I love camping and I love my 911, but the thought of my car losing its beautiful 911 scent to a smokey fire might just keep me from mixing the 2, but you all sure make it look tempting!!! Great video
There are a few different manufacturers, like Yakima, CVT, Tepui, iKamper and of course Smittybilt. The prices range depending on size and manufacturer. You can find them for good prices used on Craigslist and FB market place. Most of them depending on region from what I’ve seen have to be ordered online if you are purchasing new.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 no look axe throwing didn’t work so well lol!!!! The OEM Porsche mounts on the other hand performed flawlessly! We had some awesome chicken noodle soup and ramen! 😋
Pretty cool podcast man.. I cycle here in Atlanta too.. the beltline is pretty cool too I saw in one of your previous videos.. don’t know if your aware of the trail that goes from Atlanta to Alabama called the Silver Comet Trail haven’t been yet but it looks pretty cool..you guys might like it..keep it going peeps..stay safe.. peace love ✊🏾
Thanks for finding us. Yeah a few friends and I used to ride the silver comet all the time back in the day. It is a decent ride like most trails it can be extremely crowded on the weekends. You really have to be careful about the dogs on leashes that will run in front of you at the last second.
I was pondering that when we initially got into camping. Like many things in life there are pros and cons to every solution. I had my FJ80 set up to sleep inside but I think that is a great solution for one person. If you have more than two I think RTT is a better solution.
I commented too soon. “This is the last time we are using the Smittybuilt” enough said about that. What was wrong? Or was it just a bad idea? I was wondering about the integrity of the mounts. Are they designed for that weight distribution? Curious minds want to know. Ferdinand said “ ve can carry skis on ze roof yah”? Tents? Na na. No tents. Forgive my German. Take good care my friend. Love the videos.
Lol slow down grasshopper 🤣🤣🤣🤣 , we sold the Smittybilt because we ordered a new tent 6 weeks ago and it was about to arrive. The Smittybilt XL ended up living on top of our 997 for almost two weeks, until the new owner got it, which wasn’t bad ( I daily my 997 I know that is heresy to some) but it was awesome that I could drive to work, with out worrying about the parking garage clearance and then go camping with the same vehicle! Can’t do that with my GX smh. The tent on the 997 was and is a brilliant ideal and worked great and will be repeated in future Vlogs with our new RTT. It’s so funny to us how people think this is so impossible and destined to fail 🤣🤣🤣🤣!

It was great fun, I definitely recommend it! Just keep your windows up if you don’t want you interior to smell like bacon LOL.
This is brilliant, good on you for using the 911 to it's fullest extent (no pun intended, honest!).
Thank you, sir it worked great and depending on where we are traveling in the future we will certainly do this again!
Surprisingly entertaining! I'm definitely going to search for that tent for my 997. Well done!!!
Thank you! There are many different manufacturers and models to choose from! Pick your poison wisely! 🤣🤣🤣
Nice video....enjoyed watching! Keep Exploring!! Take care
Thank you thank you!
Like that roof tent for my 997. Where can get one?

Would you consider doing a conversion on the Lexus to sleep inside?

🤣🤣🤣🤣!
The 996/997 mounts are designed for 165 pounds dynamic weight static load is much much much higher. I’ve even seen a guy put a 911 on top of a 911.
Hey sir I'ma put a mattress inside my cayanee and make it a mini room for camping
That is a great idea, I also had a Cayenne Turbo back in the day. I loved it dearly but it was very expensive to keep it operational.
