This video brings back memories for me, as I worked these very same regrind machines for a few years on our regrind section at Perkins Diesel in Peterborough U.K. back in the mid to late 70’s Amazing machines as there wasn’t a Crankshaft that couldn’t be done as you could set any throw be it long stroke or short stroke..& any journal widths as you’d have a number of different grinding wheels at hand. Something that the previous Prince grinders couldn’t always cope with. Strangely these operators haven’t put a radius on their grinding wheel to blend them into the journal being ground, as this will definitely lead to a weakness & under load would break up in the engine…

the only care you tend to see in these videos is the lack of any safety, at least granted unlike most others they at least have a machine that looks to be in good shape and actually use measuring devices.
You sir have an untrained eye! And I would never grind the bend out of the mains!! If you know anything about metals a it will try to return to it original center line.
