That's exactly what i'm want as well, just someone to talk about planners with. I'm in "2025 planner hell" myself. like I know one or two but there are so many choices now. I like your list, I might have to take my current list and break it down like yours, in larger categories. Right now I have it like reversed, with the planner as the headings and what I'd use it for, rather than larger categories. hmmm. ideas.
Do what works for you. I've tried various versions of this to figure out my planning lineup and have always felt a little unsure in the end. This year feels closer to settled...save for one lingering category I can't decide on.

@@sharkirasiggal1826 Thank you! The sticker MIGHT have been from one of the Pion or Pinkoi sticker sets? I wish I could say for sure, but I’ve had it for years. I just move it from planner to planner.
I found Wonderland 222 planners that I am trying, they have tomoe river paper and B6 size in a hobonichi cousin style but more fun pages in the front and non dated dailies so can determine what they are without covering all the crap up. I’m excited! Love ur video you talk just like me!
The planner indecision and overwhelm is real! Phew! Well... on the bright side, these planners are much more reasonably priced than the gazillions of specialized accessories I always end up buying for my rings planners lol. I'm a sucker for anything watercolor or floral so I have drawers of watercolor dashboards and book marks. Plus I always laminate everything. All the seasonal dividers really add up. Then there are all the specialized inserts I get sucked into and then invariably don't get enough use out of. I still love rings but I'm enjoying using the Hemlock and Oak, Sterling Ink and PaperTess for more too. It always keeps things interesting, plus I have an ADD brain that's always looking around for a new experience.
Have you seen the Twines and Paper weekbook planner? Vertical and horizontal spreads for every week, plus lots of habit trackers. I was going for a Sterling Ink A5 vertical, but I must admit to being very tempted by the weekbook

I am back! It is 200 degrees outside! Anywho….I love your process and your videos! I was thinking about this on the way to town, it is 45 miles to town, I live in the middle of nowhere Oklahoma, it is FINE. 😂 Anywho, my basic problem is I love journals, I love paper, I love paper in journals, I am a snob about paper in the journals, BUT I CANNOT STAND TO JOURNAL!!! As in write in the things. I don’t want to write about bad things, my brain works like, you just took the time to write about that so you called attention to it so now I will need to dwell on it for like 3 days! 😒 I went to a therapist one time and he said, set a timer to 15 minutes and write everything that is in your head for those 15 mins but when the timer goes off you stop thinking about all of those things. Okay this is a plan. First of all 15 minutes is forever, I was having to think of stuff that I didn’t have in my head and when the timer went off I had the stuff that was bothering me highlighted PLUS everything I wasnt thinking about bothering me too! That was a bad plan, for my hyperactive brain. 😑 I also have disc bound planners going so there is that and junk journals to use up paper that I have everywhere so there is also that. I am a jotter not a writer, if that makes sense. So I am going for the Hemlock and Oak because of the paper and I love gluing and taping and stamping and then some size of the Sterling Ink that I can carry around because I cannot keep a thought in my head for 10 minutes? This sounds like a plan but it really isn’t that great of a plan because too much is up on the air. I also watched the entire Hobonichi video and I would be lying if I said I didn’t want a cover, I mean several, but I could narrow that down. What to do with that? I don’t know 🤷🏼♀️ Sooooo, yeah… 😂 Talk to you next video! 😂
Anger issues here, girl! My therapist shared kind of the same thing... Journal it. Get it all out! ALL of it! Yell, scream, shout, cuss (I could make Samuel L. Jackson blush). Get it out until you are literally exhausted and cant write any more. Then I was to take it to someone safe (my therapist was my safe place att) read it out loud and then BURN IT. That was 25 years ago now. I do much better now, but I still journal. I write everything down like I am speaking right to Father God. Getting it all out - deeply, honestly, directly, and without holding anything back has worked wonders. Just wanted to share and encourage. I wish you all the best ❤
If long form journaling isn’t your cup of tea, but you like being in notebooks…jotting seems a fine alternative. Just a list of highlights from the day.
@@chapter48creative 😂 yes I know everything me and my Mom has done for the last 4 years since my father passed away. By day. In list format, including what we have eaten, what we drink, how much, her moods, my moods, anything I can track. I keep up with her stuff and my stuff. We do have a shared planner, I spent $5 on it so she would write in it because she won’t write in my “nice” planners. She still won’t write in it. She says her writing is too shaky now. But the first time we went to the doc together he said, how are you Annie, she actually said, I am fine, nothing wrong with me. I said, hold up, she has been sad 15 days, abnormally sad for 10 days, mad for 2 days and normal for 4 days. 😂 She was like, hey that’s according to you. I said, that is according to reality. She said, my husband just died, what do you expect? Yikers, I was just trying to help. 🤔 Wowzers. 😬 My brother bought me a tshirt that said, raising your mom is difficult. 😂 The shirt ain’t wrong! I think (and hope) the horizontal weekly spread will let me do the things I want to track daily, so that ticks the accountability box. A chunk of my woo woo list aren't things I do daily...mostly as needed/inspired...so the undated pages in the back might be just the ticket.

