keep imposing upon us to divide us further.
The demarcation of the boundary between India and Myanmar was done without consulting the ethenic people living in those areas.
The boundary between India and Myanmar runs through Nagas and Mizos territory and not of Meities and Arunachalis.
The Angh(chief) house of Longwa village under Mon district of Nagaland is divided between Myanmar and India so he eats in India and sleeps in Myanmar.
Fencing will not solve the problem rather restructuring of international boundary between India and Myanmar will.
1. It will increase the geographical area India.
2. It would help India defence when the whole one community is on one side.
3. India will get access to the minerals and precious stones under Naga Inhabited areas.
