I also enjoy how you two let us know of little detail that is going on or that you are about to do, it makes us more involved in the flight. Lots of work to put this video together. Thank you guys.

@@SkylineBaronPilot Thanks for posting your fine videos. Yes, her speaking French to her mom later made the question silly, but hell, I left it up. I'm lazy.
Enjoy your videos! Which autopilot do you have? I have a debonair that has a century 2000 that is being worked on. Just curious. I was used to the tru trak in my last airplane. The pre set altitude I miss 😬
G,day Eric and Captain Valerie from Sydney Australia. Brilliant vivid colors you have captured in this video. I do wonder why you hold the yoke back up to V1: is it because of grass takeoff and create lift asap? 🛩️🌏
“This does two things: 1) it reduces the weight on your nosewheel, and the stress it receives from the soft/rough field, and 2) it allows you to lift off as soon as possible. During the takeoff roll, your nose wheel will lift of first.” www.boldmethod.com/learn-to-fly/maneuvers/soft-field-takeoff/
When you do your run up on the grass strip, and the grass is wet, does the plane ever try to skid on you? I was just wondering that with that power input with a twin that wrecked grass could be problematic. Thanks for the content!
Very good question. We never attempted to takeoff when the grass is wet. I would think it would skid but our main concern is to get stuck. I’ve seen pilots do it and it very scary. Personally, I would not recommend it.
Allô Martin! Contente que vous avez apprécié ce petit mot français. Ça va faire 24 ans que je suis en floride et j’ai un accent dans les deux langues! 🤣
yeah 1 mile strip that centrally couldn't be easy today. Was the take off nominal for the baron? it seemed to hang a while at the tree tops and use pretty much the entire runway. maybe I'm just used to seeing lighter aircraft. I guess a baron is among the aircraft that cannot return to the runway in case of engine loss.
We have to 2 alternates in a 10 miles radius around FD08. On a hot day and dry runway we use a little less than half of the runway. Density altitude and grass are important factors for sure.
Um, where’s the dog? Also, we talked about collecting school supplies and backpacks for donation, usually going to one of the islands (Bahamas), as you have done. How do we communicate regarding this, as I do not want to discuss it on an open channel like this. I’ve also relocated to South Florida, which means we are quite close, meaning that it would be quite easy to get the school supplies to you.