Although I agree a planner needs to spark joy. I don’t agree that you should start with the list of planners that caught your eye - that can be aesthetic, fomo and influence driven and not focused on function. You should start with a list of what you absolutely need in your planner, then what you’d like to have in your planner and then things that would be fun for more joy. Then look to what checks those boxes Your step 2 is step 1. Your step 3 is step 2. ❤
@@JustScribble If it caught my eye enough to be considered, then it WAS because it would fulfill a functional need for me. Like choosing a partner, “Cute”isn’t enough for me. If I don’t make a list of what planners are really speaking to me for the year, my old lady brain will forget. It won’t, however, forget what I’d need them for.
@@chapter48creativeI understand. You’d just told folks to make the list of what catches their eye first and I think that should go after figuring out what you need. The brain dump you did. Because I see so many focusing on the former not their actual functional needs.

I love that you’re real, we have a similar sense of humor and snarkiness, and I’m not about gratitude affirmations (which are solely designed to make you feel guilty “how dare I complain/be angry/sad/depressed/anxious etc when I have a roof over my head, a family, a job. I should be grateful and just stuff all my emotions down and put on a smile!”) No thanks. That kind of junk is what keeps your therapist in business!
Hello maker friend! You sound like you have LOTS of plans! Definitely dig out those WIP's
New subscriber here! Really enjoying your content. I agree, Hibonichi does spark joy!! Would you let me know where you got the sticker of the girl in front of the VW car? It's so cute!
@@sharkirasiggal1826 Thank you! The sticker MIGHT have been from one of the Pion or Pinkoi sticker sets? I wish I could say for sure, but I’ve had it for years. I just move it from planner to planner.
I think I found it! Try the La dolce vita sticker set tin called Bon Voyage. Possibly at Yoseka Stationery. 🫶🏻
I found Wonderland 222 planners that I am trying, they have tomoe river paper and B6 size in a hobonichi cousin style but more fun pages in the front and non dated dailies so can determine what they are without covering all the crap up. I’m excited! Love ur video you talk just like me!
I have tried the W222. I wonder if I’d like it for my health journal/planner. Hmm 🤔 So many choices!!!
@@Sarah-xw2ff What little I’ve played in my new rings…I can see it being quite expensive. I’ve barely dabbled and spent lots already.
@@chapter48creative Yeah it can definitely be a rabbit hole.

@@vrmomoffour9446 I’m such a weirdo sometimes. Thank you for embracing it. 😂🫶🏻
Have you seen the Twines and Paper weekbook planner? Vertical and horizontal spreads for every week, plus lots of habit trackers. I was going for a Sterling Ink A5 vertical, but I must admit to being very tempted by the weekbook
@@sallycourt5919 I have not! I think someone mentioned that to me a couple weeks ago. I’m scared to look. 👀
@@chapter48creative I wouldn’t look actually, after watching a review their customer service is dreadful. I was going to preorder their planner, but I think I will now be getting a sterling ink one as originally planned.
@@sallycourt5919 ooooh. That’s good to know.
Well now i know what to use my calindex pages for! I love the daily draw idea

Oh my goodness! I am loving you! except it is a bit terrifying that you are speaking my mind...:)
@@jinoshiosote4049 thank you! 💕
Until next video! 💕
@@terrilabeth I’m sorry about your dad. Seems like we have many things in common…including being mama caretakers.
26:21 an dated daily might be better for accountability. Maybe 🤔
I think (and hope) the horizontal weekly spread will let me do the things I want to track daily, so that ticks the accountability box. A chunk of my woo woo list aren't things I do daily...mostly as needed/inspired...so the undated pages in the back might be just the ticket.
This is a super helpful video, thank you 😊. Please could you share where you got the green car/girl illustration sticker? It’s sooo cute and I would love to try and purchase one.
@@Cat_And someone asked me this yesterday and I said it could be Pion, but that I’ve. had it for a few years and I move it from planner to planner and I just can’t recall. BUT “dolce vita” comes to mind now and that feels right. As for WHERE I got the sticker set it was in…I just have no idea. I’m so sorry.

@@chapter48creative Aw, thank you … really appreciate it 😊
Although I agree a planner needs to spark joy. I don’t agree that you should start with the list of planners that caught your eye - that can be aesthetic, fomo and influence driven and not focused on function. You should start with a list of what you absolutely need in your planner, then what you’d like to have in your planner and then things that would be fun for more joy. Then look to what checks those boxes
Your step 2 is step 1.
Your health and wellness planner could be the journey planner in A5. She has everything the common planner has plus trackers meal page spread and dated dailies and of course the weekly vertical. I’m getting that plus I’m thinking long and hard about the common planner in B5 for my health and wellness.
@@pbudinsky1 I don’t know about the Journey Planner, but I am intrigued by B5. Let me know how it works out for you. And if this Pocket I’m in loses its appeal I’ll have to check out the Journey Planner.

What about wonderland 222 ? Vs Hobonichi
@@cathiejo2165 I have tried W222, but it didn’t suit my. We’d quite as well as Hobonichi or Sterling Ink as far as I remember. Maybe I should revisit it, though. Last night I was playing in my A6 Take a Note to see if it would work. Not quite right.
