Great progress on that beautiful sedan delivery. I make my living fixing things no one can see until we get it apart. You just have to make the right decisions when you uncover stuff. I am glad to see you preserving this as you go along. It will be fun to drive this when you get the pieces put back together.

Hey Matt, once again I'm here to promote sealing the wooden parts much like you did with the steel parts when you encapsulated them. I suggest using West System epoxy on the wooden parts. If you want to preserve the patina just seal the parts you won't see and the under sides of the floorboards Pay attention to the ends of the boards where water would be absorbed. If there is a small bit of wood rot the epoxy will repair that too. I'm enjoying this vehicle only wish the lighting was better when you were recording inside the truck. Looking forward to more updates!

What an ordeal to R & R a gas tank. Glad you persevered and will now have clean gas to run through that killer flathead V8.

DANG, Well I think that having to Pull the Floor out was a "GOOD THING". The Old Beauty deserves some TLC. That rust would do nothing more than continue to ROT out this TIME CAPSULE which no one watching wants to see happen to (At Least My Favorite 34 FORD)! Keep it going guy's. This 34 Delivery Deserves every minute Spent FIXING the Rust Issues. GREAT JOB Guy's.

Boy, that looked like hard work. I envy Matt his cool cars, but days like that one look pretty gruelling. I wonder what the dates were on the old newspapers.

Ordeal, but a mixed blessing too. Cleaning all of that crud build-up and addressing problems will be a good feeling in the future.

Awesome project! As a child of the sixties, I had a '52 Ford panel truck - straight 6-cyl, 3 spd. Dragged it home with the trans out and in pieces. Had a ball rebuilding the eng and trans. Great runner afterwards. Sedan deliveries and panels forever!!! Watching yours with envy!

I admire you guys for getting through the dirty work that had to be done. Cleaning out your delivery reminded me of when I brought a barn find 1930 Model A panel delivery home. It took many many hours of cleaning and vacuuming the dust, nests and debris from every possible crack, crevice and hidden area. What I thought was caulk between the rear floor boards was fine silt that had to be broken up and vacuumed out. You deserve to enjoy the attention and congratulations when that delivery is completed.

It is very instructive to see how Ford assembled their vehicles. Taking them apart is like reverse engineering. Given what the engineers and production had to work with, they were very creative. So every time you and Steve dismantle an engine or a part of the car, I learn how it was put together. That's how I learned how engines really worked. I took apart my 1955 Chevy when I was 20.

Hope you plan on sanding and staining floor boards before reinstalling them. Also using the side boards as templates for new wood stained to match. New wiring while it's apart is head start on completing the project. Happy selling at Carlisle looking forward to next video when you guys get back.

The wood floor is like lap siding that was used inside of houses on the walls when houses were built during the same time period.

I would give considerable thought to making new rear floor planking with a modification in mind . Make the boards in two sections front to rear in order to allow easier access to the tank and rear crossmember . Just a thought .

Don't use a chisel to try & tighten the gas tank filler neck. The proper tool is an adjustable spaner wrench in the correct size. Much easier, neater and better tightend. Rare part - please don't butcher it !!
There should also be a lead washer to insure a good seal between the neck & the tank.

Yes sir this shows that not all of these projects are just an hour long. I think a lot of people (me included) fail to realize the enormity of these projects that on the surface look fairly easy and quick to do. But this shows that when a vehicle like this is assembled at the factory there is a certain sequence of assembly steps and of course the manufacturers of automobiles as well as other items have experience on their side and we the enthusiasts have to figure out how to disassemble these vehicles in order to perform these tasks. It is only after we have gone the long hard route do we get the light bulb go off in our minds that tells us "Oh that's how they did it" when taking this stuff apart. We learn something new all the time. Now we know that the factory probably used a spanner wrench to tighten that collar on the fuel tank inlet and for that application (trucks also) that is the way it was done.🥸👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
